Chapter 253 Blood Hunters and Vampires (1) tushumi.cc

At Andrew's invitation, Leng Yue and Qian Chen went to the club. Pushing open the door, Leng Yue found that the inside was just as dilapidated as the outside, and the environment was poor.

The club was noisy; some people were arguing, some were drinking, and others were cleaning their gear.

The moment Andrew led them inside, everyone stopped and looked at Leng Yue and Qian Chen.

Just then, a short, stout man with a full beard and a long scar running from his right eye to the bridge of his nose, looking quite menacing, walked over. His tone was very unfriendly, "Andrew, who are these two?"

“Uncle Sam, this is Qian, and this is his lover Leng. They are the new hunters.” Andrew happily introduced Qian Chen and Leng Yue to Sam. He also introduced Sam to Qian Chen and Leng Yue, “This is my uncle, his name is Sam. He’s a kind old man with a slightly eccentric temper.”

“Hey, Andrew, what nonsense are you talking about?” Sam was clearly unhappy to hear Andrew call him weird.

Qianchen and Lengyue smiled at Sam and took the initiative to say, "Hello, Sam."

Sam didn't respond, but instead scrutinized Qianchen and Lengyue before turning to Andrew and saying, "Are you sure they're here to be hunters? Why are they so pale? Are they really not vampires?"

“Uncle Sam, it’s so cold outside, and they’re dressed so lightly. It’s not a big deal if they look a little pale, is it?” Andrew didn’t seem to care much and instead invited Qianchen and Lengyue to sit down together.

Sam was still worried. "If you ask me, I'll only feel at ease if you go and get the holy water. Andrew, have you forgotten how I lost this eye?"

Andrew hadn't forgotten, of course; Sam's eyes had been injured after being deceived by a vampire and ambushed. Andrew glanced at Sam, "Okay, Uncle Sam, I'll go right now."

Andrew quickly fetched the holy water and handed it to Sam. Sam took the holy water and walked to Qianchen and Lengyue. "Guests from afar, to show our utmost respect, please wash your hands with the water in this silver cup."

Leng Yue and Qian Chen exchanged a glance, then looked at Andrew, who turned away sheepishly. They understood then; what they thought was profound respect was nothing more than a test! They wondered why the old man had been so cold to them; what profound respect could he possibly have developed in less than five minutes?

Leng Yue glanced at it and noticed that the water in the silver cup was emitting a faint energy. Although it wasn't much, it was very pure, a kind of purifying power.

Leng Yue smiled gently, rolled up her sleeves slightly, and began washing the clothes. After she finished, she thanked them and smiled at Qian Chen, indicating that he was alright.

Qianchen was relieved and washed his hands as well. He discovered that the holy water indeed did not harm souls like theirs.

“It seems we really do have a physical form now.” Qianchen whispered to Lengyue in Chinese.

Leng Yue nodded, "I think so too. In that case, we can use our spells too."

Qianchen nodded. He hadn't used magic in many years. However, he had learned some when he was with the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha. Now, even if he didn't study it further, he should be able to use it without any problems after a little practice.

"There's no spiritual energy here, so I can't cultivate." Qian Chen secretly tried it out and found that the turbid energy here was too heavy, making it unsuitable for cultivation.

"This should be the darkest time in the West. Where would there be any spiritual energy?" Leng Yue had long heard about the dark Middle Ages in the West. Although she couldn't be sure yet, she knew that things were definitely not much better now.

The Middle Ages were the darkest period in Europe's history, rife with disease, war, and riots, and vampires rampaged and attacked humans. It was for this reason that the Pope united the people to fight against vampires.

At times like these, let alone spiritual energy, even the air itself might not be clean.

"We must be careful. We came to this world to find the bead, and we can't get involved in the war here." Leng Yue's goal was clear: to find the bead. She didn't want to get involved in the vampire's holy war.

Qianchen nodded, "But I think since we don't have any clues, we might as well follow them around and ask around if we have the chance. Maybe they'll know something."

"Yes, yes, you're right." Leng Yue realized that neither of their two beads had been found intentionally. They were discovered accidentally for other reasons!

Therefore, Leng Yue felt that Qian Chen's words made sense. That's how it is when you're looking for something; it's hard to find when you're actually looking, but it will appear on its own when you're not. So, instead of running around aimlessly, it's better to let things take their natural course.

"Hello, my name is Charlotte. May I dance with you?" Seeing that Qianchen and Lengyue didn't react to the holy water, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. It wasn't just because of their striking appearances that some people had already begun to set their sights on them.

The girl who struck up a conversation with Qianchen was very hot. She reached out to Qianchen, but her gaze lingered on Leng Yue, as if mocking her flat figure, her eyes filled with provocation.

To everyone's surprise, Leng Yue didn't even glance at Charlotte, but instead looked at Qian Chen with a half-smile, "A beauty, huh?"

Qianchen shook his head and sighed, "You little jealous pot, can any beauty be as beautiful as my wife?"

Qianchen ruffled Lengyue's long hair, then turned to Charlotte, smiling politely but distantly, "I'm sorry, I'm already taken. I can only dance with my wife."

Charlotte never expected to be rejected by a man, especially considering she was the most beautiful girl in the club. Normally, men would go to great lengths to get a dance with her. She never imagined that she, who was always so successful, would be rejected for the first time.

Charlotte was furious, but the man before her hadn't once looked at her. Even her figure, which she was so proud of, was completely ignored by him.

Charlotte stormed back to her seat, only to be mocked by her nemesis Lily as soon as she sat down.

"Charlotte, you finally got your comeuppance? You deserve it!" Lily was so gloating because that's how Charlotte had lured her boyfriend away.

Charlotte has always been a troublemaker, relying on her good figure and looks. Today is the first time Lily has seen Charlotte get the short end of the stick, and regardless, she feels a sense of revenge!

Lily approached Leng Yue and extended her hand. "Hello, my name is Lily."

Leng Yue looked at Lily, a girl of Asian descent. She had black hair, tanned skin, and gave off a healthy vibe; her smile was genuine.

"Are you from the East?" Leng Yue shook hands with him.

Lily shook her head. "My father is Asian, my mother isn't, but I look more like my father."

Leng Yue nodded. "My name is Leng Yue, and I am from the East."

“I know, I could tell you were an Eastern girl the moment you arrived. You look a lot like the people in my father’s portrait, your clothes and skin color are similar, so it’s easy to tell you apart,” Lily explained. “I came to thank you, you finally gave me some satisfaction.”

And so, to Leng Yue's bewildered gaze, she listened to Lily's melodramatic love story.
