"Should I call the police right now?" The neighbor woman tried to take out her phone.
"Report it, although it might be a bit too late now." Jiang Cha glanced to the side. "Next time something like this happens, please call the police immediately."
"Well, there's nothing I can do about it. When I need something, I just like to come to you," the woman said, pouting.
"You really beat me."
Jiang Cha took a deep breath and slowly walked to the opposite door.
"Miss, could you open the door? I'd like to borrow some soy sauce."
"Coming right away."
A woman's voice replied.
Upon hearing a woman's reply, both the woman and Jiang Cha were taken aback. The voice sounded normal, not like someone being coerced.
"It seems that scream was just a misunderstanding." The woman smiled awkwardly. "Luckily I didn't call the police, or it would have been embarrassing."
With a whoosh, the door was pulled open.
"Here's some soy sauce for you." Ning Hong handed over a bottle of soy sauce.
"Thank you." Jiang Cha didn't take the soy sauce, but looked up at her and smiled. "I'm sorry, Miss. My friend heard screams coming from inside and thought something had happened to you, so he asked me to check on you."
Jiang Cha couldn't help but gasp as soon as she saw the person's face clearly.
This woman is way too beautiful.
However, Ning Hongze's reaction was not much better than hers.
She stared blankly at Jiang Cha's face, a smile slowly spreading across her lips.
Acha—
She finally met Acha.
“Actually, your friend’s thinking isn’t wrong.” Ning Hong then stepped aside, revealing the situation inside the room.
"I don't know how this man broke into my house just now," Ning Hong said, clutching her clothes. "He tried to take advantage of me."
Ginger tea: "—"
That's understandable, after all, the woman in front of her is so beautiful. Uh, no, she shouldn't think that way. Being beautiful isn't a reason for someone to commit violence.
"Um, should we call the police?"
The neighbor woman quietly interjected.
"Of course we need it. Thank you so much."
Actually, she had originally planned to call the police—
The police arrived quickly and took the man away.
They didn't even recognize the man's face for a moment. He had been beaten quite badly.
This man is a wanted fugitive who has committed numerous crimes, including robbery, murder, and even rape.
Local police had been tracking him, and this time, he was caught off guard and managed to sneak into this place.
It was truly terrifying. If he had broken into an ordinary woman's home, there would likely have been another victim. Fortunately, he broke into Ning Hongze's house and was given a severe beating by her.
Ning Hongze already had a bad temper, and now that he had inexplicably turned into a woman, he hadn't even vented his anger yet. On top of that, this man was looking at him so lewdly. It was already a mercy of him not to cripple him.
Of course, the screams heard on the other side were from this man.
"This is really terrible," Jiang Cha's friend said, clutching her wildly beating chest.
"If this person had come to my house, you probably wouldn't be seeing me now."
"So, don't open the door to strangers. Well, you shouldn't open it to even people you know a little bit. Who knows if they might suddenly become ruthless?"
"That's not necessarily true. There's still a lot of love in this world."
"In short, one should not have the intention to harm others, but one should not be without the intention to guard against others. It is always better to be a little more careful."
Jiang Cha patted her friend's head and was about to leave when Ning Hong called her back.
"Have you eaten yet? Would you like to come in and have a meal together?"
How could he let Ah Cha leave like that? At the very least, they should have exchanged phone numbers or some other way of contacting each other.
"That's not a good idea."
Although the woman in front of them was very beautiful, this was their first meeting, and he was already asking her out to dinner on their very first meeting—
Jiang Cha hesitated a bit.
Of course, she couldn't deny that she had a good impression of the woman in front of her. However, she was used to being wary, so she couldn't easily let her guard down.
"It's alright, we've been neighbors for so many years." Jiang Cha's good friend, Hu Xuehui, put her arm around Jiang Cha's shoulder and led her into Ning Hongze's house. Hu Xuehui and Ning Hongze had been neighbors for four years, but she rarely saw Ning Hongze. She mostly saw her younger sister, or rather, her younger sister, who was wearing a high school uniform.
"Xuehui? This isn't really appropriate." Going to someone's house for a meal like this is a bit too shameless.
After all, they didn't really help anyone.
"This—" That makes some sense, doesn't it? It's just such a waste not to eat it. It wasn't a problem before, but lately, she's been frequently smelling delicious aromas coming from across the street.
The aroma made her mouth water.
However, the two families were only casual acquaintances and did not have much interaction. At most, they would nod to each other when they met.
Therefore, she felt embarrassed to go to their door.
Today is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so she's determined to try this meal no matter what.
Hu Xuehui thought for a moment.
"Wait for me a moment."
She quickly turned around, found a fruit basket at home, and stuffed it with some fruit and pastries.
He brought it out again.
