Sui Yi, who was tracking down the human traffickers, was unaware that her disguise had been exposed, but even if she did, she wouldn't care. After all, they were already in that kind of relationship. While she still had to do the missions, nothing was more important than him. If it weren't for needing to wake up Ah Xing, Sui Yi herself would probably have gone on strike.
For her, her current task is partly a diversion from life and partly for Ah Xing's sake, nothing more.
“Turn left, we’re almost there,” Suiyi reminded the man driving. Everyone knew she possessed a magical skill, so no one suspected anything.
At this point, the traffickers arrived at their destination and began to get off the vehicle. Just as Sui Yi had predicted, these people were all working in a group.
"Waaah, I want my mommy! You bad guy!" She roughly grabbed the crying Hao Hao and pulled him out of the car. Seeing him cry annoyed her. She almost got into trouble with this fat guy today!
"Stop crying! I'll beat you to death if you cry again!" One of the traffickers glared menacingly at Hao Hao, who was so frightened that he could only sob softly.
"You're so clueless, snatching this chubby little guy back. He's so heavy to carry."
"Isn't it because the family we contacted wanted someone healthy, someone who could eat and sleep well? That's why I've had my eye on this fat guy for a while now. I never expected to almost get caught off guard!" The man speaking now is the same man who tried to steal Hao Hao from Hao Hao's mother. Thinking back on today's events, it really wasn't good.
"Was anyone following you when you came back?" A man walked out of the house.
"No. As usual, we took the same route back, turning left and right. We checked carefully and saw no one following us."
"That's good."
"Big brother, what should we do with this fat guy?"
"Lock him up first. The master hasn't arrived yet. It'll probably be a few more days. You all need to be very careful to feed him well these next few days, don't let him lose weight. Remember, the customer is king these days." Finally, the person who spoke was clearly the leader of this group of human traffickers.
"Okay!" After saying that, he led Xiao Hao Hao into the house.
"You've worked hard this time. Once we sell these kids, we'll be rich. And the brothers will get their share."
"Great! Let's follow our leader!" the others echoed. Their faces were beaming with happy smiles. It was clear that these people had lost all sense of morality and conscience, their eyes were set on money, and they had no compassion whatsoever for what they were doing.
It's disgusting to hear that humanity has degenerated to this extent.
"Brother, I have a bad feeling about this!" A man who looked to be in his thirties walked up to his boss and said anxiously.
"Tsk, it's okay. You're new here. You need to be brave, even if you're scared. In our line of work, every single day is filled with anxiety. Sometimes, when I'm alone, I wonder if we've made a mistake, selling these children to various places, some even... being used for experiments by those institutions. I feel uneasy, even disgusted with myself. But you have to understand, society abandoned us first. We were forced into this." The man started crying as he spoke. In this materialistic society, we can't let those people make all the money.
"Brother, why don't we just take it directly? That would be worth more." This is utterly insane; clearly, this person has wasted his life.
"What are you saying? I'm not that ruthless. As for these kids, let's try to find some better buyers!"
"There's one more thing I want to emphasize to you all: if you do these illegal and criminal things, you should be prepared to be caught or even killed one day. Just enjoy each day as it comes!"
The boss's words show a high level of awareness, but I don't know why he would take this step.
As darkness fell, the setting sun cast its glow, a melancholic air pervading the twilight. For some inexplicable reason, my heart began to race, as if something was about to happen.
Inside the room, the lights were dim, and a foul odor emanated from it. Under the dim light, about a dozen children were gathered together, quietly and numbly eating hard steamed buns, while Hao Hao was eating bread.
The older children here were around ten years old, and they watched this scene without moving. The other children looked at him with longing, but dared not step forward to snatch it, because they knew that if they made a move, they would be beaten. Some of the wounds on their bodies were still hurting terribly.
Hao Hao looked at the children who were about his age. Seeing that they were looking at him, and noticing how dark and thin they were, he looked at the bread in his hand, walked over, and shared the bread with them.
"Here, have some." He walked over to a little girl and handed her the bread he was holding.
The little girl looked at him timidly, then, seeing that no one was in the room, quickly took it.
"Eat slowly. Were you also robbed by those bad uncles?" Hao Hao asked curiously.
Upon hearing this, all the children in the room looked at him, not daring to speak.
"Don't be afraid, Sister Yun will come to save us. She's a great hero," Hao Hao said innocently.
Unfortunately, these children have become numb; it's clear they've been here for quite some time.
With no one to talk to, Hao Hao sat down to the side, thinking to himself that Sister Yun would definitely come to save him.
At this time, Suiyi and her group had already stopped their car a kilometer away, because they were afraid that the other side might be keeping watch nearby, so they got out of the car early.
“Three of you come with me first. More people means more visibility. It’s only a kilometer, just a few minutes’ walk. Also, take off your police uniforms. Two of you stay here to provide backup, and the rest of you follow behind us.”
Everyone nodded. Driving in a police car and wearing police uniforms was such a big draw; it was practically announcing to the human traffickers, "We're here to arrest you, so get out of the way!"
No one had any objections; thankfully, some people would keep a couple of casual clothes in their cars.
After finishing, Suiyi led three people, including the captain, toward the thieves' den.
Following the route in their minds, Suiyi and the others arrived at the thieves' den without any trouble.
Standing outside, I could see that the lights were still on in the small building inside. This was clearly a slum, and the walls were still made of mud.
Loud, boisterous noises could be heard coming from inside; they were clearly drinking and chatting.
The fact that these people are so brazen suggests that they are part of a gang that surrounds them.
Just then, a door opened and light shone in, which Suiyi avoided.
"Hey! Old Wang, you've only had a little bit to drink, and you're already about to pee again?"
"Keep it down, it's too noisy!"
"Oh!" Knowing what the person meant, he lowered his voice.
After the man came out, he looked around and saw that no one was there, so he decided to take care of his business on the spot and started to take out his penis.
