Chapter 477 Becoming Deskmates

It happened to be the break time, and the corridors of the teaching building were crowded with students. Xie Qi followed Yu Ze closely, walked through the bustling crowd, and soon arrived at the door of Class 2, Grade 3.

However, just as Yu Ze stepped out of the back door of the classroom, three people suddenly appeared in front of him, blocking his way and preventing him from entering the classroom.

"Yu Ze, where have you been? I asked you to bring me a bottle of water. You actually missed two classes?" One of them yelled with an unhappy look on his face.

As he spoke, he stretched out his hand, intending to give Yu Ze a hard shove. However, Yu Ze's reaction was extremely fast, and he nimbly dodged the push with ease by moving sideways.

The other party obviously did not expect Yu Ze to hide, and was a little angry and embarrassed for a moment. He widened his eyes and wanted to teach him a severe lesson again.

However, before he could make a move, Xie Qi pulled Yu Ze behind him from outside the door and steadily caught the other's fist.

Xie Qi's face was as gloomy as water, his eyes were cold, and he shouted at the three people without any courtesy: "Get out of the way! Don't block the road!"

The three people were frightened by Xie Qi's sudden momentum, especially when they saw Xie Qi's coldness, they felt even more timid.

Xie Qi turned around, looked at Yu Ze, took a breath and asked, "Where are you sitting?"

Yu Ze just walked into the classroom silently, then went straight to the last row of seats by the window and sat down slowly.

Seeing this, Xie Qi ignored the three classmates and followed them in.

Xie Qi then noticed that the other students in the class were sitting at two tables together, while Yu Ze was sitting alone in the back row, which made him feel isolated from the whole class.

The other students in the classroom also looked at Xie Qi, the unfamiliar classmate, in confusion, but some of them quickly recognized Xie Qi as the classmate on the school's confession wall.

But the question is why did this student come to their class? And why was he following that illegitimate child?

At this moment, the sports committee member came in from the back door carrying a set of tables and chairs, and the class monitor came in with a few new books. As soon as they came in, they saw Xie Qi standing behind them.

Class monitor: "Classmate, you are the transfer student Xie Qi that the homeroom teacher mentioned, right? You've arrived just in time. We just moved your desk and chair over. Here are your new books."

Xie Qi nodded slightly and took the book: "It's me, thank you." His voice was not loud, but the whole classroom could hear it clearly.

The students immediately started discussing it out of curiosity.

"Oh my god, class monitor, why didn't you tell us earlier that we were going to have a transfer student?"

"Which school did you transfer from? Why would someone suddenly transfer to another school in their senior year?"

"Just look at that face and you'll know he's a top student."

"You girls only care about looks, how superficial."

"Tsk, if you look good, we'll look at you too."

When the class monitor heard what they said, he explained, "The homeroom teacher just asked us to go to the office to discuss this matter. After that, we went to help the new students move their things. How could we have time to talk to you?"

After the class monitor finished speaking, he looked at Xie Qi and said, "Xie Qi, senior year has already started for a month. You just transferred here and you may not be able to keep up with the courses. The homeroom teacher asked you to sit with me to catch up on the courses."

After the monitor finished speaking, his former deskmate suddenly said, "Oh, no. Monitor, I'm your deskmate after all, where should I go?"

The monitor was a little embarrassed. "Liu Wei, the teacher told you to find a seat first. The college entrance examination is coming soon, and we should take care of the new students, right?"

However, what was unexpected was that Xie Qi moved his desk next to Yu Ze without hesitation and became Yu Ze's deskmate.

Then, he sat down steadily, with a smile on his face, and said, "Class monitor, no need to bother. We just happen to be short of a deskmate here. I'll sit here."

The classmates in the class were stunned when they saw this scene, and there was silence for a while.

After a long while, the monitor came back to his senses and said hesitantly, "Uh, classmate, the monthly exam is in a few days. Is it really okay to sit in this seat?"

Xie Qi didn't seem to take the monthly exam seriously at all. He replied casually, "It's okay. I think sitting here is fine."

Seeing Xie Qi's persistence, the squad leader couldn't say anything more. He shrugged helplessly and said, "Okay, if you need any help, you can ask me anytime. My name is Lu Mingyuan."

Xie Qi smiled and nodded, indicating that he understood.

After the squad leader turned and left, Xie Qi turned his head and cast his gaze towards Yu Ze. Yu Ze lowered his head and stared at the table in silence.

Xie Qi couldn't help but feel curious, and he couldn't help but move closer to see what Yu Ze was looking at. When his eyes fell on the table, he finally saw what Yu Ze was staring at.

The desk had been maliciously carved with a sharp object, filled with many vicious words. The words were shocking and infuriating. Words like "illegitimate child, die," "bitch," and "bastard" were written on it, along with other unbearable words.

At this moment, Xie Qi realized that the bullying Yu Ze suffered was not limited to physical beatings, but more likely included mental harm.

Seeing Yu Ze as if he was already immersed in his own world and motionless, Xie Qi sighed helplessly. Since he had chosen her as his deskmate, he should be responsible until the end. He was free anyway.

So, Xie Qi stood up, reached out and pulled the table he had just placed away from Yu Ze's table.

The other students in the class witnessed this scene, and an expression of "as expected" appeared on their faces.

After all, after seeing the vicious words engraved on Yu Ze's desk, I'm afraid no classmate would be willing to sit at the same table with him.

However, what happened next left everyone dumbfounded.

Xie Qi did not sit somewhere else as everyone expected, but unexpectedly pulled Yu Ze's desk out again, and then placed his new desk steadily in front of Yu Ze.

Finally, Xie Qi moved Yu Ze's table, which was engraved with vicious words, in front of him and sat back down as if nothing had happened.

After Xie Qi had finished all this, he breathed a sigh of relief. Now that the other party had lowered his head, he probably wouldn't be able to see the words, so he should feel better.

However, Yu Ze turned his head to look at Xie Qi's actions, and he couldn't understand why he went to such trouble to change his table. Besides, he didn't bow his head because he was sad, he just didn't want to talk to these kids.

At this moment, Xie Qi took out Yu Ze's book from the cabinet and was about to hand it to him, but he found that there were also vicious words written on the book by someone else.

Xie Qi frowned as he put Yu Ze's book away. He then handed his new book to Yu Ze and said, "Let's exchange books. I just transferred to another school and haven't caught up on many of my courses. The notes you took in your book might be helpful to me."

Yu Ze looked at the book that was exchanged, still silent and not wanting to talk.

When Xie Qi saw Yu Ze's expression, he sighed. He didn't expect that he would encounter such a bad thing just after transferring to another school.
