Chapter 602 Crossing (27)

Chu Nian hurriedly asked, "How long have you been asleep?"

Lin Jingting said helplessly, "I don't know either. The current way of counting years is completely different from the way of counting years before I fell asleep."

Chu Nian sighed and asked, "How do we break this magic array?"

Lin Jingting smiled and said, "Niannian, with your abilities, breaking this magic array shouldn't be difficult." As he spoke, he reached out and tapped a node on the array diagram. "As long as this connection point is broken, the entire magic array will be broken."

Chu Nian stroked his chin and pondered for a moment, then said, "Okay." He then transmitted his voice to him, telling him the location of the nunnery and the secret mechanism of the chamber, and asked him to dispel the magic array on the crystal bottle containing Wu Nian and Kong Yuan's blood.

After saying that, she felt something was amiss and asked, "How can your magic array give the side that is undergoing blood fusion such a powerful tracking ability against the other side?"

Lin Jingting has now guessed that the crystal bottle containing the blood fusion is probably the reason why Kong Yuan tracked Wu Nian down to Demon Mountain.

He quickly replied, "No, I never thought of using it to track anyone."

Chu Nian said angrily, "You're kidding me!" This guy probably created this array to use the inheritance relationship between the cultivation techniques, combined with the blood fusion relationship between the two, to ensure that he could track her.

Lin Jingting said awkwardly, "I'll go and remove the magic array on that crystal bottle right away."

Chu Nian: "Just break that magic array and don't touch the crystal bottle, lest Kong Yuan notice something's wrong and start targeting you. Also, don't touch the other crystal bottles either."

"Yes, sir," Lin Jingting said in a drawn-out voice, and gave Chu Nian a perfunctory bow.

He vanished in a flash. The Buddha, not having heard their telepathic exchange, wondered, "Where did the Demon Lord go?"

Chu Nian said, "Don't worry about him." She then sat down opposite Tathagata and asked curiously, "Has the egg left behind by the Peacock King hatched yet?"

The Buddha said with delight, "They have hatched."

Little Jin inside the spatial artifact was immediately excited.

Chu Nian remained expressionless and asked, "Is it just a peacock?"

The Buddha said, "No." He paused, then said, "I think it is a more noble species than a peacock. Although it is only the size of a fist, you can see that it is golden all over, which must be due to the influence of the Buddha's teachings and light over the years." He became particularly proud as he spoke.

Chu Nian looked at Tathagata with a bit of speechlessness: How come she couldn't see even a trace of "emptiness of the four elements" in this Buddha?

However, in Chu Nian's view, this was not without its own kind of "enlightenment," and it was a true "enlightenment"—there was really no need to be too attached to anything, including the Buddhist scriptures and precepts.

Xiao Jin snorted and said, "I was born so well because of my own abilities. What's this monk so proud of?"

Chu Nian's lips curled up almost imperceptibly, pretending not to hear his words, and continued to speak to Tathagata: "When you came out, was he a little older?"

Buddha: "How could that be? When I came out, he had only been hatched for three days and had eaten nearly three hundred catties of meat..." He then realized something was amiss and quickly corrected himself: "Ahem, I meant food..."

“I know,” Chu Nian chuckled, “It likes to eat meat, so meat is its food. Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone else about this.”

She then asked, "Did you leave it alone on Mount Ling when you left? Are your disciples capable of taking good care of it?"

The Buddha chuckled and said, "You must not underestimate my disciples. They have already mastered my teachings." He paused, then added, "Don't worry, my disciples and I will take good care of that child and will never let it suffer any injustice."

Chu Nian coughed lightly and said, "I was just asking casually."

Buddha quickly replied, "I understand, I understand. I didn't say it was your son. Your concern for it is just out of curiosity, definitely not out of a mother's concern for her son."

Chu Nian was exasperated: Forget it, she'd better not say anything more, or she'd only make things worse for him.

Just as she was about to change the subject, Lin Jingting returned.

Chu Nian asked, "How is it? Is everything settled?"

Lin Jingting: "Don't worry!" She glanced at Rulai and then asked, "What were you two talking about just now?"

Just as Tathagata was about to speak, Chu Nian said, "I just asked Tathagata if these dried fruits are delicious."

Lin Jingting pointed to the empty plate and said, "Is that even a question?"

Chu Nian shrugged and smiled, "Just chatting!"

Lin Jingting sat down, pondering without speaking.

Seeing this, Chu Nian's heart stirred, and she asked, "Jingting, were you doing anything else in that nunnery?"

Lin Jingting quickly replied, "No!"

Chu Nian looked at him suspiciously.

Lin Jingting smiled wryly and said, "Really, no."

Chu Nian: "But you seem to have something on your mind."

Lin Jingting: "I'm just wondering how all those crystal bottles I used to practice drawing array diagrams ended up in Qingyun Temple?"

Tathagata laughed out loud: "What's so strange about that? The secret realm where you were sleeping has been explored by generations of Emei people. They probably picked it up from there."

Lin Jingting asked suspiciously, "Didn't you give them them?"

Chu Nian was immediately shocked and looked at Tathagata: What does this mean? Judging from Lin Jingting's words, he knew Tathagata when he was making these bottles. Could it be that this Tathagata Buddha was also someone from the previous human civilization? No wonder no one knows Tathagata's age from ancient times to the present.

Tathagata hurriedly said, "How could that be? I'm not a junk collector, how could I possibly pick up your broken bottles that you've discarded?" Even as he said this, his eyes flickered, and he didn't dare to look directly at Lin Jingting.

Lin Jingting: "These are all bottles that I ruined, but someone changed the magic array on them, and the magic array they used to change it was the one I perfected."

Chu Nian finally understood: Hmm, so these bottles were made by Lin Jingting and Rulai together. No wonder they are so powerful.

The Buddha then said, "The complete array you created is not something I'm the only one who has seen."

Lin Jingting: "But you're the only one left."

Tathagata said, "I really didn't give them these things." He paused, as if remembering something, and said, "Uh, when Emei was founded, I did give their patriarch a storage ring. Could it be that these bottles were in that ring at that time?"

Chu Nian asked, "When Emei was founded?" The patriarch established the Emei lineage back then, but no one in Emei was practicing at that time. The establishment of Qingyun Temple was at least several thousand years later.

The Buddha sighed somewhat helplessly, "Yes! It's been so long, I've almost forgotten about it."

Lin Jingting cursed, "Why don't you forget about yourself too?"

Upon hearing this, Buddha stared at him for a long time without blinking.
