Although Sui Yi couldn't sleep, she didn't dare to brag to the system anymore! Instead, she obediently closed her eyes and meditated, absorbing the energy in the air to strengthen herself.
The next day, just as dawn broke, Sui Yi opened her eyes, turned over, and looked at the man in front of her with bright eyes.
She stretched out her finger to trace the man's exquisitely sculpted face. When the man closed his eyes, his sharp features softened, and he exuded a gentle and refined air. The sharp arrogance of the day was now hidden within those deep, abyss-like eyes.
Sui Yi suddenly thought of something, smiled mischievously, and quietly placed her finger on the man's firm nose, gently scraping it.
The man's thick eyelashes trembled, and Sui Yi was startled, quickly withdrawing her hand and carefully observing his reaction.
Seeing that he hadn't woken up, she once again reached out her devilish claws towards the man.
The system inside the space saw someone's idiotic behavior and sighed, "It's so stupid, it's unbearable to watch."
Sui Yi tried to do something mischievous, but the man quickly grabbed her hand.
"Xia'er, is it fun?" He looked at her helplessly.
"Uh! It's, it's alright!" Caught red-handed, Suiyi felt a little embarrassed, pulled her hand away from someone's grasp, and sat up on the bed.
"It's dawn, get up! I want to go for a walk around the base."
"Okay! I'm going into the space. Be careful."
"Don't worry! You can see outside even from inside the space. If anything seems amiss, you can always come out."
The man nodded, embraced her, kissed her cheek, and then vanished into the space in a flash.
Sui Yi folded the quilt, tidied herself up, opened the door and went out.
Thanks to her keen hearing, the house was poorly soundproofed, and Sui Yi could hear unusually noisy sounds coming from inside the base. Moreover, the people in front of her were moving around, each of them extremely serious.
Suiyi stepped forward and stopped a man.
"Excuse me, sir, what happened?"
"For some reason, a large number of zombies have gathered outside the base, including several at the King level. The zombies are about to attack the city." As soon as he finished speaking, he ran back to the team.
"A zombie siege? Could it be my adorable underlings coming?" Thinking this, Sui Yi followed them. On the high platform of the base stood dozens of men, with several at the front holding binoculars and looking into the distance. These men appeared to be the base's higher-ups.
Sui Yi searched for Qian Yangsheng in the crowd and saw him standing on the other side of the platform, his supernatural power ready to be unleashed. Sui Yi walked towards him.
"Brother Qian, what happened?"
"Xia, be careful when the fight starts later. Find a safe place to hide and don't get hurt," Qian Yangsheng kindly advised her.
"Let me see." Sui Yi looked down and, as she expected, the zombies were all familiar faces. Sensing their auras, she sensed about six or seven powerful energies. It seemed they had gained quite a bit from that place.
Sui Yi glanced subtly at the human leaders, who looked grave and were giving instructions to those around them.
One of the men in the white coat stood out the most; that man was probably the so-called Dr. Zhang!
That person was clearly cunning, difficult to get along with, selfish, and ambitious.
Sui Yi released her mental energy and cautiously headed towards the zombie army. Along the way, she encountered several other powerful auras of the same kind, each with a different purpose. Sui Yi intensified her mental energy and attacked those forces.
Having just succeeded, they saw a man in the middle of the platform suddenly groan, clutch his head, his face contorted in pain, looking extremely ugly.
Sui Yi's mental energy successfully reunited with the Zombie King, and she issued it an order.
"Take them away from here. It's not time for you to show up yet. There are some strong people among us. Don't try to force your way in."
"Your Majesty, with you here, we have nothing to fear."
"It's not a matter of whether you're here or not. We'll summon you after we've figured out what these people are all about. Leave now." After saying that, Sui Yi withdrew her spiritual power.
The zombie army over there received Sui Yi's orders and were all told to leave this place.
On the other side of the stands, the man was in so much pain he was about to faint, and his companion was helping him and asking him questions.
"What's wrong?" His voice was full of anxiety.
"A powerful mental force attacked me." The man's speech was incoherent, but clear enough for everyone around him to hear.
"My God, how strong must someone's mental strength be to attack you like this? Level eight, level nine, level ten?" He couldn't help but feel a mix of relief and lingering fear. Luckily, he hadn't been attacked. If his mental strength had been compromised, he would have either become an idiot or died.
"Drink it quickly." Zhang Yelin took out a vial and handed it to the man whose mental strength was damaged. The man took it and, without hesitation, tremblingly poured the vial into his mouth. After drinking the vial, the man couldn't help but faint.
I checked his breath; he was still breathing. I breathed a sigh of relief and stood up.
"Take him back," he ordered his men.
Zhang Yelin's face was grim. Who on earth had the audacity to hurt someone right under his nose?
"Ah! The zombies are retreating." Before he could even figure it out, someone exclaimed. Looking up, he saw that the zombie army was indeed retreating, and at a great speed. Before he could even give the order to attack, the zombies had already disappeared.
"Leave a team here to keep watch. Report immediately if anything happens," the base leader said before turning and leaving. Zhang Yelin glanced into the crowd but saw nothing before leaving as well.
