Chapter 2 First Encounter

Zhu Yuanqing saw Muqiu jump up, like a monkey with its buttocks burned by fire.

He looked towards the entrance of the alley, as if thinking about something.

A man came towards him. He was wearing a well-made suit, a sapphire brooch on his chest, and a pair of gold-rimmed glasses on his high nose bridge. His eyes behind the lenses were dark and deep, staring at Zhu Yuanqing intently.

This man had sharp eyes and a gloomy aura, but his glasses made him look like a gentleman.

Unfortunately, the man was sitting in a silver-white wheelchair, looking somewhat vulnerable at first glance, which made the oppression seem like an illusion.

Zhu Yuanqing had been on high alert since the man appeared. His eyes just casually swept over the wheelchair and soon focused on the pair of black eyes.

Just like there can only be one lion king on a grassland, Zhu Yuanqing's nonchalant attitude finally changed.

He felt the long-lost sense of having found a worthy opponent in this person.

The two looked at each other and saw the same interest in each other's eyes, completely forgetting about Mu Qiu next to them.

"Um... Uncle, I was just joking with my friend..." Mu Qiu stood straight and said timidly, "Why are you here?"

Zhu Yuanqing was the first to look away, and the story of this "uncle" emerged in his mind.

The old man of the Mu family originally had only one incompetent son, but he eventually had another son in his old age and named him Mu Honghui, which means to have lofty ambitions and to shine like the sun.

Mu Honghui lived up to everyone's expectations and led the Mu family to prosperity. For a time, he stood at the forefront of the aristocratic families and became the "President Mu" that everyone had to address respectfully.

A few years ago, Mu Honghui had a car accident. Until the end of the original world line, he never stood up and was always a background board that others talked about.

However, even though he is just a background character, his influence runs through the entire story. Although the Fang family has a good foundation, they still have to rely on him. He is someone that these ordinary rich second-generations cannot reach.

"Apologize." Mu Honghui glanced at his nephew who wanted to hide in the crack of the wall, and his gaze returned to Zhu Yuanqing.

His eyes moved slightly and quietly pressed against his heart.

It was as if something that had been missing for a long time had been completed here.

Mu Qiu closed his eyes and spoke even though he was reluctant.

“S-Sorry!”

It was so resounding that it sounded like a vow.

Zhu Yuanqing accepted it openly: "Be careful next time."

Mu Qiu's face froze and he was about to have another outburst. He caught a glimpse of Mu Honghui standing beside him, gritted his teeth and walked out of the alley.

His uncle looked quiet, but in fact he was swift and decisive, and his methods were very clever. Even though they were his relatives, Mu Qiu was afraid of him from the bottom of his heart.

The bodyguard who was pushing the wheelchair had left at some point, and now only Zhu Yuanqing and Mu Honghui were left in the alley, and the atmosphere was a bit heavy.

Mu Honghui said, "My last name is Mu, Mu Honghui, Mr. Xu, I'm sorry for making fun of you just now."

In front of people he had never met before, Zhu Yuanqing certainly didn't have to make an effort to maintain his original personality. He smiled, and his usually gentle eyes and brows showed a bit of evil.

"Mr. Mu, you're joking. Mu Qiu is just young. I can understand that."

What a joke, Muqiu is one year older than the original owner.

Mu Honghui showed no sign of anger, but said, "I just heard from Xiao Qiu that Mr. Xu just lost his job?"

His eyes were so dark that it was hard to tell what emotion was underneath. "I'm in need of a personal assistant. I wonder if Mr. Xu is interested?"

Zhu Yuanqing looked at him steadily and suddenly smiled.

Mu Honghui rubbed his fingertips calmly, and inexplicably felt his heart skip a beat.

Then a clear reply came from the alley—"Okay."

After exchanging contact information, the two agreed to meet the next day and then parted ways.

In the car, Mu Qiu was restless, waiting for Mu Honghui's arrangements.

Mu Honghui's expression was cold at this moment, his glasses reflecting a transparent white light, and he tapped the armrest of his wheelchair gently: "If you come to a place like this again, you won't have to leave."

Mu Qiu slumped his shoulders and said weakly, "Yeah."

Mu Honghui ignored him, closed his eyes, and wondered what he was thinking.

After they separated, Zhu Yuanqing didn't take the recent incident too seriously and went back to the house rented by the original owner.

This house was rented by the original owner after she and Xiangfang Yang got together. It has been less than a month since then, but the warmth is visible as soon as you open the door.

The rental house is not big but clean and tidy, and you can see the care put into it at a glance. Zhu Yuanqing took a box of unopened instant noodles and ate while thinking about the plot.

This was the time when Xiang Yanggang knew that Xu Mo was the real child of the Fang family. In order to show his concern, he not only agreed to the original owner's pursuit, but also moved in to live with the original owner.

He wanted to make it a done deal between them, as the original owner would definitely not break up with him based on her personality. However, the original owner was stubborn in this regard and thought it was not cautious enough. She even moved to a two-bedroom, one-living-room rental house and slept in the second bedroom.

This house was originally rented for Xiangyang. It is far away from the original owner's workplace. The original owner usually lives in the employee dormitory assigned by the company and rarely comes back at night.

After finishing the instant noodles, Zhu Yuanqing packed up all the original owner's belongings and replaced them with new ones. He then pried open his ears and heard the sound of a door opening.

"Brother Zheng, I'm home. Would you like to come in and have a glass of water?" This was Xiangfang Yang's voice.

"Thank you very much. Xiangyang, you started your own business without telling your uncle and aunt. It must be hard to live alone, right?"

"I'm not tired. With your help, Brother Zheng, I feel much more relaxed."

"That's your own hard work. The house looks nice..."

How could it be good? It was arranged by the original owner himself.

The voices of the two people outside became clearer and clearer. Xiang Fangyang called him Brother Zheng affectionately. Zhu Yuanqing grasped the door handle and pushed the door open with a click.

The room suddenly became quiet.
