"Mother, he ruined my face!" Phil screamed frantically, covering her face. "My face may never be healed."
“But he saved you, and one shouldn’t repay kindness with enmity.” Enna suddenly raised her voice, but her eyes showed a hint of confusion and helplessness.
No, how could her daughter have become like this?
Her daughter was so well-behaved and sensible, and always grateful. How could she have become so heartless?
The princess was rescued, and the pirate leader was dead. The pirates were leaderless and immediately fell into chaos.
The royal guards swarmed forward and quickly arrested these people.
After the pirates were captured, only the Sirens and their gang remained. The guards exchanged glances, unwilling to confront them.
"Arrest them too."
Fei gritted his teeth and said.
“Your Highness, this is unreasonable.” The guard refused to accept this arrangement. “The Duke of Siren is a man of our kingdom and should not be treated this way.”
"But he is a sea monster, and they are not human."
“Your Highness, he saved us.” The guard disagreed. “He just saved the Princess.”
"He deliberately ruined my face!" Phil cried out. "Such a deep wound—my face is ruined, boohoo—"
“Fier, don’t do this,” Enna called out again. “Don’t let me down.”
“He did it on purpose; he deliberately aimed it at my face.”
"But the fact that he saved you is undeniable."
"Mother--"
"Heh, I did do it on purpose." Ning Hong didn't deny it. "Just because you tried to harm my sister, I can't let you get away with it. I was aiming my sword at your eyes, but unfortunately I haven't used a sword in a long time, so I threw it off course."
"you--"
“You encountered pirates and fell into the sea. It was An who saved you. Instead of being grateful, you tricked An out of her mermaid tail and even tried to harm her.” Ning Hong looked at Enna, who looked bewildered.
"This is your daughter, a complete ingrate. My sister was completely devoted to her, but she turned around and betrayed my sister."
"You're talking nonsense! I'm not that kind of person!" Fei'er gritted her teeth. "That mermaid tail, the mermaid tail—"
The mermaid tail made Phil feel uncomfortable.
She shouldn't have been so soft-hearted.
“Beautiful lady, you can see for yourself what kind of look your daughter has now?” Her eyes were fierce and malevolent, full of hostility.
"Feier—"
Enna felt as if her heart was being violently clenched. Her daughter had grown up to be just like her father.
She had given him all her love, but she was still not satisfied.
Perhaps for her, money and wealth far outweigh her love!
"I'm going to kill you."
Enna's disappointed look snapped the last thread in Phil's mind.
She suddenly grabbed the sword from the ground, twirled it in her hand, and attacked Ning Hongze.
It's all because of this man.
He stole her mermaid tail; he ruined her life.
"Feier—"
Fei'er was no match for Ning Hongze. In just a few moves, Ning Hongze snatched her sword and kicked her away.
Ning Hong's eyes flickered slightly, and she threw her longsword again.
This sword strike was even more powerful and swift than before.
Ning Hong's kick was too powerful; Fei'er couldn't get up for a while and could only watch helplessly as the longsword flew towards her.
"Fei'er." Fei Ang wanted to step forward to stop the long sword, but someone was faster than him.
That's Eunna.
A mother, an ordinary woman.
Enna stood in front of Phil, gripping the longsword tightly with both hands, refusing to let go even as the sword pierced her body.
She collapsed to the ground, powerless, only after the longsword's attack ceased.
Blood spread beneath her.
Ning Hong's expression changed slightly, and her brows furrowed deeply.
"Mother—" Phil scrambled to Enna's side.
"Mother, Mother." She lifted Enna's frail body with trembling hands.
"Fei'er, your mother has not taught you well."
Enna raised her blood-soaked hand and touched Phil's face. Her eyes filled with tears, and her face was heavy with sorrow. "It's because your mother is so useless, unable to give you a good life, that you've gradually ended up like this."
"That's not how it is, that's not it." Phil did indeed hate Enna.
She resented Eun-na for giving birth to her but being unable to provide her with a good life.
But she knew clearly in her heart that her mother loved her very much. No one else would love her like that.
Even Feion wouldn't.
She wanted to make money, wanted to live a better life, wanted to let her mother enjoy life; her mother was too tired.
"Fei'er, live well, live a good life..." The light in Enna's eyes was fading, and her hand fell limply.
"Mother, Mother—ahhh—"
"Mother, wake up, it was Fei'er who was wrong."
"Mother, I really know I was wrong. Please don't abandon me."
"I will definitely listen to you from now on."
"Mother--"
"Fei'er." Fei Ang stepped forward, wanting to pull Fei'er into his arms, but Fei'er, still holding Enna's corpse, took a step back.
"Don't come near me, don't come near me. My mother doesn't like me getting too close to strange men."
"If I behave well, my mother will wake up."
Fei'er blinked, and tears streamed down her face.
