Chapter 6 The Abandoned Female Cannon Fodder

Judging from Ning Hongzao's familiarity with the restaurant, it was likely that she had been eating and drinking there for the past week.

If he hadn't witnessed that scene earlier, he might have been quite pleased that his sister was willing to spend money on food; that was something to be happy about.

But now that I think about it, the red dates must have been ostracized. That's why they gave up eating in the cafeteria and chose to eat at the restaurant next door.

Where is Qingqing?

Ning Hong suddenly remembered Hua Qingqing. He remembered that Aunt Hua's daughter next door seemed to be in this university as well. When they were in the countryside, they were often together. How come they became estranged in the university?

“She’s very busy.” Ning Hongzao lowered her head when Hua Qingqing was mentioned, and a hint of grievance appeared in her eyes.

"Did Hua Qingqing do something to offend you?" Ning Hong asked calmly.

"Mm." Ning Hongzao nodded.

In Ning Hongzao's eyes, her brother was omnipotent.

Hua Qingqing once had a crush on her brother, but he wasn't interested in her. Hua Qingqing even got angry at him for it.

Later, perhaps wanting to get closer to her brother, she toned down her temper and stayed by her side. However, her brother disliked her completely and recently shifted his focus to Han Qingshan.

Now that she's been admitted to university, she's become arrogant. The other day when I talked to her, her words implied that she looked down on her brother.

She even said that her brother only had a junior high school diploma and couldn't compare to her.

She has a bright future ahead of her, and her brother will surely regret it in the future.

"If I had known Hua Qingqing was this kind of person, I wouldn't have bothered with her at all," Ning Hongzao thought sullenly. It was just a pity about Aunt Hua; Aunt Hua had been quite good to her.

"But they all say you offended someone from the capital?"

"This is also because of Hua Qingqing."

When she was arguing with Hua Qingqing, Hua Qingqing pushed her. She accidentally bumped into someone else, and that girl fell to the ground, her clothes getting scratched.

Ning Hongzao hurriedly apologized, but Hua Qingqing pointed at her nose and said that she envied the girl's beautiful clothes and deliberately tried to ruin them.

That person immediately started making a scene, refusing to listen to her explanation and demanding compensation.

She said she could pay compensation, but the man pointed at her and cursed her, calling her a country bumpkin who wouldn't have that much money to pay. He even made her kneel down and apologize, saying he could consider giving her time to raise the money.

She was immediately enraged. She had already agreed to pay compensation, and yet they still humiliated her like this??????

"It's because of this incident that I've been targeted all this time."

Ning Hongzao always thought this was just a small matter, but she didn't know how it had escalated to such a big extent.

Where is Hua Qingqing?

"He's hooked up with that female student from Beijing."

Ning Hongzao pouted.

That's just how people are; they'll gravitate towards anything that's profitable. Back when we hung out together, wasn't it because I was after the snacks she had and her older brother?

Now that she's grown up, she has fewer snacks, and her brother doesn't like her anymore, so naturally she's thinking about changing her path.

Ironically, she still considered her a good friend.

Hua Qingqing was afraid they would blame her for the dress, so she directly placed all the blame on her.

Actually, she could afford to replace the clothes; after all, Ning Hongze had given her a considerable amount of vouchers and money when she brought her. However, that person's attitude, and Hua Qingqing's attitude, made her extremely unhappy.

She's not an idiot.

"Give her the money for the clothes, and don't have anything to do with her anymore." Ning Hongze was also angry, but he couldn't be by Ning Hongzao's side all the time. If something happened to her, he couldn't bear the consequences.

It's just a piece of clothing; he wouldn't even bother with it.

Of course, one could choose to let Hongzao stop studying, but it was not easy for her to get into university, especially since she was among the first batch of university students, and she was different from those in later generations.

Nowadays, there might not even be one college student in a whole village.

"I still feel resentful."

"It's alright, your brother bought you several sets of clothes. Just consider it a sacrifice to ensure your peace of mind. Your brother will go with you later."

He was worried that those people would deliberately make things difficult for Ning Hongzao if he sent her alone.

Seeing that her brother said that, Ning Hongzao nodded. She had been eating out with him for days, and he was worried sick about her.

The student offended by Ning Hongzao was a freshman in the English department named Han Xinning.

She's not particularly good-looking, but she looks vaguely familiar. I heard her parents are both from the Beijing Military Region.

At this moment, she was surrounded by a group of people and brought to the playground, where she coldly stared at Ning Hongzao standing opposite her.

"What? Ning Hongzao, you're finally willing to apologize to me?" Han Xinning raised her chin arrogantly and looked at Ning Hongzao with disdain.

"Red Date, you're finally here. I thought you and Xinning were at odds." Hua Qingqing stood next to Han Xinning, a smug smile on her face.

See? In the end, we still have to bow down to them, although mainly to Xin Ning, but she's also there, isn't she?

She'd disliked her for a long time. They were both country girls, so why did she get to live such a good life?

"Yes, I admit defeat. If we eat out again, I won't be able to afford it anymore." Ning Hongzao sighed softly. "I'll cover the clothes for you. Let's stop here, okay?"

"Hmph, do you think you can afford to pay for my clothes? Don't think that just because you have a piece of junk, you can compare it to my clothes."

That dress was her favorite; it was bought for her by her aunt from the Overseas Chinese Shopping Mall.

Ning Hongzao gritted her teeth.

Ning Hongze stood outside the door, looking at Ning Hongzao like this, and felt a little bad. Otherwise, she would not apologize. At worst, she would just change schools.

He was about to step forward and pull Ning Hongzao back when he saw that Ning Hongzao seemed to know what he was thinking and shook her head slightly at him.

"Look, these two outfits were bought for me by my brother, they're brand new. Pick one for yourself." Ning Hongzao unfolded the clothes.

As soon as the clothes were unfolded, the female students present all gasped softly.

"So beautiful."

"Wow, this outfit is really nice!"

"Xinning, the dress on the right is beautiful and complements your skin tone perfectly."

"No, I think the one on the left looks better."

Han Xinning hesitated for a moment, compared the two dresses, and then took the one on the left.

Although she wanted to say more, she also knew that these two dresses were even more beautiful than the ones she had seen at the Overseas Chinese Shopping Mall.

The quality is just as good.

I never expected that this country bumpkin could produce such a beautiful dress; it's truly a pleasant surprise.

Hua Qingqing, on the other hand, was so angry that she almost ground her teeth to powder.

Unexpectedly, Ning Hongzao had such a beautiful dress in her possession.

She's never taken it out before.
