Lin Jingting laughed and said, "I'll go with you?!"
Chu Nian: "I'm worried that Ling Shan's hostility towards you will intensify."
Lin Jingting: "It's alright. Although Mount Ling is rumored to be powerful, it's not that bad. After learning that my little maid Wu Nian was actually a Buddhist before entering Mount Demon, I secretly went to Mount Ling many times."
Chu Nian laughed, "So it's not unfair that people call you the Demon Lord." And yet you're still wondering why they call you a demon?!
Lin Jingting: "Tch, if it were you, you'd have sneaked in more times than I have. Don't be fooled by the fact that Mount Ling is a Buddhist holy site. Those so-called high monks there spend all day instructing their disciples to abstain from this and that, especially from their appetites. Ha, little do they know how particular they are about food themselves! Mount Ling has plenty of delicious food!"
Chu Nian perked up immediately upon hearing this and said, "You've lived to such an old age and still think the food from Ling Mountain is delicious. Then the food there must be incredibly delicious."
Lin Jingting: "How about I take you to Lingshan for a visit now?"
Chu Nian shook her head and said, "I want to recover my body first, then study the Ruthless Path of Emei properly, and then go wander around other places."
Lin Jingting was a little disappointed and said, "Oh, okay then."
Chu Nian: "Thanks to your help, my body has recovered quite a bit. You should go back to Demon Mountain now!"
Lin Jingting asked in a daze, "You...you...you really want me to leave?"
Chu Nian said with a hint of helplessness, "Jingting, you're clearly not a sentimental person, so why do you always put on such a pitiful face?"
Lin Jingting, that clown, finally left. Chu Nian returned to the meditation room where she had been lying before. Several days had passed since Lin Jingting took her into the spatial artifact after she fell asleep.
These past few days, her cheap master, Abbess Kongyuan, has practically turned the entire Qingyun Nunnery upside down. This meditation room has been searched countless times, but she still hasn't found the person. Abbess Kongyuan suspects that the Demon Lord Yuangu took the person away, and she's currently discussing with the nuns in the nunnery about going to Demon Mountain to abduct her again.
Chu Nian's body had been mostly repaired within Lin Jingting's immortal artifact. She originally wanted to stay in bed, but upon hearing that Abbess Kongyuan was going to Demon Mountain, she had no choice but to step in to prevent Lin Jingting from being harassed by the old nun.
Her movements within the nunnery startled many of the nuns outside. Although Abbess Kongyuan had said she was missing, given her recently crippled body, it was impossible for her to have traveled far on her own. That's why Kongyuan suspected the Demon Lord had taken her away.
Now that she was walking so openly inside the nunnery, her fellow disciples were naturally shocked.
She quickly arrived at the main hall where the nuns of Qingyun Nunnery were holding their meeting. The people inside weren't discussing anything secret, so the doors were open, and Chu Nian immediately called out, "Master!"
Master Kongyuan possessed profound cultivation and was one of the three Mahayana Venerables of Qingyun Temple. Moreover, because of her high achievements in Buddhism, she held considerable influence not only in Qingyun Temple but also throughout the entire Buddhist community.
She was a pretty nun. When she saw Chu Nian standing safely outside the temple gate, she was overjoyed and hurried over.
Chu Nian felt that the original owner's master was really caring about her. As a teacher herself, she could understand Master Kongyuan to some extent.
A teacher who has personally taught a child, especially one they have watched grow up and guided, is likely to treat that child as their own flesh and blood.
"Wunian, where have you been these past few days? Did that Demon Lord come looking for you?" When she got closer, Abbess Kongyuan had already put away all her joy and put on a serious face, questioning her with a stern expression.
In Wu Nian's memory, her master Kong Yuan was just like this. Although he did care about her, he also scolded her all the time. This made the original owner only respect this master, but there was no affection or master-disciple relationship between them.
That's why she later poured all her emotions into the Demon Lord, and although she had to obey her master, she didn't have much attachment to him.
She felt that the master and disciple lacked communication, and that Master Kongyuan and her disciple Wunian were both so fixated on Lin Jingting. Sigh!
Chu Nian said, "I just wanted to find a quiet place, so I left for a few days."
Kong Yuan said, "Nonsense, you are seriously injured, how could you possibly leave?"
Chu Nian complained, "Master, I owe my severe injuries to you!"
Kong Yuan said, "Are you resentful of your master? If you hadn't betrayed our sect, joined the demonic path, and even cultivated demonic arts, I would have tried my best to protect your body from damage. Why would I have had to work with several elders to cripple your demonic arts?"
Chu Nian said, “Master, the Buddha taught us that all beings are equal. Whether they are demons or Buddhas, we should treat them with an equal mind. I stayed on Demon Mountain to cultivate demonic arts not to do evil with those demons, but to use the righteous Dharma of Buddhism to save them.”
Kong Yuan said, "Nonsense, those demons are evil at their core, how can they be converted?"
Chu Nian: "The Buddha's teachings are boundless and can save all sentient beings. Master, your idea goes against the Buddha's teachings."
Kong Yuan grew even angrier, sneered, and shouted, "Heh, you've grown too big for your britches after just one trip to Demon Mountain, and now you're even lecturing your master!"
Chu Nian: "If Master thinks what I said is wrong, we can go to Mount Ling together in the future to discuss the Dao with Buddha..."
"Do you even know who you are?" Kong Yuan interrupted Chu Nian with an angry shout, her voice rising eight octaves. Seeing that some disciples who were cleaning were peeking over to watch the commotion, her voice lowered again. "You actually want to discuss the Dao with Buddha? Someone like you can't even see Buddha's face, yet you want to discuss the Dao with Buddha! Go back to your meditation room and reflect on your mistakes. You are forbidden from leaving the house for three months."
Chu Nian obediently turned around and went back to her meditation room.
No sooner had she stepped inside than Wu Si, the original owner's senior sister, arrived, smiling innocently, and said, "Junior sister, you disappeared for several days, I was so worried about you. I just heard that you woke up and even went to the main hall to find Master, but you were scolded by Master and sent back to your meditation room, so I rushed over to see you. Are you alright?"
After listening to her long explanation, Chu Nian finally understood: This person didn't come to visit at all; she clearly came to deliver the final blow!
She laughed and said, "What could possibly be wrong with me?"
Wu Si: "After you returned from Demon Mountain, we only heard that you had lost all your martial arts skills, and we didn't know how you were doing. Now that I see you are safe and sound, I can finally rest assured. What are your plans for the future?"
Chu Nian sat on the bed, one foot on the edge, elbow on her knee, lazily looking at her good senior sister, and asked, "What 'what plans'?"
