Chapter Thirty-Five: The Little Beggar's Rise to Become a Tycoon (9)

After much inquiry, Sui Yi and Qi Muzhi found a real estate agent who, through their introduction, located a house for sale in Tongwu Lane, not far from the market. After negotiation, they agreed on a price of one thousand taels of silver. The original owner of the house had left a month earlier and entrusted the agent to sell it, so Sui Yi and the others could move in that very day. The house was fully furnished. After obtaining the deed, Sui Yi and Muzhi went to the government office to register it, then went to the market to find a tailor shop to buy them ready-made clothes, had several beds custom-made at a carpenter's shop, and bought many household items, placing them in the house before returning to the dilapidated temple. The day passed in this busy flurry.

When Suiyi and Muzhi returned to the dilapidated temple, they saw several people standing at the temple gate watching them. Upon seeing the two return, they did not ask about the house, but instead invited the two to eat. It turned out that they had not been idle today either, but had gone hunting in the mountains and had a good haul. They had prepared a meal and were just waiting for Suiyi and Muzhi to return.

"Brothers, no need to eat anymore. We've found a place to stay and can move in today. All the daily necessities are provided. We're planning to celebrate at a restaurant today, so what are we waiting for? Let's go have a big meal!" Suiyi happily told everyone.

"Ninth Sister, you haven't been scammed, have you?" the eldest brother asked with some concern.

"Big brother, isn't our eighth brother still here? I don't think anyone in the world can fool the shrewd eighth brother," the second brother said calmly.

“…, I forgot.” The older brother scratched his head and said somewhat embarrassedly.

"Alright, let's go!" Mu Zhi took Sui Yi's hand and led the way.

"Hey, hey, Lao Ba, let us pack up." Lao Wu quickly went into the temple and came out a moment later carrying a package.

"Hey, Fifth Brother, what's the point of cleaning up all that junk?" Fourth Brother asked.

“What do you know? These things are memories for me, and they can also inspire me. I will never forget everything I went through when I was a beggar.”

"Ah! You still want to be a beggar? Then let's go, Eighth Brother, and let Fifth Brother continue being a beggar by himself." The Second Brother grinned wickedly and pulled the others forward, leaving Fifth Brother alone behind.

"Hey, you guys are so disloyal! Wait for me!" the fifth brother shouted as he chased after them.

When the group arrived at the house, apart from Suiyi and Muzhi, everyone else curiously touched this and that.

"Third brother, you guys are so spineless. You need to think about the fact that we'll be living here from now on. We'll get tired of looking at this place after a while." The second brother looked down on the group.

"Tch, second brother, stop pretending." The others rolled their eyes at the second brother.

"Alright, it's normal for everyone to be curious. I'll take you to choose your rooms, then you can wash up, change into new clothes, and go have a big meal," Sui Yi said with a smile.

"Jiu'er, you've been traveling all day. Go sit in the guest room and rest for a while. I'll take them there," Mu Zhi said with some concern.

"Okay, Ninth Sister, you go and rest. Eighth Brother will take us there."

"Alright then, I'll head over first. You guys take your time looking around." Sui Yi then left.

"Eighth Brother, thank you." After Sui Yi left, the brothers all solemnly thanked Mu Zhi.

"We should thank Jiu'er. Believe me, because of Jiu'er, we will live better and better lives," Mu Zhi said profoundly. The group nodded. Because of Jiu'er, they felt alive and needed. Now, however, it was Jiu'er taking care of them, and they all felt ashamed. They resolved to achieve something and cherish Jiu'er. Little did they know, the reason Mu Zhi said Jiu'er's life was better was completely different from theirs.
