Although Chen Tianchi and Yun Fan temporarily joined forces to protect Tian Siyin from harm and planned to bring down the Lin family, the two were still rivals in love. Chen Tianchi was annoyed when Yun Fan poked his eye with his hand and said, "That marriage contract was a decision made for me by my family without asking my opinion at all, so I will never acknowledge it."

Chen Tianchi's face flushed red and then turned pale with anger. He suddenly turned around and stood in front of Chu Nian, who was casually standing at the back of the group. Just as he was about to speak, Chu Nian spoke first: "Let's break off the engagement!"
"What?" Chen Tianchi asked, somewhat bewildered. He had come here specifically to say this to Lin Nian, but why were these words coming from Lin Nian's mouth?
Chu Nian smiled warmly and said, "I already told Grandpa and Dad about this last night."
Chen Tianchi was taken aback for a moment and asked, "They agreed?" The elders of the Lin family valued him, their prospective son-in-law, very highly.
Chu Nian: "Of course, why not?"
Chen Tianchi asked, puzzled, "Haven't they always wanted to make this marriage happen?"
Chu Nian: "They just mistakenly thought I liked you."
Chen Tianchi chuckled and said, "Don't you like me?"
Chu Nian: "Once a girl sees through a boy's true colors, it's hard for her to like him anymore."
These words were quite meaningful, and Chen Tianchi's lips twitched as he listened. He noticed that several classmates next to him couldn't help but look at him with mockery.
Chen Tianchi chuckled and said, "Excellent, as long as you don't regret it later."
Chu Nian: "Why should I regret it? The world is so big, and there are so many handsome guys. If I'm going to have fun, I'll find the most handsome ones. If I find a mediocre one, I'll naturally get bored after a few days."
Chen Tianchi nearly coughed up blood from her words and shouted, "Lin Nian, don't go too far!"
Chu Nian: "What right does a scumbag have to tell others not to go too far?"
Several boys were already laughing out loud without any restraint.
Although Chen Tianchi was furious, he was afraid that if he continued talking to her, he would be ridiculed by his classmates. So he turned around and went back to where Tian Siyin and the others were. His heavy breathing was a clear indication of his anger.
"Brother, what happened that made you so angry?" Chen Tianxi asked, puzzled.
Chen Tianchi: "It's nothing, Lin Nian and I have broken off our engagement."
Yunfan immediately tensed up. The only reason he could still feel at ease about Chen Tianchi and Tian Siyin being friends was because Chen Tianchi was engaged, and Tian Siyin would definitely not stoop to being someone's mistress.
He said, "So, you just went to break off your engagement with Lin Nian?"
Chen Tianchi: "That's exactly what I thought, but before I could say anything, she proposed to break off the engagement herself."
Tian Siyin glanced at him with some surprise, secretly wondering: What's wrong with Lin Nian? Why is he always stealing other people's lines? Also, shouldn't he be happy that Chen Tianchi broke off the engagement?
Yunfan originally thought that it was Chen Tianchi who proposed to break off the engagement, so that he could have a target to criticize. However, if Lin Nian proposed it first, he would not be able to use this to mock Chen Tianchi, so he had to keep his mouth shut.
Tian Siyin spoke softly, pretending to comfort Chen Tianchi, "Don't be too sad. Maybe you two weren't meant to be. I believe you'll meet someone better in the future."
Chen Tianchi: "You don't think I'm angry about breaking off the engagement, do you?"
Tian Siyin replied matter-of-factly, "Isn't that right?"
"Of course not," Chen Tianchi said, his smile full of doting affection, as if he were scolding, "You silly little thing." Even Chen Tianxi felt that his brother's expression was a bit too much for someone else's girlfriend, especially in front of Yun Fan.
Yunfan's face darkened further.
Chen Tianchi, however, was completely oblivious and continued, "I was angered by Lin Nian's words."
Tian Siyin asked curiously, "What did she say?"
Chen Tianchi paused for a moment before saying, "It's nothing." He didn't want more people to know that Lin Nian called him a scumbag.
Chu Nian readily gave Chen Tianchi his freedom early in the morning, allowing him to pursue Tian Siyin to his heart's content, and she believed there would be a good show to watch in the future.
The future is so fragile!
She completed her morning run diligently, then ate a nutritious and substantial breakfast before heading to class like a good girl with her books. Unexpectedly, she ran into Chen Tianxi again.
Tian Siyin and a few others did not choose to take this course.
Upon seeing Chu Nian, Chen Tianxi smiled in surprise, "Hey, you perennial truant, you haven't missed a single class these past two days! Too bad my brother didn't choose this course!"
Chu Nian said, "Your brother and I have already dissolved our engagement."
Chen Tianxi fell silent.
Chu Nian found a seat by the window and sat down. To her surprise, Chen Tianxi followed her and sat down next to her.
Chu Nian asked, puzzled, "Why are you sitting next to me?"
Chen Tianxi: "What, is someone here?"
Chu Nian: "Nobody's here."
Chen Tianxi: "Then why can't I sit?"
Chu Nian was speechless for a moment.
Then Chen Tianxi asked with a gossipy look, "Lin Nian, tell me honestly, what did you say to my brother during morning exercises that made you not even a little happy that he broke off your engagement?"
Chu Nian smiled and said, "You can go ask your brother!"
Chen Tianxi: "If he said that, would I need to ask you?"
Chu Nian: "Do you think I'd tell you?"
Chen Tianxi stared at her, speechless.
But Chen Tianxi quickly changed the subject, asking, "Why aren't you such a crybaby like yesterday?"
Chu Nian: "Because I'm not a crybaby after all. Besides, I don't like crybabies, especially those who are too overly sentimental."
Chen Tianxi: "Is the tea too strong?"
Chu Nian was exasperated: Why can't I understand? Are you a modern person? She patiently explained, "It's the essence of tea!"
Chen Tianxi rolled her eyes and thought for a long time before finally understanding that this person was saying Tian Siyin was a green tea b*tch. She probably remembered how she had been deceived by Tian Siyin's weak and pitiful appearance for a long time.
