Leaving the police station, looking at the bustling crowds outside, some in twos and threes, others chatting and laughing, I felt a pang of loneliness. Indeed, this was not my own world; I had no sense of belonging.
Perhaps sensing Suiyi's momentary distress, the system's childlike voice rang in her mind: "Suiyi, what do you want to do after leaving the police station?"
Hearing this, putting aside her worries, Suiyi was never the kind of sentimental, artsy young woman who liked to wallow in melancholy; being carefree was her hallmark.
“I wrote this book, and I’ve memorized everything. If it were just words, that would be fine, but now that it’s become a reality, I have a responsibility to stop those people from committing crimes. Stopping crimes is more fulfilling than investigating murders. However, I need your help to pinpoint the incident.” Sui Yi’s tone was more resolute than ever before.
System: "Okay! We're together."
Sui Yi cheered, opened her arms wide, embraced the city breeze, closed her eyes and took a deep breath, "Hmph! Who else is more of a devil than me!"
"Gurgle, gurgle!" The sound interrupted Suiyi's grand pronouncements. She looked down at her stomach, feeling a little embarrassed.
"Let's find somewhere to eat. Ah Xing, are there any restaurants or anything nearby?"
"Yes, there is a specialty restaurant about 500 meters ahead."
"Okay!" Sui Yi found the restaurant based on the address given by the system. Looking at the signboard in the center, she smiled and pointed, reading aloud, "Wang Family Specialty Dishes. This is it!" Sui Yi went inside and found the place packed, with only one empty table left. She went over and sat down on the side with her back to the door, then called the waiter to order.
Looking at the menu, Sui Yi's eyes lit up with hunger, and she quickly checked off more than a dozen dishes like a glutton. "These are all!" she said, handing the menu and pen to the waitress.
"Um, Miss, do you have a companion with so many dishes? If not, I think we could reduce the amount," the waiter suggested politely.
"It's alright, bring all these dishes up."
"Okay, please wait a moment." The waitress nodded to Suiyi and left with a smile.
At the police station, Leng Tianyi's request to the chief was rejected once again, and he was instead reprimanded. To distract him, Li Hao offered to treat him to a meal.
"Boss, it's past noon now. Let's go eat. There's a specialty restaurant not far away that's super popular. It's on me, let's go try it out." Li Hao put his arm around Jiang Ling's shoulder and said to everyone.
Chenchen: "Great! Great! I've heard about it too."
Li Hao patted Leng Tianyi on the back: "Let's go, boss. The great man said that eating is the most important thing. Only with health can we have the energy to work hard."
The group left the police station and followed Li Hao to "Wang Family Specialty Dishes".
"Wow! It's really popular." Jiang Ling exclaimed, his mouth agape.
"How much money can you make from this? If I don't want to be a policeman anymore, I'll do this job too."
Chenchen urged the others, "Hey! We're lucky, there's still one table empty. Let's go, I don't want to move anymore, I've used up too much energy."
The group of five sat down, men and women on one side and so on. When Suiyi came out of the restroom, she saw someone sitting in her seat. She walked closer and felt a surge of annoyance. She glared at them, walked over, sat down, and snorted.
Sensing someone sitting next to her, Chenchen exclaimed in surprise, "Huh? What a coincidence, you're here too?"
"Hmm! What a coincidence, a really coincidence." Sui Yi said to Chenchen with a smile, without even looking at Leng Tianyi.
Just then, the waiter brought the dishes that Sui Yi had ordered to the table. "Miss, what's this?"
"It's alright, let's serve the food. They're all my friends."
The waiter brought out more than a dozen dishes, making the group envious. "Don't be shy, let's eat. I can't finish it all by myself."
"Then I won't be polite." Chenchen happily started eating. Everyone else, except for Leng Tianyi, started eating.
"Hey boss, try this, it's really delicious." Li Hao sensed the awkward atmosphere and used Leng Tianyi's chopsticks to put a piece of food on Leng Tianyi's plate.
"Stingy pig intestines!" Sui Yi muttered under her breath, rolled her eyes, and continued eating. She was really starving today.
She had only been eating for a few minutes when Suiyi suddenly received an urgent message from the system.
"Year after year, someone is committing a crime at the abandoned factory on Ping'an Road."
Sui Yi immediately stood up, took out her card and placed it on the table. Without saying a word, she quickly ran out and saw a motorcycle with the key in the ignition at the door. Sui Yi got on and drove off.
Inside the restaurant: "You guys continue eating, I'll go check on things." Leng Tianyi, seeing Sui Yi's hurried manner, was a little worried and followed her out.
“I’ll go too.” Li Hao stood up as well.
"Hey hey hey, my car!" the car owner shouted at the door.
"What happened?"
"A woman rode my bike away."
"Is there a GPS tracker in the car? I'll go and get it for you."
"Yes, yes, yes. License plate."
"Okay!" Leng Tianyi got on the motorcycle next to him, and Li Hao rode on it, and they chased after them.
“We are police officers, don’t worry, the car will be returned to you.” Jiang Ling took out his identification from his bag, which relieved the car owner.
Suiyi accelerated, speeding towards the scene of the incident. She arrived in five minutes, got out of the car, and ran inside.
"Master, it's on the second floor on the right," the system notified her, and Sui Yi ran towards it.
As the year passed, the murderer was seen picking up a knife and about to stab the bound people below.
Sui Yi's pupils dilated, and she kicked a pebble, hitting the murderer.
The conversation was interrupted. The murderer turned around, grabbed the hostage, and glared at Sui Yi menacingly: "Who are you?"
