Chapter 741 The Altar (Part Two)

The whistling wind rang in my ears, and the blood-red world trembled and roared as the membrane collapsed.

Immediately afterwards, countless sharp and intense attacking energies roared towards the collapsed area.

Xiang Wan, clutching the red ball, fell against her will, her body subjected to indiscriminate attacks of these energies, leaving her back covered in wounds.

She held the red ball tightly, curled up, and fell downwards with the smallest possible contact area.

Where the energy struck, the crimson world crumbled, scattered, cut, shrank, and disappeared at a visible speed... until Xiang Wan could no longer see anything about it, and with a "plop," she fell into the water.

"What happened? Was I seeing things?" A square-faced man asked hesitantly among the crowd suspended high in the air.

"Hmph! Whatever it is, now is not the time to discuss this. Han Nuopeng, if you want to fish in troubled waters, I, the Fairy of Green Flowers, will not allow it!" A woman dressed in green with an exquisite face held a uniquely shaped flower branch and sneered.

These branches are covered with buds ready to bloom, but if you treat them as mere decorations, you'll meet a terrible end. These aren't real buds, but rather sharp, clustered petals, usable for close combat or as ranged projectiles. Most strangely, these buds can be launched entirely; once inside a person, they bloom and shoot out in all directions. Even if the victim uses spiritual energy to shield themselves, they can't escape unless they prevent the buds from getting close in the first place—making them extremely difficult to deal with.

"Qinghua, don't think that just because I usually give in to you, I'm afraid of you. Our Peng Bird Clan is no less powerful than your Flower Clan. This alliance is purely out of respect for the Purple-Clad Immortal. Whatever we gain later, we'll all share it equally. Anyone who tries to trip us up behind our backs, don't blame me for turning ruthless!"

After Han Nuopeng finished speaking, he didn't look at Qinghua and focused on casting a spell upwards.

Qinghua's expression hardened. She glanced at Han Nuopeng, seized the opportunity, filled an empty seat, and moved a little further away from Han Nuopeng.

The others all solemnly cast spells upwards, ignoring the verbal exchange between the two.

A large hole appeared out of nowhere above their heads, and something fell from it, but it wasn't the legendary red; instead, it was a dull gray.

The large hole was initially far away from them. They needed to expend their spiritual energy to stabilize themselves and exert all their strength to separate the unknown substances that fell out of it.

These substances gave them an ominous feeling from the moment they appeared, and the closer they got, the more disordered their spiritual energy became.

The best way is to eliminate it.

However, the large hole seemed to be sinking deeper and deeper, forcing them to retreat step by step until they were halfway down, not far from the lake below. Yet, they did not see any divine artifact appear, and doubts began to rise in their hearts.

"This can't go on. As you've all seen, the things inside vanish as soon as they come out of the cave, and it seems like the cave is collapsing. The entrance is getting lower and lower, so the pressure we're experiencing should be even greater. I suspect that the world inside is disappearing. What should we do? Should we go in and explore, or stay here and continue to fight against the entrance? Let's make a decision, so we don't end up fighting amongst ourselves after we've gotten nothing." A young man in white with black hair spoke up.

Upon hearing this, everyone kept a wary eye on what was above while secretly devising a plan.

Everyone wants to go in and explore, but no one is sure what they will encounter inside or whether they can come out unscathed.

Because this was an ancient divine relic, they went to great lengths to find the sealed entrance.

“I suggest that each tribe send one person to go in together. This will be fair to all tribes and also allow them to look out for each other. The rest of us should keep the entrance stable in case it suddenly closes. After all, some people may know how to get in, but they may not know how to get out.” Han Nuopeng said, glancing sideways at Qinghua Fairy.

Qinghua clenched her fists tightly, a fire burning inside her.

The map she painstakingly found was something she had worked so hard to obtain. If her Flower Clan had the ability to unlock it, why would she have sought cooperation with these people?

They were given a windfall for nothing, and in the end they even complained. Qinghua wished she could tear Han Nuopeng to pieces.

"Since Master Han has said so, our White Fox Clan has no objections." The white-robed youth narrowed his eyes, put away the jade fan, and held it in his hand.

"Huanqi, once inside, do not act alone. If you notice anything amiss, immediately withdraw," a middle-aged man in blue robes said to a young man in a lake-blue robe.

The young man clasped his hands in a respectful gesture and stood in the center of the crowd.

The others were all arranged, and a total of six people were divided up, including the young man in white, Han Nuopeng, and the Fairy of Blue and White Porcelain.

The six people transformed into six beams of light and shot towards the cave entrance.

Just as they were about to enter the cave, the crimson world suddenly trembled, the cave entrance contracted sharply, and an extremely strong repulsive force blocked their figures in mid-air.

"Oh no, the cave entrance is about to close, and who knows how much immortal spiritual power it will take to open it again."

The middle-aged man in blue robes said, "I won't hold back anymore." With a flick of his wrist, a heavy, ancient-looking shuttle appeared. He made a hand seal with his left hand, and a faint golden light shot out from his fingertips, enveloping the shuttle completely.

A blue light flashed from the Cloud-Piercing Shuttle, growing ever brighter as the golden light intensified. The middle-aged man in blue tossed it aside and shouted, "Pierce through the clouds and mist, swiftly!"

The cloud-piercing shuttle, tossed into the air, grew as it was exposed to the wind, shooting rapidly toward the cave entrance as it grew.

The cave entrance had shrunk by half. The Cloud Shuttle plunged into the entrance and lay across it, continuing to grow, though at a slower pace and with its light dimming considerably.
