Chapter 606 The Sea Monster Alliance (Part 9)

"Chieftain, the moment we have been waiting for is about to arrive."

The priest was dressed in a black robe, completely covered from head to toe, leaving only his bright black eyes visible, which gleamed in the night.

Shui Hu was already middle-aged, but his physique had become even more robust, and his aura was imposing without being angry. If Xiang Wan stood next to him, she would definitely notice that a large part of her facial features resembled Shui Hu's, while her skin tone resembled that of the original owner's birth mother.

He raised his hand and stroked the jade ring on his fingertip. The radiance spread out little by little with his caress, illuminating the space a foot in front of him.

"After all these years, I don't know if she's doing well, if she's grown taller, or if she hates me."

Shuihu rarely showed a hint of melancholy, but he quickly disappeared into the darkness.

“Those who achieve great things must make sacrifices. Chieftain, having made your choice, stick to it to the end. There is no turning back for us.”

The priest's voice trembled slightly, but in the end, it became unusually resolute, as if nothing in his heart could sway his mind.

A cool breeze began to rise, causing the flags standing tall in the middle of the square to rustle in the air.

Shuihu looked up at the sky and saw that the bright moon was already hiding in the clouds, only revealing a blurry outline.

"You're right. Every great undertaking requires sacrifice. If we can unify the world, what does a little guilt matter?"

"Chief, you are wise."

The priest accepted the order and withdrew, after which several figures hurriedly rushed to the Water Tiger's main camp.

On the seabed, when the giant crab followed the siren into the cave where the sluice had previously lived, it stretched its eight legs as hard as it could into the cave, even crushing the rocks at the entrance, but it still couldn't get its body in even a little bit. Instead, it was panting heavily from exhaustion.

"Hey, they won't let me into my own house! Kids, tear this hole down!"

Ugly Eight was furious and determined to squeeze its body in, even at the cost of having those long-legged crabs dig into the rocks to widen the entrance.

Those long-legged crabs were truly obedient; despite breaking many of their front claws, they still kept going.

The rocks here are unusual; even a strong crab like Ugly Eight couldn't pry them open, so what can a mere little crab do to them?

Xiang Wan was also a little confused. If they were hiding a shipwreck, why didn't they just let her and the Sirens go in and take what they wanted? Why did Chou Ba insist on going in himself? Could there be some rare treasure inside?

Thinking this, Xiang Wan asked the question aloud. Unexpectedly, it made Chou Ba furious.

"What do you know about crab legs! I've collected quite a few treasures over the years. If you guys happen to take a few, I'll be at a huge loss."

That makes some sense. Let alone an animal's home, even a person wouldn't feel comfortable letting a stranger into their home, in case something gets stolen.

However, Xiang Wan was very curious about just how precious the treasures that Chou Ba had collected were that made it value them so much.

"I'll only take what I'm entitled to, and I can show it to you when it comes out."

Without wasting words, the siren took out all her belongings and showed them to Ugly Eight.

Xiang Wan understood and took out her own belongings, which turned out to be nothing more than a pendant with a conch shell tied to it. She had already thrown away the ice cage when she met Chou Ba, and she had nothing of value.

"You can go in, but she can't. She's got something on her body; it's definitely for hiding treasure."

Ugly Eight stared intently at Xiang Wan with its two large eyes, strongly suspecting that the intimate clothing she had made herself was a tool used to smuggle its treasure.

Having grown up to this age, how could Xiang Wan still be naked? As a child, she wore a bellyband, then switched to seaweed to cover her essentials, and now she wears close-fitting underwear made of fish skin sewn with dried fish gut thread. Since it's not something that grew on her own body, the lines are clearly defined, and naturally, it didn't escape Ugly's eyes.

"We won't take anything."

The sirens made their promise again, but Ugly Eight refused.

"No, unless you make her take everything off her body and let me see it."

Xiang Wan's veins were bulging; she'd been teased by a crab, hadn't she?

Whether it was intentional or not, there's no way she'd take her clothes off in public.

"Siren, go on your way, I'll wait for you here."

Since we're just retrieving something, what difference does it make whether she's there or not? Staying and watching over this big crab won't be a big deal.

"No, you have to go in."

Siren looked resolute, as if Xiang Wan owed him a huge favor if she didn't agree.

"Siren, what do you want to take? Why do you insist that I go in with you?"

Originally, Xiang Wan didn't ask because she completely trusted him. But now, seeing how persistent he was, it seemed inappropriate not to ask for clarification.

"About your background."

This sentence made Xiang Wan's head buzz.

Xiang Wan already knew the original owner's background very well, and this didn't happen in her previous life. Could it be that the plot changed after she transmigrated?

“I’m telling you, if you’re going to come in, hurry up. My disciples and their descendants don’t have time to waste here.”

Now you feel sorry for those long-legged crabs? Where were you before?

While the Sirens were speaking, Ugly Eight had already stopped the long-legged crabs. Judging from their current posture, they agreed to let the Sirens go in with her, just wanting to see what she looked like naked.

The siren insisted she go in, but Ugly Eight disagreed. It wasn't worth fighting over two pieces of clothing. She should save her energy; she still needed to swim back.

Xiang Wan silently told herself that these were just animals, and there was nothing wrong with looking at them. She then decisively took off her clothes and held them up for Chou Ba to see.

"I wouldn't even take something this ugly if it were given to me."
