Chapter 6: The Beautiful Little Lion

The moment Zhu Yuanqing saw Kong Wenhan bending over with his hands covering his head, he knew that he was unreliable.

The mental attack on an unprepared person would cause extraordinary pain, no better than when he first arrived in this world.

But he didn't have time to pay attention to the situation on Kong Wenhan's side. The gold zombie in front of him had its hands and arms covered with metal sheets, and this broken knife couldn't cut it at all.

There were other zombies surrounding them. Zhu Yuanqing kicked it in the side, dodged the attack of another zombie, and quickly ran towards Kong Wenhan.

His target was the psycho zombie.

One zombie after another blocked the road. Zhu Yuanqing had no intention of getting entangled with them. He avoided them while leaving behind several struggling bodies on the ground. The mental power in his brain suddenly sounded an alert.

The spiritual zombie seemed to grin at him.

Fluctuations of mental power pressed down from all directions. Zhu Yuanqing was tense and built a high wall in his brain, waiting for the coming oppression.

Then, as he was on full alert, the high-seated psychic zombie suddenly let out a hoarse "ho ho ho" sound, waving its arms and legs desperately. Under Zhu Yuanqing's gaze—

With a "bang", it was compressed into a pile of rotten meat.

At the same time, the knife in Zhu Yuanqing's hand seemed to be unable to withstand the pressure anymore and broke into two pieces with a snap.

"Hey, look what I found?"

A male voice with a strong smile sounded in his ears. Zhu Yuanqing's hair moved slightly, and his earlobe seemed to be stroked by an invisible hand.

The voice was clear and teasing, and it drifted into my ears along the air flow.

"A beautiful little lion..."

Zhu Yuanqing's pupils shrank slightly, and he swung the half-broken knife in his hand towards the source of the sound. Before he could see the situation clearly, a solid body attached to his back.

"What a bad temper."

"Let go." Zhu Yuanqing said coldly. He raised his elbow and struck back, but was blocked by a hand.

"I just saved you once, how can you treat your savior like this?" Chen Mu sidestepped the kick from the person in front of him and stretched out his leg to grab Zhu Yuanqing's leg.

"What a great figure."

Where did this pervert come from? Zhu Yuanqing's forehead was throbbing with veins, but his legs and arms were all bound, so he could only stay in the man's arms obediently.

The person in his arms finally became obedient. Chen Mu smiled widely and glanced at Kong Wenhan, who hadn't straightened up yet. He said, "Look, isn't this Captain Kong from the coastal base? Why is he so embarrassed?"

The severe pain in his brain faded away, and Kong Wenhan stood up with cold sweat on his forehead. The overwhelming flames engulfed the tall zombie that was left behind.

Turning around, Zhu Yuanqing was trapped in the arms of a smiling man. There were no zombies around them, and there were piles of flesh on the ground.

He squinted his eyes, feeling relieved on the one hand, but inexplicably annoyed by the scene before him on the other.

"Chen Mu."

"Hiss..." A needle-like mental force pierced straight into his temple. The smile on Chen Mu's face twisted uncontrollably twice, and the strength in his arm loosened.

Zhu Yuanqing broke free from his arms, the blush on her face from the intense exercise disappeared completely, and her face was filled with unconcealable fatigue.

"How cruel." After a moment of trance, Chen Mu completely ignored the pain in his temple and smiled as he approached again.

"Meeting is fate. My name is Chen Mu. What's your name, little lion?"

Zhu Yuanqing ignored the strange man chattering behind him and said to Kong Wenhan, "The matter has been resolved. I'll get in the car first."

"Okay, you go up and rest first." Kong Wenhan saw that he was not in good condition. "I'll have Zhang Yu collect the crystal cores and bring them up."

Zhu Yuanqing nodded, and seeing that the man who called himself Chen Mu was about to catch up again, he turned back and warned: "Don't follow."

Chen Mu took a step forward and actually stayed still.

"Okay, I won't follow you. You just have a good rest." He was even a little nervous.

Zhu Yuanqing walked towards the car, and Chen Mu stood there looking at him, his body motionless, his eyes full of worry.

If I had known that the little lion was not feeling well, I would not have teased him.

Seeing that he looked eagerly, Kong Wenhan felt uncomfortable and reached out to pat his shoulder.

This is an action that Kong Wenhan and his teammates often perform, but what he didn't expect was that the second after he stretched out his hand, a rotating air blade suddenly appeared between the two of them.

If his hand moved forward even a fraction, the air blade would have twisted his arm into those things on the ground without hesitation.

Chen Mu turned around, and the air blade was suspended between his fingers. If you didn't look carefully, you wouldn't notice the small sharp weapon.

"Captain Kong." Chen Mu was still smiling, his dark pupils were like a bottomless abyss, and his face was full of coldness.

"I think I said I don't like people touching me?"

The harmless appearance faded, revealing the fickle nature inside. Only then did Kong Wenhan realize the true evil nature of this man.

"Sorry." Kong Wenhan took a few steps back, but his eyes did not give in at all.

"I wonder why the famous mercenary Chen Mu is here?"

Chen Mu's eyes curved: "Is it your business?"

Kong Wenhan choked and suppressed his anger.

If those with S-level superpowers are considered the top figures in the apocalypse, then Chen Mu, with double S-level superpowers, is the one standing at the top of the pyramid.

Whether it is controlling the air or controlling metal, any one of them is an extremely lethal ability.

What's more, he was a top mercenary before the end of the world, and his personality was even more unpredictable. Three years after the end of the world, Chen Mu became a person that no one dared to mess with in this world where ethics and morals were completely destroyed.

His principle is very simple: he will do things for whoever pays him.

Whoever makes him unhappy will be made even angrier.

Kong Wenhan had met him once at a coastal base, and it was he who cleaned up the blood and flesh that exploded like firecrackers.

So now, no matter how unhappy Kong Wenhan is, he cannot offend this madman.

Who knows what he will do?

"I'm sorry." Kong Wenhan apologized again, "Thank you for your help, Mr. Shen. If you need anything, please let me know. I will do my best to complete it."

What he said was just politeness. In fact, Kong Wenhan didn't like anything about him now and hoped that he would leave as soon as possible.

"Why be so polite." Chen Mu put away the air blade at his fingertips.

Kong Wenhan was just about to breathe a sigh of relief when the words "goodbye" were already on the tip of his tongue.

"But since you said so, I'll follow you."

Kong Wenhan swallowed his words again.

"What do you think, Captain Kong?" Chen Mu said, his legs already walking in the direction Zhu Yuanqing left.

Knowing that he didn't give him any chance to refuse, Kong Wenhan looked at his back and shook his head despite the disapproving gazes of his other teammates.

"Of course."
