Chapter 316 Sword Dao Sect (5)

The grand competition was fast approaching, and it would be held at the Spirit Sword Sect. After all, the Spirit Sword Sect had an alliance leader, so their status naturally rose accordingly.

All the participating sects were those that practiced swordsmanship, with the Spirit Sword Sect holding an absolute advantage. Not only was their reputation widespread, but many exceptionally talented individuals came specifically to compete. Take Ling Xue, for example; her ten top disciples, along with numerous other disciples and grand-disciples, were all rare talents.

Therefore, no other sect didn't covet the Spirit Sword Sect. Of course, they had tried to poach its talent, but ultimately, they couldn't fight city hall. Later, whenever the Spirit Sword Sect set its sights on a child, no other sect dared to lay a finger on them.

And so, the Spirit Sword Sect grew ever stronger, while other sword-wielding sects could only decline. Especially in the last few centuries, the Spirit Sword Sect had begun to harbor ambitions to dominate the cultivation world. The Sword Alliance was no longer enough for the Spirit Sword Sect; they wanted to rule the cultivation world.

The Sword Dao Sect had always been the least noticeable sect, and since Ling Xue had almost become a disciple of the Sword Dao Sect, they showed some consideration. Compared to the difficult survival of other sword sects, the Sword Dao Sect was much better off.

In fact, Android knew that the Spirit Sword Sect's current inaction was only temporary. He could see Ling Xue's ambition; sooner or later, she would rule the sword path and eventually challenge other alliances to achieve dominance.

"What are the prizes for this competition?" Leng Yue was quite curious, looking at the huge crowd in the square and watching Jian Xin with great interest.

Actually, Anzhuo was supposed to come along this time, but Jianxin was worried about the sect. After all, Anzhuo was the only patriarch in the entire Sword Dao Sect, and he couldn't leave the sect at will. Therefore, Jianxin became Lengyue and Qianchen's temporary guide.

"I heard it's a Phoenix Tear." The Sword Dao Sect always actively participates in various competitions, but they always come in last place. Over time, Sword Heart, as the sect leader, stopped caring about the prizes for the competitions.

This cultivation world is unlike the modern world, where every participant receives a prize. Even if you don't place, you'll still get a consolation prize or a certificate of honor. Here, if you don't make it into the top three, you go back the way you came.

First place is out of the question; it's always the Spirit Sword Sect disciples who win. While other sects might manage to get second or third, the Sword Dao Sect can't even manage that. Jian Xin knows the sect's rules and initially tried to persuade Anzhuo to let the strongest disciples compete. However, Anzhuo refused every time.

Over time, Kenshin truly came to believe Ling Xue's words: "Friendship first, competition second!"

In fact, when Jianxin first heard this sentence, he wanted to retort, "Your Lingjian Sect is number one, so friendship is number one. But if your Lingjian Sect doesn't get number one, then there's no friendship, right?" Of course, he could only think it in his heart. If he actually said it out loud, Ling Xue wouldn't even need to lift a finger; the men around her would chop him up!

As time went on, Jianxin lost all interest in various competitions. He had come to realize that compared to other sects under the jurisdiction of the Spirit Sword Sect, their Sword Dao Sect was already far better off in terms of being able to survive.

Before Leng Yue could figure out what Phoenix Tears was, the square suddenly stirred. A woman in red, riding a golden eagle, had appeared in the center of the square. The woman was stunningly beautiful, exuding a sharp aura; she was clearly no pushover.

Seven or eight men stood beside the woman. Each man had his own unique features: some were gentle and refined, others were sunny and handsome, still others were dashing and debonair… a diverse array, each with their own charm. But they all shared one thing in common: they were handsome. Moreover, none of these men took their eyes off the woman, which Leng Yue found strange.

"Is that woman Ling Xue?" Leng Yue whispered to Jian Xin.

“Yes,” Kenshin nodded.

"Are those men her tenth disciple?" Leng Yue asked again.

“No,” Kenshin glanced at the center of the square, his expression unreadable, “he is Ling Xue’s confidant.”

"Pfft!" Leng Yuezhen regretted her impulsive act of drinking water. Wiping her mouth, she looked at Jianxin, "Really?"

“Really.” Jianxin saw Ling Xue and the others looking this way and said, “Ancestor, we shouldn’t mess with her. Let’s stop discussing this.”

“Oh,” Leng Yue nodded, but then noticed that Ling Xue had already walked towards them, and then she saw that she walked straight up to Qian Chen.

"Are you new here? You look a bit unfamiliar." Ling Xue didn't care about the gazes of others at all, and reached out to lift Qian Chen's chin, but Qian Chen dodged to the side.

“Please have some self-respect, young lady,” Qian Chen said as he approached Leng Yue and hugged her. “My wife will be jealous if you do this.”

"You know that's good!" Leng Yue put her hands on her hips and didn't get up from Qian Chen's embrace, looking at Ling Xue as if asserting her ownership.

“Sorry, this man is mine,” Leng Yue said, glancing at Ling Xue and then at the man behind her. She raised an eyebrow. “Besides, I only have one husband, and I won’t just let him go.”

"Is that so?" Ling Xue remained calm and composed, but replied softly, "That's a pity. Anything that I, Ling Xue, set my sights on, I can have."

“I believe in my husband,” Leng Yue said calmly, without getting angry.

"Alright, let's wait and see." Ling Xue said, turning and leaving. She walked ahead alone, followed by a variety of stunningly handsome men; with that kind of entourage, she would be worthy of being the most beautiful woman in the entire place!

"What? Are you angry?" Qian Chen teased Leng Yue deliberately when he saw that she was not speaking. "Jealous? You little jealous pot?"

"You're the jealous one!" Leng Yue turned around to face Qian Chen, then reached out to pinch Qian Chen's cheek. Because of the height difference, she had to stand on tiptoe to reach it. While pinching Qian Chen's cheek, she complained, "It's all your fault! You're such a flirt, it's infuriating!"

"Still saying you're not jealous?" Qianchen chuckled as he removed Leng Yue's hand from his face, then sat her down in a chair with his arms around her, and said with a smile, "I don't like that kind of thing. You're the only one in my heart."

"Really?" Leng Yue raised an eyebrow, her eyes full of laughter, but her words were unyielding. "Such a beautiful woman, coming to your door of her own accord, and you're not tempted?"

"How dare I?" Qianchen deliberately put on a mournful face. "There's a tigress in my family. Let alone a great beauty, even if a fairy descended from heaven stood in front of me, I wouldn't dare to look at her!"

"You don't dare?" Leng Yuexing's eyes widened, clearly dissatisfied with the answer.

Seeing that the time was right and that going any further would really anger Leng Yue, Qian Chen quickly changed his tune, "It's not that I'm afraid, it's that I don't like it. My heart can only hold you. Feel it."

Qianchen grasped Lengyue's hand and placed it on his heart. "Look, does it beat only for you?"

"Bullshit, how could you live if you didn't jump?" Leng Yue's words were venomous, but she bit her lip to keep from laughing.

Qianchen shook his head. He was indeed a stubborn mule...
