"Qianchen, where are you?" The first thing Leng Yue did after waking up was to look for Qianchen.
Qianchen replied, "I'm here. Yueyue, how are you?"
"I'm fine," Leng Yue said, touching her head. "I just have a bit of a headache."
“Me too,” Qianchen said, making a hissing sound. Lengyue was worried, so she walked towards Qianchen.
"Oh dear, how did I turn into a child?" Leng Yue exclaimed in surprise.
Qianchen looked at her hands. "You've shrunk. Then you... Yueyue, you... I... I've shrunk too."
"What's going on?" Leng Yue was completely bewildered. "Where are we?"
Qianchen looked around and realized they were in a forest below a cliff, with no one else around. Qianchen thought for a moment, "Let's go outside and see what kind of place this is."
"The leaves are more lush over there, so this is the north. Should we go south or north?" Leng Yue asked Qian Chen in a soft voice.
“There’s a cliff to the west, let’s head east and see.” Qianchen chose a direction, “I feel like someone should appear over there.”
Leng Yue nodded, took Qian Chen's hand, and walked forward. "Tell me, how did we turn into children?"
"Could it be that these two children just happened to be nearby, and we replaced them?" Qianchen didn't understand either. "They don't have any memories of them, right?"
Leng Yue nodded, "My mind is blank, I have no memory at all." Leng Yue was helpless. When doing missions, at least there was a plot and she could accept the original owner's memories, but now she couldn't accept them.
"Don't worry, these two children are probably lost. Someone should be coming to find them soon," Qian Chen gently comforted Leng Yue, unaware that he himself was just a cute little kid and had no real persuasive power.
Both of them are still young, and they feel very tired and sleepy after walking only a short distance.
"Yueyue, don't sleep, it's not safe." Qianchen felt that they must be in a primeval forest; he had even heard wolves howling just now.
"Okay, okay, I won't sleep," Leng Yue said, nodding repeatedly.
"There seems to be a cave over there, let's go take a look." Qianchen saw that the sky was getting darker and darker, and knew that they couldn't go any further. They were both children, and they were in a primeval forest, so it would be very dangerous to walk at night.
“Okay,” Leng Yue let Qian Chen pull her along, yawning incessantly.
Fortunately, the cave that Qianchen discovered could indeed accommodate them.
"I'm so cold," Leng Yue said as she nestled in the small cave with Qian Chen to rest, but she felt colder and colder.
Their clothes were all tattered and torn, and the temperature in the forest was low. They had been walking and were fine, but once they stopped, they felt cold.
"I'll go find some branches," Qianchen said, putting Lengyue aside as he prepared to go find some branches.
Leng Yue stopped Qian Chen, saying, "This Qiankun bag is still usable. I have some good things on me, so there's no need for me to go."
When Leng Yue felt cold, she remembered that she had asked Ling to prepare emergency supplies for her, as well as some special medicines.
In her previous life, she was constantly at war, and all sorts of unexpected situations could arise on the battlefield, so Leng Yue had prepared a lot of supplies. However, before she could even use them, she arrived in this world. Now, they no longer need to survive in the wilderness.
"It wasn't swallowed?" Qian Chen was extremely surprised as he watched Leng Yue take things out one by one. "It's okay even without Zero and the Space?"
"I didn't know that before. It seems this Qiankun bag, like other things, can follow my soul. I didn't expect it to play a role at such a crucial moment. It seems I'll have to prepare more things to put in it in the future." Leng Yue shook the Qiankun bag, her face full of relief.
“That’s true, but can things from other places be stored there?” Qianchen nodded at first, then became doubtful.
"It's alright, I packed it before, it's pretty good, more convenient than a refrigerator." Leng Yue smiled. "A small stove, sleeping bags, fruit, medicine, and bread and milk. Okay, everything's ready!"
"This is really convenient, like a treasure chest." Qian Chen laughed from the side. He hadn't paid much attention when Leng Yue occasionally took out medicine or something before. Now, when he was tired and hungry, seeing these things again made him really happy.
"Oh dear, I forgot something!" Leng Yue was feeling smug when she suddenly stopped.
"What?" Qian Chen was startled by Leng Yue.
"The Anywhere Door is gone!" Leng Yue exclaimed. "It disappeared right after we arrived here. We didn't think of it before. What are we going to do?"
Qianchen looked outside; it was completely dark. Finding the Anywhere Door now was unlikely, so he comforted Lengyue, "Rest for a bit, we'll go look for it first thing tomorrow morning."
It was pitch black outside, filled with a terrifying atmosphere, and impossible to find anything.
Suddenly, a wolf howl rang out, and several pairs of green eyes appeared at the entrance of their cave.
"A wolf?" Leng Yue was startled.
"Yueyue, bring me the dagger!" Qianchen shielded Lengyue behind him, watching the cave entrance warily.
"Don't go, we can't beat them." Leng Yue took a deep breath, but still handed the dagger to Qian Chen, then said, "This is the only thing we can try!"
Qian Chen didn't have time to look back. Holding the dagger in both hands, he dared not move. But the wolves at the cave entrance were clearly not afraid of them, nor of their daggers.
The alpha wolf, like a king, walked step by step into the cave. He strolled leisurely, looking down on everything.
Suddenly, Leng Yue shouted, "Hidden!" At the same time, the alpha wolf appeared in front of Qian Chen.
But for some reason, after sniffing the air, the alpha wolf didn't pounce. Just as Qian Chen was wondering about this, the alpha wolf suddenly turned and left.
The alpha wolf took a few steps, then looked back in confusion, but ultimately led the pack away, disappearing after a few leaps.
"Can it still be used? Is it alright?" Qianchen was very worried. Lengyue was still just a child, and it was not good to force her to use Taoist magic like this.
Leng Yue was pale and swaying precariously. "Thank goodness it worked!"
Qianchen helped Lengyue sit down on the sleeping bag that had been laid out. "Rest for a bit, and drink your milk." Qianchen felt sorry for Lengyue.
Leng Yue finished her milk in big gulps, and her complexion improved. Qian Chen then opened the bread and handed it to her. Leng Yue pushed it away, saying, "I can't eat anymore. You should eat something; I can hear your tummy growling."
As soon as Leng Yue finished speaking, Qian Chen's stomach rumbled again. The two looked at each other and burst into silly laughter.
"I can't eat anymore. Let me eat bread after the milk is digested." Leng Yue is still a child and doesn't have a big appetite, so she can't eat too much at once.
Qianchen nodded and sat down next to Lengyue, munching on his bread. He was really hungry, and finished the bread in just a few bites.
Leng Yue laughed again, "Eat slowly. You're not an adult anymore. Eating too fast will cause indigestion." After saying that, Leng Yue opened a carton of milk for Qian Chen.
Qianchen took the milk, glanced at Lengyue, and hesitated, as if he wanted to say something but then stopped.
"What's wrong?" Leng Yue noticed Qian Chen's expression was off. "Did you choke?"
Qian Chen smiled, shook her head, and said, "No, I'm fine. I just wanted to say, I'm sorry, thank you!"
“I thought you were going to say ‘I’m sorry, I love you’. You scared me just now. Thank goodness, hahaha…” Leng Yue said, patting her chest.
Seeing Leng Yue like this, Qian Chen smiled as well.
