Looking at the raging fire, it seemed their home was doomed.
"You dare to show your face again?"
The old Taoist priest's voice boomed in Ning Hongze's ears. "You actually dare to show your face before us?"
"Master, what's wrong with you? Why don't you dare show yourself?"
Ning Hong looked at the angry old Taoist priest and the others with a slightly puzzled expression, then suddenly had a flash of inspiration, "You suspect that we did these things?"
"Isn't that right?"
The old Taoist priest said with great sorrow.
"You promised me that you would never let your wife kill innocent people indiscriminately, so why has this town become like this the moment we left?"
A layer of demonic energy hung over the entire town, undoubtedly caused by possessed demons wreaking havoc.
“Master, it was not my wife who did it, I swear to God.” Ning Hong hurriedly explained, “I plan to leave here with her today, so we have no idea what happened here.”
"My wife only came back after she saw our house was on fire." Now he doesn't know where she is, and he must find her as soon as possible.
"Do you think I'll still believe you—" the old Taoist priest said bitterly. "It's all because I trusted you too much today and let you and your husband go, which has led to this situation."
"Master, it really wasn't me who did it."
The Taoist priest waved his whisk and pointed it directly at him.
"Hand over your wife, and I might let you go."
"Hand it over."
"Hand over the demon."
"Master, my wife really didn't do this." Ning Hong still wanted to explain clearly and didn't want to start a fight with the old Taoist priest and his group.
“If it’s not your wife, then who is it?” one of the men stepped forward and shouted.
"The mass graves around here are problematic, and Qinghe Villa is also problematic; it's either one of them."
"Nonsense! I thought you had some insights, but I didn't expect you to push them onto my Qinghe Manor." The Qinghe Manor disciple said unhappily.
"Everything I said is true. She really is not my wife."
At that moment, Ning Zhaozhao descended from the sky, one hand holding a man and the other embracing a limp woman. This woman was Ayu's mother, her clothes disheveled and her body covered in wounds.
Ning Zhaozhao's eyes turned into two colors, one black and one white.
It was even more eerie than it appeared during the day.
"Demon."
Ning Zhaozhao's hair was disheveled, and it flew up even without wind.
She bared her teeth at the person who called her a demon.
"Acha?"
Ning Hong stepped forward, blocking Ning Zhaozhao's path. "What's going on?"
“Ayu’s mother, he forced Ayu’s mother, Ayu is gone.”
At this point, Ning Zhaozhao's black and white pupils became even more distinct.
Even with a blank expression, Ning Hong could still sense Ning Zhaozhao's anger.
"Then kill them. People who take advantage of the chaos to loot are a menace even if they don't die."
“Kill him.”
Before the man could cry for help, Ning Zhaozhao twisted his neck with a sudden force.
"You, you actually dared to kill someone in front of me? You monster!"
The old Taoist priest never expected this person to be so arrogant.
With a flick of his hand, several yellow banners flew over.
Ning Zhaozhao, holding Ayu Niang, easily dodged and placed her in a corner.
"Ayu Niang, are you alright?"
"It was you, it was you who ruined us, it was your demon race."
Suddenly, Ayu's mother raised her hand and slapped him across the face.
There was a loud "snap".
Ning Zhaozhao's fair face suddenly swelled up.
She covered her face, and even though you couldn't see the emotions in her eyes, you could still sense her grievance.
She clearly saved Ayu Niang.
Why did Ayu Niang still hit her?
“Those who are not of our kind will surely have different hearts.” Ayu pushed Ning Zhaozhao away forcefully.
They punched and kicked her.
That's enough.
Ning Hong simply waved her hand and flung the person away.
"elder brother--"
She buried her head in Ning Hongze's arms, "The house is gone."
"If it's gone, it's gone. As long as you're here, anywhere can be home."
"You two actually dared to hit someone in front of me."
The old Taoist priest was furious and offered up several more yellow banners.
"I originally thought you were kind, but I never expected you to be so stubborn and unruly."
The Taoist priests and monks behind the old Taoist priest all brought out talismans and magical artifacts.
"You bunch of idiots, we already said it wasn't us. You've gone to great lengths to deal with us, but when the real enemy arrives, you'll just have to wait to die."
Green light flickered in Ning Hong's hand.
The vines quickly knocked the yellow banners and talismans to the ground.
What's going on?
"It seems you're not exactly a normal person either."
The old Taoist priest squinted his eyes.
I used to have some sympathy for you, but it's clear you don't need it.
“I’ll return those words to you exactly as they were,” Ning Hong sneered.
"A bunch of idiots."
"The people of Qinghe Manor have been possessed by demons. That's all I have to say. I came back to help save them, but it seems there's no need now."
"Zhaozhao, let's go."
Ning Hong then grabbed Ning Zhaozhao and took several steps back.
"If you want to leave, you should ask us first."
The old Taoist priest and the others all gave chase.
Only now did Ayu Niang realize that these people were supposed to be there to rescue people, but now they were all chasing after Ning Zhaozhao.
