The night was cool and still. Xiang Wan stood under the dim streetlights, looking up at an eighteenth-floor room and sighed.
This is the address of the person she obtained after going through great lengths and using the internet to crack surveillance videos.
The license plate number and address have been found, but finding the person is proving difficult.
If she stood at someone's door and knocked in the middle of the night, wouldn't she be mistaken for a ghost and scare them to death?
After all, he's an elderly person; it's not good to scare him, as it could easily lead to legal trouble.
If we don't take them down, who knows what might happen in the future? What should we do?
After much deliberation, Xiang Wan decided to wait and see.
I lay in his car, took a nap, and when I woke up, I felt the car moving forward.
We've already exited the underground parking garage. The further we drive, the fewer vehicles there are, and the fewer buildings there are.
Upon closer inspection, the vehicle seemed to be intentionally heading in a specific direction.
"You're awake?"
An aged voice came from the driver's seat, with a distinctive accent, not that of H province.
"Where to?" Xiang Wan asked familiarly.
The other person glanced at the rearview mirror and said calmly, "Huang Quan."
"You're so funny." Xiang Wan was secretly on guard.
"Now that you've found me, there's no need to hold back anymore." The other person said, seemingly muttering casually, "You should thank me for not having to go through various worlds anymore."
That's a lot of information; this person seems to know quite a lot.
"You dare not come straight to the point, and instead resort to all sorts of underhanded tricks. Are you afraid?" There's no harm in guessing, and Xiang Wan is still happy to talk to him more.
"A world without you is normal."
With a deep sound, the car suddenly accelerated and sped towards a bridge over the river.
Xiang Wan didn't stop him; she wanted to see just how far he could go.
"Beep beep—"
We drove around the vehicles in front and onto the pedestrian crossing next to it, getting closer and closer to the guardrail on the bridge.
"You haven't killed me after all this time, what are you worried about? Or are you afraid I'll expose you and someone will find out?" Xiang Wan relentlessly provoked him. "Your abilities must be severely limited by the time you tracked me here, right? The driver, the waiter, the leak, the confrontation in the game—it was all you, wasn't it? You think I'd be led by the nose in such a trivial situation? Wearing down my patience and making me come looking for you is probably what you really want. I'm curious what methods you'll use to end my life. Jumping into the river isn't a wise move."
The other person glanced at the rearview mirror with an inexplicable look, a cold smile playing on their lips. "You don't need to know, because you'll never have the chance to know again."
"Crack crack crack—Bang!"
The vehicle crashed into the guardrail, broke through a gap, drove off the bridge, and leaped into the air, slowly approaching the river surface.
This is the first time I've ever been dragged to commit suicide. This feeling is incredibly exciting!
Xiang Wan didn't pay attention to what was outside; instead, she stared at the man's profile, feeling a strange sense of familiarity.
The other person silently turned his head, and as his face gradually came into Xiang Wan's view, his appearance changed little by little.
Her gray hair, like a slideshow, started to turn black from the top and spread outwards.
The wrinkles on my face became smooth from top to bottom, and my skin became more and more elastic.
In a short while, this person changed from head to toe and became the person she knew best, but Xiang Wan knew that this was not Qiu Rui!
Qiu Rui's eyes weren't that cold!
"Dying for love is the end of your life."
The cold words came out of his mouth and were then swallowed up by the gurgling water flowing into the river.
Long, slender fingers pinched him, but Xiang Wan didn't struggle. She just looked at his face and into his eyes, letting the water slowly seep into the car through the crack.
"Why?"
Xiang Wan wanted to know an answer.
The other person tightened their grip and stopped speaking.
They're so stingy they won't even let someone die knowing why; it's so frustrating.
Just as Xiang Wan was about to freeze herself to save herself, the other party suddenly extended a thread from her fingertip, seemingly trying to enter through her temple.
Instinctively sensing danger, ice armor instantly appeared all over his body, then extended along his arms, blocking all his possible movements.
Since she couldn't get an answer, she didn't mind burying him herself!
"Your ability is quite special; it seems you can manipulate people's minds. However, that's all it is. If you don't show some real skill soon, you might never have another chance in your life."
Except for his head, he couldn't move any part of his body. Xiang Wan really didn't believe that he could escape like this.
The other person laughed, wearing Qiu Rui's face, yet uttering the cruelest words in the world, "You'll never get an answer. He'll gradually forget you, making you forever unable to reach him. This is my punishment for you. You shouldn't have appeared. It's all you, all you!"
His eyes were red-rimmed, another sign that he was about to go mad.
Without saying a word, Xiang Wan froze the remaining part of it until the water gradually submerged its head and until the other person was no longer able to move.
People on the bank exclaimed in surprise, but Xiang Wan could no longer hear them through the thick river water.
Ambulances and police cars arrived, along with a ship to salvage the vehicle.
The moment the car door was opened, the ice layer completely dissipated, leaving only Xiang Wan inside the car, with the driver's side door open.
When Xiang Wan was rescued and brought ashore, she had swallowed some water and was shivering. Medical staff performed first aid on her.
She lay conscious in a hospital bed as the police took her statement.
Xiang Wan insisted that she had just hitched a ride, and the other person had gone crazy for some reason, opened the car door and escaped after falling into the water, leaving her to die in the car.
