Chapter 170 The Girl's 101st Deaths (10)

Back in the classroom, Leng Yue's classmates behind her asked her why she suddenly jumped up. Leng Yue said it was because she saw a brick fall. The two girls behind her looked at Leng Yue with increasingly complicated expressions, only saying dryly, "Whatever makes you happy," before refusing to speak to her again.

"Why did they ask that?" Leng Yue asked Wan Jiaxiang in a low voice.

Wan Jiaxiang looked at her with a complicated expression, remained silent for a long time, and then whispered, "There's no brick like you mentioned..."

"How is that possible? I clearly saw it..." Leng Yue turned around to look around, but found no trace of the fallen brick. At this point, Leng Yue finally realized what had happened and couldn't help but curse, "Damn it, the rules of the game have changed!"

"Are you hallucinating because you're too tired? Do you want to take a day off and go home to rest?" Wan Jiaxiang didn't know what to say, but he felt that Leng Yue was probably hallucinating because she was overworked.

Leng Yue glanced at Wan Jiaxiang, hesitated, and finally shook her head, "No need, you don't need to worry about me."

Then, Leng Yue resumed her desk-slumping routine. Ten minutes before the end of evening self-study, the countdown began to play in her ears again.

Leng Yue reflexively looked up, only to see the ceiling fan above her slamming down. Leng Yue was conflicted, unsure whether she should dodge, because she didn't know if this was just her imagination.

Finally, Leng Yue gritted her teeth and decided to fight to the death rather than dodge. She stood motionless, like a mountain, quietly waiting for the fan to come on. However, while waiting, Leng Yue suddenly felt someone push her.

With a loud crash, the fan slammed heavily onto Leng Yue's desk. However, unlike the one Leng Yue had seen, this fan was bare and had no blades.

"Are you crazy? Why didn't you hide when you saw it? Do you want to die?" Wan Jiaxiang shouted at Leng Yue, but Leng Yue just stared blankly at the smashed desk and the bladeless fan.

After a long while, when the teacher and classmates gathered around again, Leng Yue finally came to her senses. She looked at the teacher, then at her classmates, and finally at Wanjiaxiang. "I'm sorry, I'm afraid it was just a hallucination."

Wan Jiaxiang pursed her lips, and finally said in a low voice, "It's my fault, I shouldn't have said you were hallucinating." After thinking for a moment, she added, "From now on, whether it's real or not, just avoid it if you see it!"

At this moment, not only did the girl sitting behind Leng Yue look at her strangely, but the eyes of the other students also changed.

The school bell rang, and the students silently returned to their seats, quietly packed their bags, and waited for the teacher to speak.

Seeing that Leng Yue was alright, the teacher asked her a few simple questions and then had someone take the fallen fan head to the homeroom teacher's office. After saying "School's out," the teacher got up and left.

After school, the boys who had carried Leng Yue to the infirmary looked at each other, then picked up their bags and left. As they left, they glanced at Leng Yue, and Leng Yue looked back at them. They didn't speak, just nodded briefly.

After everyone left, Leng Yue remained seated. Although she could understand their actions, Leng Yue was still somewhat bothered by them.

Leng Yue laughed at herself in her heart, thinking that she had lived such a long life in vain! However, experiencing this kind of rejection again still made Leng Yue feel uncomfortable.

If she had never had it in the first place, she wouldn't have had any fantasies or felt disappointed, because she had never experienced the joy of possessing it. But once she had it and then lost it, she would truly care.

"Let's go, it's so late, aren't we leaving yet?" Wan Jiaxiang returned after leaving.

"You haven't left yet? I thought you had already left." Leng Yue's voice sounded different in the empty classroom, as if it carried a hint of loneliness.

Wan Jiaxiang stood at the back door without moving. "The teacher asked me to deliver the ceiling fan head to the homeroom teacher. You didn't know that, did you?"

Leng Yue then remembered that the teacher had asked someone to deliver the ceiling fan head. She hadn't noticed before, but it turned out that it was delivered by Wanjia Township.

"Were you waiting for me? Were you scared because you were alone?" Wan Jiaxiang deliberately mocked Leng Yue, "I didn't expect that you, who usually seem like a tough guy, could be quite a girl when it matters!"

"Hmm, I haven't thanked you for saving my life yet!" Leng Yue said casually. "What would you like to eat? It's on me!"

Wan Jiaxiang instantly understood. Without asking why the others weren't with them, he simply played along, saying, "Really? This lady is very rich! How about taking care of a younger brother?"

Leng Yue's expression was as if she had swallowed a fly. "Who taught you all this nonsense? You're so impure!"

Wan Jiaxiang laughed heartily and teased, "Big sister, you're already in high school. In two more years you'll be eighteen and a proper adult. What's this talk of purity or impurity?"

"Come on, come on, hurry up and pack up, the shop will close if we're late." Leng Yue couldn't help but urge Wan Jiaxiang on as he packed up slowly.

When the two arrived downstairs, only a few classrooms in the entire teaching building still had their lights on, and there were still a few students inside who hadn't gone home yet.

Suddenly, Leng Yue heard someone counting down, so she turned around and saw a girl standing at the classroom door on the first floor, counting down and urging the boys inside to hurry up. The boys were frantically packing their things and kept telling her to slow down.

Leng Yue breathed a sigh of relief; she was practically obsessed with the countdown. Suddenly, with a "smack," a flowerpot smashed open on Leng Yue's head. As she closed her eyes, Leng Yue couldn't help but mutter, "It's finally here."

Wan Jiaxiang almost wanted to cry. All he wanted was to find this girl quite agreeable, and to spend some time alone with her secretly. Why was there so much fuss?

Wan Jiaxiang ran like a dog again, carrying Leng Yue into the infirmary. The school doctor had already taken out his bicycle, ready to lock up and go home.

"Uncle... wait... wait..." Wan Jiaxiang put Leng Yue down and gasped for breath.

The school doctor hadn't recognized the student beforehand, but thought he looked familiar. "Come in quickly, what's wrong?"

The school doctor said, quickly opening the door and turning on the light, "Quickly put her down, I'll treat her wound... Is it you? What's wrong this time?" The school doctor's voice was noticeably raised and drawn out, clearly indicating that he was not very welcoming to them.

"My classmate...she was hit by a flowerpot...she bled a lot...blood...oh my god, blood!" Wan Jiaxiang said before fainting.

"Classmate? Classmate?" The school doctor patted Wan Jiaxiang's face, but seeing that he didn't react, while Leng Yue was still bleeding, "Never mind, just wait a bit!"

The school doctor used his equipment to disinfect and treat Leng Yue's wounds. When she showed no response, he checked her breathing and felt her pulse. "My God, this girl is dead again?"

"Should we call an ambulance? Should we find the principal?" The school doctor circled around a few times, but finally decided to call, because he couldn't afford to take responsibility if someone died.

As a result, when the ambulance and the principal arrived, Leng Yue and Wan Jiaxiang had both woken up. Both of them said they were fine and did not want to go to the hospital.

The ambulance doctor glanced at the school doctor and said, "Next time, don't call for emergency services unless it's something serious. We're very busy too. We've come twice tonight, and both times we've come empty-handed. Isn't that a bit much?"

The school doctor quickly apologized, "I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry!"

The principal was alright. After checking that the people were all fine, he said, "It's good that you're all okay. Go home early."

Finally, the group dispersed, leaving only the school doctor bewildered in the wind, wondering, "Was that girl a cat or a demon?"
