After standing there for about fifteen minutes, the door suddenly opened. Liu Zixi, with a smile on her face, bumped into the hesitant Xiang Wan, looking completely taken aback. Nangong Chen was right behind Liu Zixi, and upon seeing Xiang Wan, the smile on his face gradually disappeared.
"Zixi, so you're here too! Perfect timing, I brought some soup, let's have some together!"
As she spoke, Xiang Wan pulled Liu Zixi a couple of steps inside, then turned to Nangong Chen and said, "Chen, I haven't eaten yet either. I was thinking of having something with you, but Zixi is here too, so I don't have to go call him. How about we drink the soup together and then go have lunch?"
The door wasn't closed yet, and Xiang Wan's voice was quite loud, so everyone outside heard it and started laughing and teasing her. Xiang Wan didn't look up, focusing on arranging the soup bowls, appearing very happy.
The office door closed, and neither Liu Zixi nor Nangong Chen spoke. Xiang Wan knew without a doubt that their expressions were unpleasant; having their good time interrupted, it was no wonder they couldn't be smiling.
"Zixi, what are you standing there for? Come and sit down. I know you love soup the most."
Liu Zixi was extremely embarrassed and chuckled, "Sister, what brings you here?"
"I was worried that your brother-in-law would only care about his work and neglect his health. Now that you're here, I'll have to remind him to eat on time from now on."
Nangong Chen didn't say a word from beginning to end. Xiang Wan knew what he was up to; she had simply displeased him by showing up uninvited. But now that Liu Zixi was there, even if he was unwilling, he wouldn't ask her to leave. Seeing his dark face the whole time, Xiang Wan was secretly delighted: watching this top and bottom reluctantly drink soup was simply too awesome!
