"Okay! Are five enough?" Qi Muzhi asked, pulling on Sui Yi's hand after hearing her words.
"That's enough!" Without saying anything more, Sui Yi led Qi Muzhi inside.
Strange things happen less often each year, but this year there seem to be more than usual. The original owner's teammates are now hopelessly trapped in self-doubt.
After Suiyi led Qi Muzhi inside, one of the teammates stood there dumbfounded, walking up to his captain.
"Captain. Is this still the ruthless, evil-doing, and devilish underground kingpin you described? What I see here is a henpecked husband."
"How would I know? I've never even met him in person." The captain's tone wasn't very friendly. He'd just been completely ignored by the man. Even Zhong Liyun had treated him like he wasn't there; anyone would be angry in that situation. But deep down, he had to admit that this man was indeed extraordinary. He exuded the aura of a superior, and standing next to him, he inexplicably felt much inferior.
Qi Muzhi made a call to his subordinates, ordering four helicopters to come over. He and Suiyi watched over the children together.
"How do you plan to explain these children to us?"
"First, check the children's information, then contact their parents. See if these parents are people of conscience. But I suspect some of these children may not have anyone to care for them, even their biological parents."
"If there are children and no one to raise them, ask them if they would like to go to an orphanage. If not, why don't we just raise these children ourselves? What do you say?" A clear, cool voice rang in my ears, filled with indescribable indulgence and pampering.
Sui Yi was surprised. Although the two didn't have many opportunities to meet in real life, she had learned some things from her grandfather. This man was extremely noble and aloof, rarely showing any emotional fluctuations, and was cold and taciturn.
I never expected to hear such words from him. It was truly eye-opening. But it also shows how important I am to him; it's really heartwarming.
"Thank you."
"We're an old married couple already, why bother with this? But if you really want to thank me, how about I repay you with my body?" the man asked back, his eyes full of laughter.
"..." Sui Yi was speechless. Sure enough, no matter what kind of person or what status a man is, once he's tasted the sweetness of meat, all he can think about is sloppy tofu. What a waste of his good skin.
"How can you be so shameless? These are all children nowadays." She rolled her eyes at him, turned her head away, and refused to look at him again.
"Hehe. Are you angry? How about I apologize to you?" The man leaned closer, but Sui Yi turned her head away.
“Teacher Zhong, don’t forget, you’re a teacher now. Didn’t you teach the children that when someone apologizes, you should say it’s okay and forgive them? Now I’ve apologized to you! If you don’t look at me, I’ll talk badly about you to these children.”
"I suspect you've been switched at birth. How can you be so shameless?" Sui Yi reached out and pinched the man's cheek, stretching his face wide.
"There's no way around it, you can't win a wife if you're not thick-skinned. Honey, be gentle. You won't be handsome if you pinch her too hard."
"Hmph!" She let go of his hand. Sui Yi felt a little smug.
Seeing her reaction, I truly felt that life was peaceful and serene, and that my life had been worthwhile.
Half an hour later, a deafening rumble resounded. The group exchanged glances and led the children outside.
The helicopter landed, and several people disembarked. As they walked past the SWAT captain, they glanced at him; they recognized the man—a rather capable SWAT officer. They wondered why the sect leader was with these people. However, considering the sect leader's recent transformation, it wasn't impossible.
"Children, are you scared?" Suiyi squatted down and asked the children gently.
"I'm not afraid!" she shook her head and answered timidly.
"How about you go with this uncle to take a plane now?"
"Okay! Thank you, sister, thank you, uncle." The child's innocent voice rang out, making Sui Yi happy, but Qi Muzhi was annoyed. He and his wife were inexplicably a generation apart; was he really that old? However, now wasn't the time to discipline these children; his wife's matter was more important.
However, Qi Muzhi had already made up his mind that if no one wanted these children, he would take them in and raise them himself. He would definitely teach these little guys to greet people, at least not in a way that indicated a different generation.
If Suiyi knew what he was thinking, she would laugh hysterically. This man can be so childish.
After getting all the children into the helicopter, Sui Yi turned around and looked at the original owner's teammates and the human trafficking gang.
"We're leaving now. These helicopters can't hold that many people. You should wait for the police car to arrive." Qi Muzhi then pulled Sui Yi onto the helicopter, leaving the group of people looking at each other in bewilderment.
"Captain, Xiaoyun just left like that? This is so heartless!"
"They've never been in love."
"Uh!" After the initial shock, he stopped standing next to the captain and went to another teammate.
He nudged the person next to him with his elbow. The person looked up at him.
"What's wrong?"
"Didn't you feel like the captain was on fire today? This is not normal."
"Idiot! You've been in the team for so long. Haven't you heard a single word?"
"What news?"
"Our captain used to like Xiaoyun, so you know what I mean? It's called rivals being extremely jealous of each other. But poor captain. He crushed her the moment they met."
"No wonder. It's really unfortunate to encounter such a rival in love. Let's have a three-minute silence for the captain."
"Stop fooling around, the captain's watching you!" Seeing that the idiot next to him had no self-awareness at all, he kindly reminded him.
"Ah!" The man choked, turning to look at his captain. The captain's face was as dark as his colleagues on missions in Africa, his expression grim, as if someone had owed him a debt. He'd better be careful. He didn't want to walk right into someone's line of fire.
"The car is nearby. Now take these people down. Back at the police station, everyone work overtime. Those who need to write reports, write reports. Those who need to be interrogated, conduct interrogations."
"And what about you, Captain?" The person who couldn't keep things to himself blurted out the question.
"You look so energetic and in good spirits. I'll leave everything to you. I need to see the documents by tomorrow morning. There's one more thing I'm entrusting to you. You're responsible for finding all the information on those children."
"Heavens above! Captain, this is personal revenge! Captain, please forgive me!" He clasped his hands together and looked at his captain pleadingly.
"Calling me 'Dad' won't change anything." After saying that, he turned and left.
"Brother, you need to be more discerning in this line of work. I've warned you before, but you still kept walking into the line of fire. I have to admire your courage!" He patted his dejected teammate on the shoulder and shook his head.
