Chapter Ninety-Four: The Case-Solving Diary of a Cannon Fodder Prisoner (9)

Based on the information, Sui Yi located the original owner's residence. After searching through all the boxes and cabinets, she finally found all the important documents and several bank cards. Looking at the bank cards, Sui Yi suddenly remembered that she had left the restaurant earlier that day in a hurry and hadn't had time to pay, so she had left one of the bank cards on the table. In her busyness, she had completely forgotten about it.

Just as she was about to take out her phone to make a call, she suddenly remembered that on her first day in the team, she didn't seem to have any of the team members' contact information. Suiyi felt a little discouraged, collapsed onto the bed, covered her face with the blanket, and felt sad for her carelessness.

"Ah Xing, can you help me find out who has my card?" Sui Yi looked utterly hopeless and could only turn to the system for help.

"Okay! Let me see." A few seconds later, the system gave Suiyi an answer and a string of numbers.

"Sui Sui, the card is currently in Leng Tianyi's hands, and his number is on it!"

"Hmm!" Suiyi took out her phone, edited a text message, then suddenly felt bad and deleted them one by one! Sigh! Oh well, I'll ask for the card back tomorrow.

I took a shower and then went straight to bed.

"Sui Sui, you'd better wear your usual clothes to bed. Otherwise, if a murder happens at night, you won't have time to change," the system reminded you.

Sui Yi broke down and said viciously, "God, this is torture! I don't care about tonight, tomorrow I'm going to beat up all those criminals one by one, cripple them half to death, and see if they can still commit crimes then."

If the system had a face, it would be furious. It glanced coolly at Sui Yi: "If you actually hit someone, you'll be the one committing a crime!"

Sui Yi: "#, in short, don't wake me up tonight unless a murder happens." After saying that, she pulled the blanket over her head, not wanting to pay attention to the disputes and disturbances outside, sinking herself into darkness, including her thoughts and heart.

As expected, there was no noise to disturb her sleep that night, but as soon as Suiyi woke up, her phone rang.

Squinting, the phone number seemed somewhat familiar: "Hello!"

"Leng Tianyi, come to Bingyang Park, something's happened here!" The man hung up before Sui Yi could react, his tone extremely cold and devoid of any warmth, perhaps because there was another case.

Upon hearing that something had happened, Suiyi was jolted awake, her mind clearing instantly! She quickly got out of bed, washed up, grabbed her bag, and rushed out.

At the scene, Leng Tianyi had already arrived. He put on gloves, glanced at the body, and asked the officer next to him, "What exactly happened?"

"Captain Leng, this morning an elderly woman came to the lake to collect trash and discovered this body with a festering face. She then called the police!"

"Where are the others?"

"They're probably already on their way, because it's so early, most of them are still sleeping."

At this moment, Ye Zixi had already arrived with her equipment, and Sui Yi also rushed over. Compared to Ye Zixi's calmness, Sui Yi was breathing rapidly and panting heavily, because her place was a full three kilometers away, and she had run the entire way.

Looking at everyone, Sui Yi leaned against a tree, panting, and swallowed to moisten her throat. "I... I'll rest for a bit." After three minutes, Sui Yi calmed down, walked to the deceased's side to examine him carefully, and looked around at the surroundings, trying to find some useful clues.

"Zixi, how are you?"

Without taking her eyes off the corpse, she calmly answered Leng Tianyi's question, "Judging from the marks on the neck, the preliminary judgment is that the deceased was strangled, and the face was deliberately disfigured like this to avoid being identified. She was between 20 and 25 years old. Further details will be available after a further autopsy."

“Captain Leng, this shouldn’t be the primary crime scene, but rather the location where the body was dumped. The reason why the skin on the deceased’s face was neatly peeled off in large pieces might be due to the injection of mercury,” Sui Yi said to Leng Tianyi, offering her speculation.

"Leave some people here to keep watch, the rest of you go back to the station." After saying that, the group got into the car and returned to the police station.

After Sui Yi got into the car, she didn't say anything, but instead mentally called out to the system: "Damn it, System, do you want to quit? Didn't I tell you to notify me in advance if there was a murder?"

"I called out, but you were like a dead pig, impossible to wake. If life is about to end, do you think it can wait for you, the so-called creator?" the system retorted.

"Yes, we can't wait, but at least there's still a glimmer of hope. And I'm pretty sure I didn't write this murder case."

"Because this is real life, not just words in a book, there's more to it than meets the eye. That's why there's so much that's unpredictable and beyond our control. If I had points to level up, I wouldn't have so many worries. So, Sui Sui, keep it up!"

"In the end, it's because your level is too low," Sui Yi said helplessly.

Upon arriving at the police station, Ye Zixi conducted an autopsy, and Leng Tianyi called a meeting.

"Everyone, please share your thoughts and clues about this morning's case. Chenchen, please investigate the recently missing girls aged 20-25."

"Judging from the livor mortis, the time of death was between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. last night. It's likely that mercury was injected after death. However, we also need to check with Sister Zixi to see if there were other causes of death. Also, a piece was cut off from the woman's arm. There should be information that identifies the deceased there, such as a scar, tattoo, or birthmark."

Sui Yi's analysis was logical and clear, her reasoning about the deceased meticulous. Everyone else listened. After glancing at the others, Sui Yi simply blurted out all her guesses.

“Generally speaking, if someone in this age group commits such a cruel crime, it is either a crime of passion or a revenge killing. In general, as long as the identity of the deceased is found, we can analyze who the murderer is based on her social interactions.”
