As the weather gets hotter, the animals that remained on the surface of the earth move underground.
Summers on Red Star are far hotter than on Earth. Previously, there were sun-absorbing panels on tall buildings to provide some shade, but now it's pure, unadulterated heat.
"This awful weather, when will it rain?"
Rose was carrying a black backpack, the shoulder straps of which were completely soaked with sweat.
"Forget it. The surface water has evaporated. Without forests, it can't circulate. Who knows when a hailstorm might hit and kill people? I'd rather die from the heat than be smashed into a pulp."
Ivan's only vest clung tightly to his muscular body. If there weren't women in the group, he would probably be shirtless by now.
Where are we going?
Mosen is a man of few words, but that doesn’t mean he will remain silent forever.
Hot weather can easily make people irritable.
"Find weapons, find food. And find a beautiful woman to feast your eyes on," Rang replied casually.
"You're itching for a beating, aren't you?"
Rose grabbed Jean by the ear, and the big guy immediately faltered.
George followed silently behind, and quietly reached out and took Xiang Wan's hand.
We definitely need to find some weapons; it's really frustrating to keep being attacked passively.
Xiang Wan didn't mention a word about the people hiding in that house, because they were all too dependent on others.
Having holed up in the cave for so many days, knowing the lizard was dead, they refused to move an inch, only wanting Grian and the others to risk their lives to pave the way for them and find another refuge. No matter their reasons, without the determination to save themselves, Xiang Wan would never act as a saint to rescue others from dire straits. Moreover, she had no obligation to be responsible for their choices. She was still a child!
Everyone chose to ignore things like underground shopping malls.
Staying on the top floor of each collapsed building can minimize the danger.
By evening, each member of the team had carried enough food and water to last for two or three days; any more would be too much to carry and unnecessary.
The twin stars gradually cast their shadows onto the ground, and even from several floors away, Xiang Wan could feel the tremors emanating from the earth.

Xiang Wan held onto George tightly, her other hand gripping the concrete wall beside her. Before she could decide what to do next, she saw a black tentacle swiftly extend from the crack, instantly splitting the entire building in two.
"careful!"
Before Jean could finish speaking, Morsen and Charles were swept away by the outstretched tentacles. The building they were clinging to was completely reduced to rubble.
The crunching sound of chewing could be heard not far from their feet.
After the dust settled, a pair of dark, bulging eyes, about ten meters in diameter, looked directly at them in the evening.

A scream came from below, and the bulging eyes turned sharply. A pair of terrifying jaws swept across from below, cutting the building in two.
Falling from above is not a pleasant experience, especially with a giant ant below preying on it.
As the pebbles fell, the giant ant swept aside all the concrete that was hindering its search for food, including Xiang Wan and the others.
Once it landed on the ground, the ant was several times larger than the lizard and giant rat that had passed by before. Its bristles were thicker than a human's, and its antennae stretched as far as the eye could see.
Everyone was injured in the fall. George's face turned pale with fright, but he endured it without uttering a sound.
Takagi's left leg is broken. Cass and Ivan are okay, but Rose has an injured arm and is being bandaged.
The giant ant didn't seem to take Xiang Wan and the others seriously. After rummaging through the piles of ruins, it moved on to other places.
"Let's follow the giant ant," Xiang Wan suggested.
"Why?"
The fact that he didn't immediately refuse suggests that he probably shared the same thought.
"The largest monster is so powerful that other monsters dare not approach it. It would be safer to hitch a ride with it."
"They'll die even faster."
Cass poured a bucket of cold water on Xiang Wan's crazy idea.
"I don't have time to waste, I have to go!"
Xiang Wan didn't want to explain anymore. Once the twin stars completely blocked out the sun's light, they wouldn't be as lucky as they were last night, allowing the rats to eat the lizards and ignore the humans.
She made this decision not only because the appearance of the giant ants gave her hope, but more importantly, because the giant ants were heading towards the giant rat's nest.
Is there a more convenient and safer way than riding on giant ants?
Having known everyone for less than a day, they naturally hesitated, but Xiang Wan couldn't wait that long.
George stepped forward and said to Xiang Wan, "I'll go with you."
Having a little follower didn't bring Xiang Wan any joy.
Could things get any worse?
Xiang Wan stared intently at Rang, hoping that this big guy could be persuaded by her.
