Chapter 18: Not Knowing What's Good For You

A lot of things happened the night before, but Zhu Yuanqing slept too long during the day, so he opened his eyes early the next day.

Before he regained consciousness, he felt the gaze on his face, and when he opened his eyes, as expected, he saw Pei Xia staring at him.

Her eyes were pure and clear. Seeing Zhu Yuanqing wake up, she dived into his arms.

The man rubbed his head lightly and knew what condition he was in.

However, when I think of the gloomy and scary man at night, and then look at the big dog that knows nothing now, I really feel a different kind of confusion.

After breakfast, perhaps influenced by yesterday, everyone returned to their rooms without any prior arrangement and did not wander around at all.

Zhao Hong’s whereabouts are still unclear, but everyone has sentenced him to death in their hearts.

The successive deaths of several people cast a shadow over this bright and beautiful villa, and even the most delicious dishes tasted like chewing wax.

Watching them leave the restaurant one after another, Zhu Yuanqing sat on the chair, propped up his head and glanced at the person who was diligently eating buns at the table. After he swallowed the last bite, he took the person into the kitchen.

There was no one in the kitchen, but Zhu Yuanqing didn't wander around blindly. Instead, he looked around as he walked, searching for the information he wanted.

The walls and tabletops were clean and tidy, and the kitchen utensils were as clean as new and neatly arranged. Zhu Yuanqing walked slowly and stopped in front of a cabinet.

Through the glass window, a slightly tilted spoon was hanging inside. Although it was only a little crooked, it was out of tune with the knife and spoon next to it.

He didn't open the cabinet door, but just looked through the glass, and then his pupils sank slightly.

There were some slightly whitish water marks on the hemispherical surface of the spoon, and some tiny pieces of meat on it, which were not clear unless you looked carefully.

Zhu Yuanqing turned his gaze and looked at the pot beside him.

When he opened the lid, he found it very clean inside, with nothing unusual. Zhu Yuanqing bent down and saw the bottom which was a little black.

This is a sign of having been used.

And judging from the color, it must have been cooked for a long time. Combined with what I just saw, it was either stewed meat or made into soup.

"Let's go." Zhu Yuanqing grabbed Pei Xia's hand, which wanted to touch other things, and took him out of the kitchen.

As soon as he arrived at the lobby, Li Dapeng, who had come downstairs at some point, stood up and said in surprise, "You're here?"

Zhu Yuanqing looked around suspiciously, and found that there was no one here except himself and Pei Xia. He asked uncertainly, "Are you talking to me?"

Li Dapeng rubbed his hands and nodded quickly: "Yes, I am talking to you."

"Um...did you find anything when you went to the kitchen just now?" he asked.

"If you want to know, just go and see for yourself." Zhu Yuanqing replied.

The smile on Li Dapeng's face froze.

Zhu Yuanqing thought he was here to inquire about Zhao Hong, and continued, "You can go in now. There's nothing inside, so it's relatively safe."

Li Dapeng scratched his head: "No, I didn't come here for this."

"I want to ask if you are interested in teaming up with me." He swallowed, glanced critically at Pei Xia behind Zhu Yuanqing, and took two steps forward.

"I've noticed these past two days that the person behind you has some mental issues, right?"

Hearing this, Pei Xia didn't know whether he understood it or not. He stretched out his hands to grab Zhu Yuanqing's shoulders, and used both hands to try to hide him in his arms.

He was very alert, his eyes fixed on Li Dapeng not far away, his face full of hostility.

Li Dapeng glanced at him with disdain and wanted to say something else, but was caught off guard by a pair of black eyes.

Suddenly a chill ran from the soles of my feet to the top of my head.

It was clearly the same face, the same person, even Pei Xia's expression hadn't changed. He was still as confused and even childish as before.

But Li Dapeng felt as if he was being stared at by something extremely dangerous, and he actually felt fear.

How could this be possible? Li Dapeng looked away and slapped himself hard in his heart.

Maybe he's seen too many unclean things these days and thinks this fool is a dangerous person.

Li Dapeng was so upset about being scared of a fool that his next words were full of derogatory and sarcastic remarks.

"I've noticed it a long time ago. There's something wrong with this idiot. He even needs you to watch him while he eats. I'm afraid he's holding you back."

"Think about it. If he were to encounter danger, you would have to go to great lengths to save him. It's already late. You should think about yourself and find a teammate who is more suitable for you."

"Although this idiot looks okay, once you get out of this survival game, you can find any man you want. Why bother hanging around this idiot every day?"

He kept calling Zhu Yuanqing a fool, as if the more he did so, the more it proved that his previous loss of composure was just an illusion. As Li Dapeng spoke, his words became more and more fluent, and he didn't notice that Zhu Yuanqing's gaze opposite him had turned cold.

Zhu Yuanqing held Pei Xia's hand on his arm, letting him pull him closer, and chuckled with an unclear emotion.

"He's not suitable, so who can you tell me is more suitable for me?"

Li Dapeng thought he was attracted by his proposal and quickly said, "Of course it's me! You see, you have good brains and I have great strength. We are a perfect match."

Afraid Zhu Yuanqing wouldn't believe him, he raised his arms to show off his shoulder muscles. "I'm a fitness coach in the real world. Follow me, and I promise I can help you get through these seven days."
