Chapter 745 The Altar (Part Six)

A constant rustling sound came from all directions, surrounding her completely.

The tree trunks, branches, and bushes around me were covered with those black spiders with red spots.

"When did I become so sought-after that everyone wants a bite?" Xiang Wan thought to herself, looking up at the sky. A layer of silver light flashed among the dense leaves. "When did this web form? Is my perception so poor that I can't even see a spider spinning a web?"

Standing there warily, this scene, which would be described as terrifying to most people, somehow felt somewhat unsettling to Xiang Wan.

Just then, the poisonous creatures on the ground suddenly began to crawl, piling up layer upon layer. In no time, they formed a mountain of insects almost as tall as Xiang Wan, with the insects moving their joints inside, making a "crackling" sound.

All around, fine, poisonous spiders stood in a circular pattern, weaving webs. Centered on the evening, they used tree branches as supports to create an irregularly shaped cage, airtight and blocking out most of the sunlight overhead.

"If you bring me any more snakes, I'm going to die here."

As soon as he thought about it, the soil beneath his feet suddenly began to wriggle, and countless colorful snakes crawled along Xiang Wan's feet, piling up higher and higher.

With poisonous insects in front, poisonous nets all around, and venomous snakes at his feet, it seemed certain death was imminent.

Xiang Wan reached out and plucked a few handfuls of Red Ball's fur, conveying her inner fear to her companion who was holding her in her arms through her palms, and her rationality gradually returned.

"With my hearing and eyesight, there's no way I could have missed the slightest sound and been trapped in this desperate situation. Moreover, what I fear most is exactly what happens, which is too unbelievable. Could it be..." Suppressing the thought in her mind, Xiang Wan looked at the red ball sleeping haphazardly in her hand and had an idea.

Staring at the mountain of insects made up of centipedes and scorpions, just as they were about to attack, Xiang Wan moved her feet and raised the red ball with both hands, flying upwards with all her might.

"Whoosh!" "Swoosh!"

She soared three zhang high, the only sound the rustling of leaves around her. Looking down, she saw no poisonous snakes, spiders, scorpions, or centipedes! She clearly saw a dagger flash past the spot where she had just stood.

Standing atop the tree, Xiang Wan noticed some movement in the grass not far away. Before she could get a closer look, a gray-white figure leaped up swiftly and disappeared in the blink of an eye.

"call out!"

The same sound came from behind, and Xiang Wan ducked and jumped to avoid it.

Wang Lin, who was hiding not far away, gradually became determined. She stepped out from her hiding place, reached out and grabbed a fish-gut dagger.

Xiang Wan frowned, her hand stroking the red ball as she stared intently at her.

Wang Lin flipped her hand and put the dagger into her storage bag. She walked towards the evening with a malicious smile on her face. "You have no spiritual power and are not a cultivator. Considering that we have known each other, give me the red-haired beast in your hand, and I can let you go."

Xiang Wan paused, stroking the red ball, and looked at Wang Lin with some confusion, "How did you know this was a beast?"

Wang Lin paused, a determined glint in her eyes, "No matter what it is, I've never failed to get what I want."

The silver sword was unleashed, and after being infused with spiritual power, it shone brightly, floating in front of Wang Lin, flashing with a cold light.

Seeing people haggling before a fight for the first time was quite novel to Xiang Wan. After a moment's thought, she suggested, "If you win, my things are yours. But what if I win? Maybe you can keep them for me."

Wang Lin was stunned, then enraged. Her silver sword shone brightly as it whistled and stabbed towards the evening.

Fighting someone with cultivation for the first time without a suitable weapon is a troublesome matter.

Xiang Wan leaned back, and the silver sword flew past her abdomen.

The crimson belt was thinned by the chilling sword intent, and the coldness entered his body without causing pain. Instead, he felt as if he were in his own water.

Is it just my imagination?

Once again, he dodged the silver sword flying back, and this feeling became even more pronounced.

The silver sword swung back and forth without even piercing Xiang Wan's clothes. Wang Lin's expression turned somewhat ugly, and she once again unleashed a burst of spiritual energy, striking the sword.

The sword intent of the Silver Light Sword increased once again, and its speed doubled, as it swiftly slashed and thrust at Xiang Wan.

Without any cultivation to accompany her, Xiang Wan's movements were restricted. She had finally managed to put on such a perfect set of clothes, but in the blink of an eye, they were torn to shreds.

As she dodged, the chill emanating from the silver sword felt as tangible as it brushed against Xiang Wan's fair skin.

The physical body is, after all, just the physical body. Despite being injured again, Xiang Wan's eyes showed a hint of excitement.

She discovered that with each injury, the wound was absorbing the sword intent and chill left by the Silver Light Sword. And her body was like a sleeping beast, slowly awakening. This feeling was strangely familiar.

After repeatedly slashing and stabbing Xiang Wan with her silver sword for half an hour, Xiang Wan was unharmed except for some superficial wounds, while Wang Lin's spiritual energy was mostly depleted. Enraged, Wang Lin decided to directly attack Xiang Wan with her sword.

In her eyes, Xiang Wan was someone who knew a little about dodging tricks. She was lucky to escape from her flying sword time and time again because of her agility and good physical condition.

She refused to believe that someone with no cultivation could compare to her, a cultivator who had practiced for over ten years!

Wang Lin exerted force with her feet, unleashing six-tenths of the power of the Shui Yi Han sword technique. Wherever the sword light touched, the air seemed to be filled with the chill of the dead of winter.

Sensing the chilling aura emanating from her opponent's swordsmanship, Xiang Wan felt every cell in her body relax and eagerly leap into the attack range.

Surrounded by chilling air and sword intent driven by spiritual energy, Xiang Wan moved with her mind and her body, and her mind moved with her will. At first, she was injured eight out of ten times, but later she became more and more at ease, completely immersed in the atmosphere of exchanging and sparring with her opponent.
