"Tomorrow night at 8 pm, Unit 3, 14th floor, Building 8, Ganglongwan Community."
This is a website that Xiang Wan "himself" set up specifically for communicating with other hackers. However, so far, no more than five business cards have been given out from the box.
Xiang Wan found this in a hidden compartment behind the bookshelf. It was a small, exquisite tin box that could only hold business cards, and not many of them.
Based on her personality, there were probably only ten business cards in there initially. Xiang Wan wasn't sure who they were given to before, but of all the cards she had given away so far, only Liu Yude's was the one she had given away.
Leave a message on her website, and you'll receive a notification when you turn on your computer. Whether you read it or not, the message will disappear after five hours.
Following the trail of the message, I found that the address of the message was in H Province, accessed through a mobile phone connected to a wireless network, roughly near the airport in H Province.
After thinking about it for a moment, Xiang Wan concluded that this person was likely Liu Yude, and deleted the trace after leaving the message.
I searched on the map and found that Ganglong Bay is a residential building, about 20 kilometers away from where she lives now. It's a short drive away.
Looking at the time, Xiang Wan realized it was getting late, so she washed up and went to bed. Little did she know that Ze Tianxia, unable to contact her, had mobilized his friends and family to add her as a friend and launched a boycott campaign specifically targeting her. Interestingly, quite a few people responded, most of whom disliked her.
The next morning, when Xiang Wan returned from her run, Bai Ying, who hadn't shown up or called to inquire about her since her accident, actually called.
Xiang Wan didn't answer. After washing her face, brushing her teeth, and having breakfast, she called her back.
"Manager Bai, is there something you need?" His voice was a little lazy.
After listening, the other person took a deep breath and asked, "Where are you?"
"Does Manager Bai think I'm still in the hospital?"
The other person choked for a moment, then paused before saying, "I'm sorry, something came up at the company and I haven't had a chance to see you. I only found out you had already been discharged from the hospital when I got there."
If I don't have time to watch it, I can at least make a phone call, right?
Such a hypocritical excuse would have capsized the ship of friendship long ago if they were good friends.
Xiang Wan pursed her lips and said indifferently, "It's okay, I understand the stakes."
Bai Ying remained silent for a long time before finally asking in a low voice, "Does that matter have anything to do with you?"
"Which matter?"
Without making things clear, Xiang Wan simply pretended to be ignorant.
"The data leak."
"Heh, Manager Bai, who do you think is most likely?"
Bai Ying didn't respond; her silence meant she had already decided it was Xiang Wan.
"Only with complete evidence, including time, location, motive, witnesses, and physical evidence, can we make a determination. Manager Bai, my suggestion is to call the police directly. What do you think?"
After so long, the company hasn't made a move. Instead, one or two people have jumped out, one trying to poach employees and the other asking questions. Why go through all this trouble?
"The company is conducting an internal investigation and needs to ascertain the details..."
“Manager Bai,” Xiang Wan interrupted her, “you won’t get any useful information from me. Even though I’ve been discharged, I’m still a patient.”
"I know, I just want to..."
"Perhaps you could check on other people first, for example, why my account suddenly became abnormal that night, and who called me back."
"Account abnormality?"
"Yes, check the surveillance footage, examine the computers, look for every clue. Also, why am I lying in the hospital? If the company can't give me a reasonable explanation, I will request the police to intervene."
After saying that, Xiang Wan hung up the phone decisively.
She is a victim; that's perfectly reasonable.
Furthermore, the company's attitude itself is very strange.
If you suspect her, you should have someone come and question her immediately. What kind of behavior is it to just leave her alone?
Regardless of what the company plans to do next, Xiang Wan has made up her mind that she will not work for Baofeng Company again, nor will she go to Liuyun.
With nothing much to do during the day, Xiang Wan went to the Dongcheng District Police Station to meet the driver who caused the accident.
The traffic police determined that the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol late at night, causing the person to lose consciousness, and that a lawsuit would be filed. However, because Xiang Wan was still in the hospital, the driver was temporarily detained.
The police officers from the Dongcheng District Police Station did not expect that the driver who hit her would come to the evening party, but they did not stop him and led her to the detention center in the backyard.
The driver was a middle-aged man with a lot of gray hair at his temples, large eye bags, deep wrinkles on his forehead, prominent cheekbones, and a yellowish-white complexion.
Across the table, Xiang Wan took in his expression and calmly asked, "Do you know me?"
The driver looked up, his eyes flickered, and he shook his head. "I don't know him."
"These past few days, with no one coming to see you, have you felt like each day is an eternity?"
Suddenly the conversation shifted, and the police officer standing by turned his attention from the driver to Xiang Wan.
The driver looked up and stared intently at Xiang Wan, not understanding what she meant by those words.
Xiang Wan leaned down, getting as close to him as possible, and said in a voice that only the two of them could hear, "If you don't tell the truth, the people behind you won't help you."
The long, soft voice seemed to come from behind a curtain of water, sometimes near, sometimes far. The driver seemed to understand, yet also seemed not to understand; a hint of confusion flashed in his eyes, but he quickly regained his composure.
Xiang Wan smiled; the Mermaid Song was quite useful.
Fearing that Xiang Wan would be hurt by the driver, the police officer standing nearby shouted at her not to come any closer.
Looking at the sky, the sun was about to reach its highest point. Xiang Wan turned her head and asked with a smile, "Comrade, this driver may have something to say later. Can you record this here?"
