On the open ground, the two sides faced off. Sui Yi's two companions were unharmed, while the opposing base suffered heavy casualties. Seeing this scene, Sui Yi felt a heavy weight in her heart. This time, she clearly sensed all sorts of resentful energy floating before her, rushing towards her.
"Sui Sui, get out of here right now."
As more and more people died, the resentment grew stronger. Sui Yi was forced to absorb some of the resentment, and because she was a walking corpse, her body absorbed even more resentment, some of which clung to her spiritual power. Sui Yi felt her body was extremely heavy.
"Hmm~," Sui Yi groaned, her balance faltering and her movements slowing. At that moment, Zhang Yelin seized the opportunity and fired a shot at Sui Yi. It wasn't a bullet, but a needle dipped in a mental-suppressing drug that Zhang Yelin had developed. Sui Yi felt a heaviness in her eyelids, a general feeling of unease throughout her body, and collapsed heavily to the ground.
Luo Jingli saw Sui Yi's current state, his pupils contracted, and his destructive desire grew stronger. He wanted to destroy the obstacle in front of him, so Luo Jingli ran over and hugged Sui Yi.
"Xia'er!" Seeing Suiyi with her eyes closed, Luo Jingli felt like his heart was about to die, a feeling of annihilation, and his supernatural powers erupted.
At this moment, the zombie army attacked, and Qian Yangsheng and the others ran over, but they were dumbfounded.
"Hey boss, which side should we help?" Qiao Jianfeng looked at the zombie army, then at the base, torn between the two.
"Uh, well, I don't know either." If I help the zombies, I'll be making an enemy of humanity, and I don't really want to do that. But if I help the base, what about Brother Luo and Sister Xia? This is really a dilemma.
"Let's wait and see which side is weaker, then we'll try to balance it out."
"You gave me such a terrible idea." I was sweating bullets.
The group stood there like wooden stakes.
But as I watched, although more humans died, it seemed that Zhang Yelin's despicable sneak attack had caught Xia Meizi off guard.
"Quick, Xia is injured, let's go there quickly." The group ran over together.
"Brother Luo, what should we do?"
"You cover our retreat, I'll carry Xia'er first. Follow me." After saying that, he stood up with Suiyi in his arms and retreated, with the zombie kings surrounding them to cover their retreat.
After Luo Jingli carried Suiyi to a safe place, the zombie army also left the base, along with Qian Yangsheng and a few others.
The group walked cautiously through the horde of zombies, glancing left and right, fearing that one of them might suddenly bite them.
Fortunately, these zombies weren't like other zombies that had their bellies ripped open, intestines hanging out, or bodies rotting and stinking. Apart from their complexion and movements not being as normal as normal people, they weren't unpleasant to look at.
However, no matter how good-looking it is, it's still a zombie, a different species from me! It still has basic instincts. For example, the zombie on my right is drooling over me, and I guess it would have pounced on me if I hadn't been ordered to.
The group remained cautiously on guard, their eyes darting around. Thankfully, even though time seemed to drag on, it was passing second by second, and even the longest road eventually came to an end.
My heart has been pounding the whole way. What's the game in this city? It's the thrill of the heart.
Upon arriving at their destination, Qian Yangsheng and the others exchanged glances, all of them letting out a sigh of relief and wry smiles.
The zombie king walked up to Luo Jingli, his eyes blazing with fury, his menacing gaze fully revealed.
"Stop fooling around!" Luo Jingli was now exuding a chilling aura. He examined Sui Yi's body for any unusual signs, but there were no injuries on her.
"You all stay here and watch over Xia'er, I'm going to find Zhang Yelin." The man stood up, anxious and agitated.
"Okay!" Everyone nodded, and Luo Jingli left with peace of mind.
Upon arriving at the base, Luo Jingli barged in. The base, fresh from a major battle, was a scene of carnage, smoke, and devastation, with groans echoing everywhere. Luo Jingli seemed oblivious to this carnage. The people at the base, seeing him, were wary, knowing they couldn't defeat him, and thus cautiously kept their distance.
Luo Jingli glanced around, then reached out his hand and saw someone being pulled to his side.
"Tell me, where is Zhang Yelin? If you don't know, then I'll kill you all. What do you say?" He was expressionless, his face deep and cold, his eyes looking at those people as if they were dead, without a trace of warmth.
"I...I...I don't know!" The man was terrified, his eyes glazed over.
"Who knows?" he asked in a deep voice, looking around at the people around him.
“It’s in the lab,” someone couldn’t help but say.
"Take me there." The man nodded, and Luo Jingli threw the person in his hand on the ground and followed him.
Zhang Yelin is indeed in the laboratory right now because he is researching a cure. The base was severely damaged this time, and many of the high-ranking officers died. Zhang Yelin took the opportunity to win over the remaining people, and he can be said to be in charge of the base now!
He was studying the potion when suddenly there was a loud bang, which startled him. He turned around and saw that Luo Jingli had kicked down the door of his laboratory.
Without further ado, Luo Jingli unleashed his lightning-based power, hurling a lightning ball at Zhang Yelin. Caught off guard, Zhang Yelin was jolted and his body convulsed from the shock.
Luo Jingli walked over and took Zhang Yelin, who had collapsed to the ground, into her hands.
"Tell me, what did you inject Xia'er with?"
"Heh! Do whatever you want with me, but if I die, I won't be lonely, because she'll be with me." He was covered in sweat, but stubbornly refused to say it aloud.
