Xiang Wan received Long Yue's last glance across the sea. He was a man who would never give up until he achieved his goal; there must be a deeper meaning behind his actions.
“Oshina, if we give up the Sea Dragon, it means that the aquatic race has compromised with humans. We compromised once before, and I don’t want it to happen again.”
The siren's gaze was unwavering, fixed on the direction where Long Yue had departed.
This time, Xiang Wan sensed his determination.
That's perfect, she didn't want to compromise either.
“The aquatic tribes have always fought their own battles. Even if they witness their own kind being slaughtered, they may not intervene. Our chances of winning are slim.”
Xiang Wan presented him with the facts and made the worst-case scenario plan.
Perhaps the Sirens had foreseen all of this, which is why he always acted alone. But how could he possibly contend with a united humanity on his own?
"If aquatic creatures could unite and protect each other like humans do, our lives would be much easier."
Xiang Wan didn't want to be a lonely guardian. She feared that the aquatic creatures, who didn't help themselves but helped each other, would be exhausted to death in the event of an emergency. Although the sea creatures had allowed her to grow up safely, and she wasn't ungrateful, she knew that protection required methods and approaches, and couldn't be achieved simply through passion.
"So the aquatic tribe needs you, Oshina. Only you can unite them."
The siren's determined gaze and expectant expression made Xiang Wan feel inexplicably pressured.
It seems that after she became a mermaid, apart from being able to understand the conversations of sea creatures, she was unable to bewitch the sea monsters and make them obey her commands.
Under Xiang Wan's questioning gaze, Siren smiled slightly, patted her head, and said, "You have this ability, you just haven't discovered it yet."
