Chapter 626 Vampire Hunter (Part 5)

“Your Highness, are you just going to let that human kill at will in your castle? By now, our servants are less than a third of what they used to be.”

Simon stood beside Audra, watching with some resentment as Xiang Wan was attacked by numerous blood servants, one after another dying.

It's important to understand that maintaining the body of a blood servant requires a considerable amount of blood. A few days ago, many of the guards he sent out to collect blood returned injured, and just getting them to recover was a significant expense.

The Vampire Hunter League had already expressed its discontent and would no longer turn a blind eye to their rampant blood collection. The process of obtaining blood had become significantly more difficult; how could they allow such a tiny human to squander it so recklessly?

There are no fewer than a hundred blood servants in Audra Castle, but most of them were pinned down by Xiang Wan overnight. It is likely that they will not be able to complete their work normally today.

"It's alright, let the blood servant do the work. Aren't humans quite free during the day?"

Audra stood at the very top of the castle, gazing up at the vast, boundless starry sky. A faint light rose around him, like a dimly glowing light bulb.

I'm sorry, Xiang Wan really doesn't know what words to use to describe Audra's current state. She's exhausted quite a bit, and her head is spinning. But the number of blood servants attacking her doesn't seem to be decreasing at all. Each time it's three to five of them; even someone as strong as her couldn't withstand that.

She was seriously injured; if it weren't for the ice covering her body, she would have bled to death.

Xiang Wan knew that Audra was testing her limits and her endurance, and wouldn't send a large number of blood servants at once. Even so, her body was about to give out.

Her hands were numb, and her body, except for her head, was basically covered by ice. Every time the ice spike pierced the blood slave's chest, Xiang Wan would pause for a second or two.

She was really, really tired.

They mechanically repeated their counterattacks and pinning actions until the sky began to lighten with the first hint of dawn.

The sound of the bells, "dong, dong, dong," seemed to come from the horizon.

The blood servant who was still standing in front of her froze, let out a furious roar of resentment, and disappeared in the blink of an eye.

As the first rays of sunlight touched the earth, Xiang Wan finally collapsed to the ground, unable to hold on any longer. Her body was utterly exhausted; even breathing was difficult, and her throat ached.

Audra appeared instantly, standing above Xiangyun, looking down at her.

Only now did Xiang Wan see Audra's true colors. But she was too tired; even opening her eyes was difficult, let alone showing any expression.

"Human, you now have the right to let me know your name."

Xiang Wan had never seen anyone as arrogant as Audra before.

His lips moved, but after a long while, Xiang Wan didn't utter a single word.

Her throat felt like it was on fire, her lips were cracked, and her tongue was completely dry. Xiang Wan felt like a fish left to dry on the shore, about to die from dehydration.

Audra watched for a moment, then gracefully reached out, and a long-necked jug gleaming with silver light appeared in his hand. He tilted his wrist, and a thin, clear stream of water flowed from the small spout, splashing onto Xiang Wan's face and into her mouth.

Like a fish on the verge of death encountering sweet dew for the first time, it instinctively opened its mouth at dusk and swallowed this rare and precious rain.

His eyes gradually regained their sparkle, the cracks on his lips were moistened, and his trembling mouth began to swallow large gulps.

A drop of water slowly slid down Xiang Wan's lips, from her cheek to her ear. The water on her chin finally slid down from the top to the sides, then, as Xiang Wan swallowed, it gradually gathered towards her Adam's apple. Her small, almost invisible Adam's apple bobbed up and down, pushing the drop of water that had finally managed to reach one place back to the sides of her neck.

Her hair was soaked with sweat and spread messily across Xiang Wan's face.

Audra stopped moving when he saw that she had recovered enough.

Xiang Wan regained some of her spirits, her eyes brightening, and whispered a thank you to Audra. As she spoke, a long-held tear fell from her hair, landing on her slightly upturned lips. Her slightly red lips began to radiate a full, moist glow.

Upon seeing this, Audra's eyes darkened instantly, and for some reason, he felt a sense of unease.

He threw the kettle at Xiang Wan, said "You're cleaning the castle today," and then disappeared from sight.

Xiang Wan hurriedly caught the long-necked pot, shook it, and saw that there was still about half a pot of water inside. So she sat up, put the spout to her mouth, and drank all the remaining water in one gulp.

The blinding sunlight peeked out from behind the clouds in the east, and the entire castle had become quiet and silent.

All the vampires had gone to sleep in their coffins in the underground chamber, and Audra was no exception. Xiang Wan looked at the empty hall and the ancient throne in the center of it, and felt a pang of sadness.

She remembered that the last time she sat in such a high position, she was also a man. Now, having transmigrated again to become a man, her heart didn't even flutter.

She did everything herself – boiling water and cooking – in the vampire's castle.

After cleaning herself up, Xiang Wan glanced at herself in the mirror. Seeing her fair and refined appearance, Xiang Wan was quite satisfied. At least, she liked it.

Vampires are active at night, and she was the only one cleaning the huge castle; it was incredibly desolate.

She had considered escaping, but with her current strength, even if she escaped and wasn't killed by the other vampires, she wouldn't be able to escape Audra's clutches. Rather than that, she figured it was better to obey. At least she knew Audra wouldn't kill her now; she was still useful.
