Chapter 671 True Records of Ghost Detection (Twenty-Two)

The sound of water dripping, slow and steady, was especially loud in the hollow rock cave.

The further you go, the stronger the faint smell of blood becomes.

Walking to a rock wall taller than a person, I squeezed through a crevice. After about twenty steps, a sticky, fishy smell mixed with the sulfurous smell of rock fire was extremely pungent.

Standing at the edge of the crevice, the scene before her eyes made Xiang Wan's heart tremble beyond measure.

Within the vast pool of blood, humanoid skulls rose and fell continuously. Each time a blood-covered head was about to leap from the water, a stream of lava would sweep past, knocking the head back into the pool. The dripping sounds were the lava carrying blood, adhering to the rock walls, then being impacted by the water flow. Much of it evaporated along the way, before flowing down the inverted rock peaks and dripping onto the black, shiny jade below, the sound transmitted outwards through the hollow jade.

Beneath the black jade, something seemed to be slowly wriggling.

"Ah! A natural body, better than nothing. Take it!"

A voice as powerful as thunder came from all directions.

The blood pool, spanning a hundred meters in diameter, instantly churned and bubbled like boiling water. With each bursting bubble, a faint wisp of black mist emerged, gradually condensing above the blood pool.

"kill!"

"kill!"

The black energy gathered more and more, forming a vast army that rushed towards where Wan was.

Instead of retreating, Xiang Wan advanced. The spikes behind the Hundred Ghosts Mirror pierced her fingertips, and a vortex instantly appeared on the mirror. Countless ghost heads spun with the vortex, emitting shrill screams. The wailing of ghosts echoed throughout the entire cave.

"Hmph! Ghost General!"

The enormous voice rang out again, and a dark blue figure appeared instantly, its huge hand carrying a chilling wind as it slammed down towards Xiang Wan.

"All laws return to one, gods and demons manifest, demons are vanquished and evil is warded off, shaking all directions, disperse!"

Holding a mirror in her left hand and wielding a sword in her right, Xiang Wan instantly leaped onto the rock beside the blood pool.

The sword light struck the giant hand, but it seemed to have struck thin air. The giant hand split in two, sweeping across Xiang Wan's shoulder and slamming into the rock beneath her feet.

The Hundred Ghosts Mirror was still absorbing her blood, and the vortex on the mirror seemed to be spinning faster and faster, faintly generating a suction force that drew in the closest ghosts.

"kill!"

A deafening word shook the cave, sending rocks tumbling down one after another, splattering blood everywhere. A hissing sound came from the farthest part of the blood pool.

Sometime later, a gap seemed to have opened at one end of the blood pool, and a stream of magma, about two feet square, was introduced into it. Under the intense heat of the magma, the blood vaporized into white steam and black smoke.

Each wisp of smoke rose and quickly gathered towards the black jade, passing through the hollowed-out area beside it and entering beneath the jade, making the writhing figure even more solid.

The enormous hand reappeared and swept across. Xiang Wan had nowhere to dodge, so she used her exorcism technique to its fullest extent, forming a semi-circular barrier that withstood the attack.

The hand disappeared, and Xiang Wan's face turned deathly pale.

The internal energy consumed was greater than ever before. And this was only from one strike against the Ghost General!

"kill!"

The sound rang out again, and two large hands appeared simultaneously from the left and right, seemingly trying to smash Xiang Wan into a meat patty.

In the blink of an eye, Xiang Wan ducked and jumped into the blood pool without hesitation.

The ice layer around my body isolated me from the invasion of blood, but I could still feel the alternation between cold and scorching heat.

Within the boiling blood, countless spirits were being scorched by the Crimson Lotus Fire Hell, their shrill roars and screams still audible even though Xiang Wan had her ears closed.

"Holy crap, Xiang Wan, you're not planning to commit suicide, are you? This is the Soul Refining Pool. Thousands upon thousands of ghosts have been refined and absorbed by it. Your physical body can't withstand it for even a quarter of an hour."

007 was very worried. It had only seen Xiang Wan having fun and taking a short nap. Who would have thought that its host would be so troublesome?

The Crimson Lotus Fire Hell can refine even ghosts, so what's a human body compared to that?

Xiang Wan knew what it was worried about, but she couldn't be distracted at the moment. The Hundred Ghosts Mirror hadn't reacted yet, so she had to wait!

The hissing sound was nothing in the boiling blood.

The effort and energy required to melt the ice and then condense it again is extraordinary.

Since we're already gambling, let's go big.

Isn't the Mirror of a Hundred Ghosts supposed to absorb ghosts?

Let's take a gamble and see if Hades or the King of Hell appears first.

The ghost generals dared not enter the blood pool, and Xiang Wan was soaking in the blood. The Hundred Ghosts Mirror frantically absorbed the ghosts in the blood pool, and the huge vortex had already extended beyond the mirror.

"Holy crap, what's going on?"

Feng Xiaoguang chased after them all the way, and the ghost-catching bag he carried on his back had filtered out most of the ghost energy. His cultivation level had also increased significantly.

Since following Xiang Wan, he had never been away from her for so long. Following the footprints, he saw the vortex of the blood pool spinning continuously, with a huge bluish-black figure standing to the side, staring straight into it.

His voice attracted the attention of the ghost general, and successfully made him the target.

Feng Xiaoguang felt a chill run down his spine and shrank back into the gap behind him. The ghost bag behind him got caught on a protruding rock, blocking his retreat.

Just as the hand was about to sweep over, Feng Xiaoguang gritted his teeth, grabbed the bag, and rolled down through the gap to dodge the attack. He then quickly opened the ghost-catching bag and poured it into the blood pool.

He hadn't forgotten that Xiang Wan had said that ghostly energy was the favorite of all ghosts, and ghost generals should be no exception.

The solidified ghostly energy had formed a black sphere, which plunged into the blood pool with a gurgle and sank downwards as it swirled.
