"master!"
Before she could speak, tears streamed down her face. How she wished that her guess was false and her premonition was wrong!
"My disciple, how old are you? Still shedding tears? Aren't you ashamed?"
The person in front of him turned around, their figure partially hidden in the mist.
"Master, who is the person you love the most?"
"Fool, it's you of course!"
"Really?" Xiang Wan suddenly leaped up and retreated rapidly.
An arm as thick as a waist descended from the sky, tearing through the void and plunging deep into the spot where Xiang Wan had just stood.
A powerful suction force swept through, and the surrounding mist, soil, and trees all flew forward.
With the fog no longer obstructing her vision, Xiang Wan could clearly see what she was facing.
A gaping maw, over ten feet wide, held a humanoid ball of flesh dangling from its front, connected to the monster's head by a thin thread. The maw was filled with enormous barbs, emitting a foul, sour stench. Above the gaping maw, two bulging eyeballs coldly stared at Xiang Wan.
Before she could regain her footing, another tentacle descended from the sky. Xiang Wan quickly retracted the ice block that had frozen on the ground to stabilize herself, and using herself as the center, she rapidly activated the Frost Magic to envelop her entire body. With a push of her feet, she used the suction force to shoot towards the monster's mouth.
For any living creature, its appetite is its weakness!
Given the huge size difference and the monster's incredible speed, it's better to take a risk and dismantle it from within.
The red ball began to stir again as its body pierced into the monster's mouth. Xiang Wan simply cleared a path for it, sending it directly into the monster's belly so it could search for the monster's inner core.
The monster began to roll, roar, and ram its body around, trying to throw Xiang Wan off.
About fifteen minutes later, the red ball, covered in blood and flesh, returned to Xiang Wan's arms, and the monster collapsed completely.
The moment it fell, its flesh and blood began to turn black, emitting bursts of black energy that drifted in a certain direction.
Xiang Wan hurriedly crawled out and looked in the direction the black mist was flying, which seemed to lead to the altar.
"What exactly is the relationship between these monsters and the altar?" Xiang Wan couldn't figure out the reason, but she kept rushing in the opposite direction.
Along the way, there were many strange monsters. Xiang Wan dodged them all the way, but even so, by the time she arrived at the entrance of the ruins of the divine relic, she had suffered many injuries.
Seeing the situation at the entrance, Xiang Wan frowned deeply. It was no longer a one-way street; every creature that had arrived was desperately trying to squeeze out.
“Connected to the outside world, without any barriers, then wouldn’t the outside world be…” Xiang Wan dared not think any further, because she had only experienced one or two kinds of these creatures’ abnormalities and found them very troublesome, let alone so many more!
He darted outside, and the world before him had completely changed. Scattered bones, charred earth, dried-up puddles, jumbled pits, and monsters that occasionally leaped out to ambush him…
The sight that greeted Xiang Wan startled her and amplified her unease to the extreme.
"Hehehe, little beauty, we meet again!"
It's that old man again!
However, what appeared before her now was no longer humanoid, but a colossal beast composed of countless monsters, with only a human-like head.
The monster was about two zhang tall, with black tubular structures below its head and neck, a large, dark mouth, and a body covered in purplish-black scales. Countless ventral legs clung to the ground, wriggling and stirring up fine dirt. Its tail was long, thin, and powerful, and its attack range extended to a radius of ten meters.
At this moment, it stood in front of Xiang Wan, its head raised to be level with Xiang Wan's gaze as she hung in mid-air. The sound emanated from its abdomen.
Xiang Wan cautiously backed away, but the monster didn't budge. "Run! I love watching my prey's despair before death, hehehehehe..."
Without saying a word, Xiang Wan activated her spiritual energy and instantly teleported away.
She didn't have time to waste on it; she needed to make sure Ziyi was safe!
They traversed countless mountains and rivers, encountering slaughter and carnage everywhere. Occasionally, they would see cultivators fleeing, but they were often torn to pieces in no time.
A monster spotted Xiang Wan and descended behind her from a distance.
"Besides flying things, where else is safe?" Xiang Wan wondered, and sped up again toward Sui Xushan.
The mountain gate formation had been activated, and Xiang Wan landed in front of the gate. Some fellow disciples saw her and turned to fly back.
"Activate the protective array!"
She focused her energy in her dantian and shouted loudly, a sound that could be heard within a ten-mile radius both inside and outside the formation.
"Lord He, she's back. Shall we let her in?"
After one of the disciples finished reporting, He Bailan vanished from the spot in an instant.
Seeing this, the other mountain and lake lords all followed.
"Witch, how dare you come back?" He Bailan's eyes were bloodshot, and she wished she could devour Xiang Wansheng alive.
"I am a disciple of Sui Xushan, why can't I come back? Also, who is the demoness?"
"It's all your fault! If you hadn't appeared, how could the Immortal Venerable have died? If you hadn't entered Suixu Mountain, how could these monsters have appeared? Today, if you dare to step into Suixu Mountain, I will risk my old life to make you be annihilated!"
"What did you say? What happened to my master? What happened to him?" Xiang Wan's eyes widened as she stared intently at He Bailan, as if she would kill him if he dared to utter another word that was detrimental to Ziyi.
She wouldn't believe it without seeing it with her own eyes!
no way!
"We will all be buried with you, are you satisfied now?" He Bailan's spiritual energy surged wildly, showing signs of going berserk. "Our ancestor said that Sui Xushan must not have female disciples. If you hadn't appeared and bewitched the Immortal Venerable, how could he have ended up like this? The fact that we haven't attacked you is already out of consideration for the Immortal Venerable's past acceptance of you as a disciple. Go, and never come back. Never appear near Sui Xushan again, or I will kill you every time I see you!"
