Chapter 114 Back to Reality 1

Regardless of Leng Tianyi's actions, Sui Yi, after resting for a while inside the space, discussed some matters with the system.

"Ah Xing, calculate how many points we got this time?" Sui Yi asked somewhat nervously.

"Sui Sui did a good job this time. If Sui Sui fills out the book in the novel, she can get 20,000 points." The voice was full of surprise.

"Twenty thousand? Why so much? It seems I haven't earned the title of Detective God." Sui Yi was somewhat discouraged, wondering if this task counted.

"Sui Sui, your mission has been assessed and is considered complete. After your death, you were posthumously awarded the title of People's Hero at your funeral, and in everyone's hearts, you are a brilliant detective. Moreover, several dangerous individuals who were beaten up by you back then even came to attend your funeral."

"Okay, as long as it's completed, that's good. But such a high score?" Sui Yi carefully recalled what made this task different from other tasks, but it seemed there was nothing worth adding points for. Suddenly, a thought flashed through her mind: it seemed she had received extra points as a reward for the task and had even given them to the system to upgrade.

Could it be because she stopped the murderer? She saved a life, and that's why she received a reward. Indeed, nothing is more important than life. Sui Yi suddenly grasped this method of earning points, but she needed to test it in the next world to see if her guess was correct. If so, then she'd have another way to earn points in the future—why not?

"Ah Xing, I'll give you 10,000 points to upgrade this time. Just keep the 10,000 for me in case I need to use them." Sui Yi laughed and looked at the cute little squirrel, and the depression in her heart finally disappeared a lot.

"Ah Xing, take me back." Sui Yi stretched. This time, she had spent half a year in the mission world, losing a heart and 20,000 points, which was actually quite a loss. She could only wait until the system's abilities were much higher before it could send her back to the mission world. So she had to work hard on missions, for a certain fool. But Sui Yi didn't know that while she was slowly completing missions, that person couldn't wait at all, and that person was still in the same world as her, only she didn't know their identity.

When Suiyi returned to reality, only a few hours had passed. This was the first time she had completed a mission in such a short time.

It's still night. I walk to the French windows, draw back the curtains, and sit down. Looking out at the twinkling stars and the full moon, the quiet room is filled with its gentle glow. The night air is cool and still. Sitting by the railing, I feel only loneliness. My thoughts are filled with inexplicable sorrow; when will I see my beloved again?

He buried his head in his knees, his solitary figure only adding to his loneliness.

"Sui Sui, let me tell you a joke!" the system said, seeing that Sui Yi was upset.

"No need, don't worry, I just haven't adjusted yet. After tonight, I'll still be me."

After daybreak, Suiyi did not plan to go out. Instead, she took out her sketchbook and recorded the little moments she had spent with him.

"Sui Sui, there's no need for that. I can send you the photos you've taken."

"Really?" This surprised Suiyi, and her little face was full of smiles.

"Um!"

"Give it to me now!" he said urgently.

The system really did give Suiyi many photos of her and Leng Tianyi, the most beautiful of which was the one where he wiped her sweat, so tender and doting. Suiyi printed out these photos, bought an album, and put them in it, along with that feeling.

Since I'm not going out, I'll just keep writing. I promised to give my characters a second chance, and I can't go back on my word. In the story, Sui Yi's main storyline is still about Ye Chenchen and Shang Zhihang, but she also interweaves a romantic subplot between him and her.

While Suiyi is frantically typing away on this side of the city, someone on the other side is having nightmares.

In his dream, amidst a scene of bloodshed, he was holding a girl, writhing in agony and screaming wildly. The man awoke with a start, his features sharp and cold, his face smooth and fair, his eyebrows thick and arched, his nose high and straight, his eyes as black as an abyss, his exquisite lips slightly pursed, his icy and aloof back all proclaiming his displeasure.

The man was panting heavily, and he reached out his long, slender hand to cover his chest. The heart-wrenching pain from his dream was still so vivid in his mind.

The man lowered his eyelids. This was the first time in so many years that he had a nightmare, and he had never felt such fear, not even when he killed someone for the first time.

"What am I so afraid of?" the man muttered to himself, looking at his hands.

For the next few days, whenever Qi Muzhi closed his eyes, he would have the same dream over and over again, the same heartbreaking dream that felt like an abyss. He would dream it again and again, feel the heartache again and again, and feel the emptiness after waking up again and again.

The man hadn't had a proper rest for several days; his aura was growing increasingly cold, and he was becoming more and more irritable. He would fly into a rage at the slightest setback, causing widespread anxiety in the company, with everyone fearing that the CEO's wrath would be directed at them at the slightest provocation.

Qi Muzhi went to the hospital for a checkup. The doctor concluded that his delusions were caused by lack of rest. He was even hypnotized, but it didn't work.

Despite repeatedly experiencing the same dream, Leng Tianyi still couldn't clearly see the face of the dead woman in his arms, which only fueled his anger.

"Who exactly are you? Don't let me find out, or else..."

That day, Leng Tianyi was throwing a tantrum at the planning department manager.

"Is the information you filled in on your application fake? Is this all the graduate student from a prestigious university is capable of? I advise you not to come out and embarrass yourself." The voice roared like thunder, like an enraged lion.

"President, I'll redo it. I'm so sorry, so sorry," the manager said tremblingly, bowing and scraping.

"Haha! Mu Zhi, what made you so angry?" A clear, cool voice, like water splashing on stone, rang out from outside the office.

"Take this and get out!" Upon hearing the voice, Qi Muzhi showed no emotion whatsoever and threw the proposal in his hand to the manager.

The manager picked up the proposal and left in a panic. At the door, he encountered a strikingly handsome man with a refined and elegant demeanor that seemed to soothe his fearful heart.

The manager nodded to him and quickly left.

The man walked in, looked at the person rubbing their temples, and sat down on the sofa.

"What's wrong lately? Have you encountered something you can't solve?" The man's voice was melodious and pleasant to listen to.

The man raised his head, took a deep breath, and exhaled.

"I've been having the same dream for a while now, it's disturbing my peace." The man suppressed his anger and regained his cold and ruthless demeanor.

"Oh? Tell me about it?" The man was curious. What kind of dream could make his friend, who had no emotions other than coldness and was known as an emotionless machine, so irritable?
