"You really are no good people," the old Taoist priest said angrily. "I must have been blind to have mistaken you for good people."
“We were blind to have thought you were some kind of otherworldly being, but it turns out you’re just a blockhead who can’t understand human speech,” Ning Hong said, twitching her lips.
"You are no match for us here, so leave now."
Ning Hong looked down from the mass grave. Flames were shooting into the sky; the entire town was engulfed in flames.
Demonic energy soared into the sky, shrouded in a cloud of black mist.
Seeing Ning Hongze like this, the old Taoist priest subconsciously looked in the direction he was looking.
A chill ran through me.
"Oh no!" In my haste to chase after this fiend, I forgot to save the townspeople. "The townspeople—"
"They're all dead."
Ning Zhaozhao tugged at Ning Hongze's clothes and moved closer to him.
“They’re all dead.” She looked up, her white eyes faintly reddening, and her eyes were a little moist.
The demon actually cried.
"It was too late to save them, they were all dead."
Ning Zhaozhao said, feeling wronged.
The only person they saved, Ayu Niang, was slapped. She was truly wronged.
"You fiend, what are you pretending for? Didn't you kill them?"
Why would I kill them?
"How would I know why you killed them? You demons kill people without any excuse. You just kill whenever you feel like it, based solely on your own whims."
"I didn't kill anyone randomly, my brother will be unhappy."
Ning Zhaozhao retorted sternly, "Don't frame her."
If her brother stops liking her, she definitely won't let him go.
"Your brother isn't a good person either—waaaah—"
The man wanted to swear a few more times, but suddenly he uncontrollably ran forward a few steps until someone grabbed his throat and lifted him up.
He struggled desperately, trying to break free from Ning Zhaozhao's grip, but no matter how hard he struggled, he couldn't break free.
He was finding it increasingly difficult to breathe.
He kicked hard with his feet, which were already dangling in the air.
His face turned bluish-purple.
Seeing this, the old Taoist priest swung his peach wood sword and attacked Ning Zhaozhao directly.
Ning Zhaozhao stepped back and released her grip.
The area where the peach wood had struck turned black.
The man who was being choked clutched his neck, knelt on the ground, and coughed heavily.
As dusk fell, a chilling wind rose from the mass grave.
Seeing that his peach wood sword was effective, the old Taoist priest pasted a talisman on it and thrust it forward again.
Seeing this, Ning Hong used her vines to block the peach wood sword's attack.
"Do you really want to leave your lives here?"
"Are you trying to kill us all? Let me tell you, it's not that easy."
"idiot."
Ning Hong was absolutely furious with these self-righteous people.
It was getting darker and darker.
Within the mass grave, a wisp of demonic energy was wandering everywhere, omnipresent.
They seemed to be gathering together, surrounding them all in the middle.
They were eyeing them covetously, ready to devour them.
The eerie atmosphere of a mass grave is not something an ordinary person can withstand.
This is not the moment the moon emerges from the clouds.
The Taoist priests suddenly screamed as a continuous stream of demonic energy entered their bodies.
"Ahhh—"
"Master, help me!"
"master?"
The old Taoist priest froze, then quickly turned around to save those attacked by demonic energy.
"Talismans, quickly put up the talismans!"
Ning Hong looked at a person who was being held back by demonic energy. Green light shone in his hand, which directly condensed into a green longsword. He cut the demonic energy in half with one strike.
A burst of green light was slapped onto the man, sending him flying to the side.
Suddenly, a surging black mist rushed in at an extremely fast speed.
Ning Hong quickly dodged to the side, avoiding the attack.
This wisp of demonic energy, like a small snake, turned a corner and continued its attack on Ning Hongze.
But Ning Zhaozhao grabbed it and held it in her palm.
Ning Zhaozhao opened her mouth and swallowed the ball of demonic energy.
Faintly, it seemed as if a scream could be heard.
Everyone: "—"
"Dare to hurt my brother, I'll devour you all."
Ning Zhaozhao roared, and before she knew it, both of her eyes had turned completely black.
With one hand and one stroke, she swallowed all the floating demonic energy directly.
Some of the food that wasn't swallowed crashed to the ground and vanished into nothingness.
The old Taoist priest's cloudy eyes almost turned into frog eyes from staring.
"Is this woman really that powerful?"
Just as Ning Hongze had said before, they were indeed no match for the two of them. Especially in a place like this, it was like a fish in water for this demon.
Ning Hong then unleashed her vines, blocking the attacks from the other demonic and malevolent energies.
Why did you trespass on my mass grave?
A voice that was neither male nor female rang out.
"Young lady, no, brother, this is a mass grave, how can it be considered your territory?"
Ning Hong scoffed.
Are you kidding? How many years has his Ah Cha been here?
The voice remained silent.
In fact, she had already sensed a strong demonic aura emanating from this woman.
It does resemble the demonic aura of the old ancestor in that mountain cave.
She was thrown here twenty years ago.
At that time, she was on the verge of death, but fortunately, she still had a breath left.
The demonic and yin energy in this place seeped into her body, causing her to become possessed by demons.
