The entire arrest operation went smoothly, and the suspect was apprehended half an hour later.
In the interrogation room, Sui Yi and Leng Tianyi were being interrogated, as the entire case was basically attributed to her, while Leng Tianyi was the team leader.
It was Leng Tianyi who spoke. Looking at the suspect opposite him, his voice was flat and expressionless, but his tone was stern: "Feng Chunhe, please confess your crime."
The girl suddenly burst into laughter, laughing so hard she bent over. As she laughed, tears welled up in her eyes. Looking at the two interrogators, she spoke softly and slowly.
"You're a male police officer. Let me ask you, if the female officer next to you were insulted, how would you feel? Would you just laugh it off? Or would you seek revenge? Can you accept that? Tell me, and I'll tell you everything I've done." The woman smiled, but tears streamed down her face, her eyes filled with resentment and relief. Three years of torment in a hospital bed, pain and hatred weighed heavily on her heart. She endured the agony of waiting for the night of revenge, to wash away the hatred of the past with blood.
Hearing the woman's question, Leng Tianyi turned to look at Sui Yi, thinking to himself that if such a thing really happened, he would probably be eager to personally kill his enemy with every strike. Looking deeply at Sui Yi, he didn't even want to hypothesize about such a thing.
The man looked at the female suspect, his eyes, seemingly frozen, devoid of any emotion. Perhaps because all his tenderness was reserved for the one he loved, his tone was chillingly cold. "I'm sorry, I can't answer your question, because there are no 'what ifs' in reality."
"Hahaha! That's because you don't even dare to think about it," the woman said with a mocking smile. Suddenly, she turned to look at Suiyi.
"And what about you?"
Sui Yi suddenly felt the sorrow of life, because the weak were bullied by the powerful and had no ability to resist.
“I respect life, I respect life, and I respect myself even more. I have the ability to protect myself. What you said will not happen, and even if it does, I will nip it in the bud.”
"You mean you're like me, capable of killing those who harm themselves?" The woman looked at her expectantly.
Sui Yi suddenly smiled, glanced at the man beside her, and seeing him looking at her tenderly, she said without any pressure, "I will personally kill the enemy."
"Hehe! I like this answer, so you want to hear a story? Then listen carefully. Three years ago, I applied for a job as a caregiver for the mentally challenged son of the Zheng family. I was so naive back then, believing everything people told me. The entire Zheng family was perverted, except for that mentally challenged son. One day, Zheng Xiong gave me a glass of milk with an aphrodisiac in it, and then he humiliated me and filmed it. When I woke up, I wanted to call the police, but he used that to threaten me, forcing me to have sex with him multiple times. I thought about suicide, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. Despair surged through me like a tidal wave, making me feel ice-cold all over. Finally, I decided to fake insanity, but I didn't expect his family to still not let me go. They bribed the hospital to get me admitted. They made the nurses give me all sorts of pills, just to turn me into a real mentally challenged person." "I endured my mental illness for three years. Hatred devoured my heart like a monster, making me lose my appetite and restless. I constantly thought about destruction, and my mother hated it too. We were always thinking about revenge. But this time, the opportunity finally came. My mother went to work as a part-time cleaner at the Zheng family's house, figured out the neighborhood's surveillance cameras and their daily routine, and even gave me a key. I had read novels and knew how to leave no trace at the scene. I killed the nurse on duty, put on her clothes, and went to the Zheng family's house. The mentally challenged man opened the door for me. I hid in the room waiting for them to return. I injected the mentally challenged man with a sedative... After the murder, my mother was outside. I handed over the blood-stained clothes and the murder weapon to her to dispose of, and then went back to the mental hospital." The female suspect said, crying and laughing at the same time, truly like a mental patient.
“That’s how it is. I killed my enemy and vented my hatred, but I also killed a pitiful person, so I’m at peace with myself and have accepted my fate! This has nothing to do with my mother.” The girl suddenly became agitated, looking at Suiyi with pleading eyes.
“We will hand your case over to the court and see how they decide. If it's a suspended death sentence, there should still be a chance. After all, it's better to live a miserable life than to die.” Sui Yi said slowly, her voice choked with emotion.
"Thank you! But please don't try to comfort me. Even if my initial intentions were understandable, four living, breathing human lives were at stake. Morality, society, and public opinion will not allow me to live," the woman said expressionlessly.
"You must believe that justice may be delayed, but it will never be denied."
"Thank you! I'd like to see my mom!"
Sui Yi's nose tingled, and her eyes welled up with tears, making one's heart ache.
"Okay!" Sui Yi walked out, and Leng Tianyi followed her out.
Are you alright?
Sui Yi turned around, opened her arms, and threw herself into Leng Tianyi's arms. Leng Tianyi's body stiffened, unsure how to react. Finally, hearing the soft sobbing, his heart ached, and he slowly closed his arms and hugged Sui Yi.
"Sweetheart, don't cry." The man's somewhat wooden words of comfort sounded like he was coaxing a child, leaving Suiyi suddenly unsure of how to react!
Sui Yi got up from his embrace, and his slender, jade-like fingers handed her a tissue. Sui Yi wiped away her tears and smiled at him somewhat awkwardly.
“Shall we go take a look at the other side?” Suiyi said, tugging at his clothes.
"Okay!" The two then went to another interrogation room.
"Have you said everything?"
“He said it, but he took all the blame upon himself.”
"This is love, and humanity," Ye Zixi exclaimed.
"Feng Chunhe wants to see Jin Mei, take her there!"
“I’ll go with you and take a look. You don’t need to go anymore. I happen to have some questions to ask you.” Sui Yi looked at Leng Tianyi and made a request.
