Chapter 285 Fairy Tale Town (6)

"Fairies don't need to walk, so can I carry them on my back?" Qianchen asked helplessly as he squatted down in front of Lengyue.

Seeing Qian Chen like this, Leng Yue laughed like a groundhog. But she said, "Not just anyone can carry a fairy, but... I'll give you face."

"Yes, yes, fairy, please come up." Qian Chen cooperated with Leng Yue's performance, but he didn't say that he had already seen the groundhog behind him snickering.

Leng Yue climbed onto Qian Chen's back with a reserved and shy air. "Am I too heavy?"

“Hmm,” Qianchen stood up with unusual ease, but said aloud, “Yes, fairy, didn’t you grow up drinking dew?”

"No, no, no, fairies don't eat food." Leng Yue shook her head. "Fairies eat spiritual energy."

"Oh, so it's because of the heavy spiritual energy? I can understand, I can understand!" Qianchen nodded as if to be serious, which made Lengyue pinch Qianchen's arm in anger.

"Ouch, little miss, aren't you afraid of falling?" Qianchen cried out in pain while steadily carrying Lengyue on her back.

Leng Yue beamed, "Alright, you've passed this fairy's test. From today onwards, you are this fairy's legal husband!"

"You!" Qianchen shook her head, "I've been legally married for a long time, okay?"

After Qian Chen finished speaking, Leng Yue hugged his neck and giggled. "How can you be so good to me?" Leng Yue sighed softly. No matter what, Qian Chen was always willing to consider her little thoughts, and no matter what, she could be a willful child.

"Is that all?" Qian Chen chuckled. How easily satisfied was this girl?

"Hmm, you're even better than you thought," Leng Yue said in a deep voice, a smile playing on her lips the entire time. Her lost childhood, hadn't it already been made up for by Qian Chen?

They thought the forest was vast, but as they continued walking, they realized it was just a buffer zone. The dense, thick trees made it difficult to discern distances. In fact, they had only walked about ten kilometers before leaving the forest.

After leaving the forest, Leng Yue jumped off Qian Chen. In front of them was an official road, with all sorts of vehicles traveling on it.

"It seems that as long as we're not flying, we can still use magic." Leng Yue looked at the people riding elephants, lions, and those riding magic carpets with four wheels underneath. Obviously, those four wheels were just for show, used to disguise the magic carpets as land transportation.

“Hmm, we can also disguise our flying swords.” Qian Chen also saw the various disguised land vehicles, and his lips twitched involuntarily.

What kind of world is this? Is it a magical continent? Also, the document explicitly forbids the existence of aerial transportation, so does that mean we can have magic carpets with four wheels and brooms with two wheels flying close to the ground? What kind of nonsense is this?

After they came out, people like them who only walk on two legs became the odd ones out. Leng Yue even saw a witch riding a broom on the ground laughing at them.

Leng Yue was furious. "Stop right there!" For some reason, at that moment, Leng Yue felt like she had become the villainous female supporting character who was picking a fight.

However, she couldn't care less about that now. Since she was in an unfamiliar place, she might as well find someone to ask. So, even though many people stopped and stared at Leng Yue, she didn't back down.

The witch stopped, her eyes wide with surprise, and pointed to herself. "Are you talking to me?"

“Of course,” Leng Yue slowly climbed down from Qian Chen’s back, walked up to the witch, raised her chin, and looked like a typical villainous supporting character.

"What is it?" The witch had no expression, just like the look she had given Leng Yue before, which was just her imagination.

"What kind of look was that? How dare you, someone riding a broomstick on the road, laugh at us who are walking? What's the difference between you and me?" Leng Yue got more and more into her act, wishing the other person would immediately transform into a pure and innocent heroine.

Qian Chen couldn't help but rub his forehead behind her back. He knew it; the moment Leng Yue opened her mouth, she started acting. He couldn't say anything either, lest he stop Leng Yue from having fun, or she'd throw a tantrum later.

"Oh, you noticed! I saw you being carried by him just now, and I thought you were perfectly fine but couldn't walk!" The witch looked at Leng Yue without any attempt to hide her feelings, and then said indifferently, "So you can walk? My apologies!"

Leng Yue was dumbfounded. Why wasn't the other party following the script? This was really no fun at all.

"May I go now? I have other things to do," the witch said, turning to leave.

"Wait," Leng Yue grabbed the witch.

"Is there anything else?" The witch's eyes flashed with displeasure. "If you don't give me a proper explanation, my magic wand won't let you off the hook!"

Leng Yue glanced at the black magic wand in the witch's hand, her eyes narrowed, and asked, "Where is your central city?"

"Central City? You mean Crescent Moon City?" The witch's expression hardened, and she put her magic wand back into her sleeve. She pointed casually, "Go that way, just follow the road, and you'll get there soon." After saying that, the witch left, unwilling to linger with Leng Yue any longer.

"Shall we go?" Qian Chen saw that Leng Yue was still standing there in a daze, but pedestrians and vehicles kept passing by her. He had no choice but to pull Leng Yue aside.

"What are you looking at? Is there something wrong with that witch?" Qianchen asked, worried as he noticed Lengyue staring at the witch's back.

“Let’s follow that witch.” Leng Yue took out her flying sword, and then, like the others, pretended to hang two balls below.

Qian Chen was startled by the two spheres on the flying sword, but being a man of the world, he coughed lightly and asked, "Why are we following her?"

The two jumped onto the sword and sat down. The flying sword flew on the ground, and the two chatted quietly.

“That witch is no ordinary person.” Leng Yue said, then thought for a moment, “Don’t ask me why, it’s just my intuition.”

"Alright, alright, it's just a gut feeling." Qian Chen sighed helplessly. Let it be a gut feeling. Anyway, there's no destination, so it doesn't matter where we go.

The witch continued walking, and when she reached the first fork in the road, she turned towards the less populated path. Leng Yue didn't try to hide it, openly following behind the witch. The witch glanced back at Leng Yue but didn't say anything.

Further ahead was a small wooden cabin. The witch immediately put away her broom, pushed open the door, and went inside. "Do you want to come in?" the witch asked Leng Yue before closing the door.

Leng Yue didn't say anything, simply sheathed her flying sword, and pulled Qian Chen inside. "Is this your house?"

"If it's not mine, then it's yours?" the witch retorted to Leng Yue, who remained unperturbed.

Leng Yue wandered around the house, exploring every nook and cranny. She discovered that it was exactly the same as the witch's dwelling she had seen on television. Even the cat on the windowsill was identical to the one in the show.

"Are you all alone here?" Leng Yue asked again.

"What else? You should leave as soon as you're done with your tour. I don't plan to let you stay overnight." The witch said this, but still brought over two glasses of milk. "There's no poison in them, drink them."

Qianchen thanked her and didn't touch the milk, but Lengyue drank it without hesitation. Qianchen thought Lengyue was acting strangely, and the witch also seemed surprised that Lengyue would drink it without hesitation.

Leng Yue downed her drink in one gulp, wiped her mouth afterward, and looked at the witch with a grin, "Qingluan, long time no see!"
