Chapter 13: The Cold Buddhist Son vs. the Spoiled Princess (13)

Jiang Jingyu stopped sinking.

Only when he felt the delicate touch on his palm did Lechen realize what he was doing.

He was about to take his hand away when Jiang Jingyu suddenly shook her head and rubbed his hand with her chin. Lechen's breathing stopped and he quickly withdrew his hand.

The moment he withdrew his hand, Jiang Jingyu's body leaned forward uncontrollably.

Boom——

Finally, her whole body fell to the ground, and her forehead made close contact with the earth.

"hiss--"

Jiang Jingyu was suddenly awakened by the knock. She took a breath and touched her forehead. When she realized what was happening, she paused and turned her head to look to the side with a stiff neck.

Liaochen looked at her expressionlessly, his tightly pursed thin lips showing his displeasure at the moment.

Jiang Jingyu smiled bitterly: "Master Liaochen."

"When worshipping Buddha, one should adhere to three things: not be distracted, not..."

"I know, I know. I'll start meditating again and practice for an extra hour... oh no, an extra half hour!"

Just as Lechen was about to repeat the Buddhist rules, Jiang Jingyu quickly stood up from the ground, stretched out a finger, and then cowardly retracted it.

Lechen didn't say anything else and closed his eyes again.

Jiang Jingyu rubbed his slightly red and swollen forehead, let out a slight cry of pain, then ignored the pain and quickly picked up the small wooden hammer and started hitting the wooden fish.

Jiang Jingyu practiced for an extra half hour, and her butt was numb from sitting.

However, Lechen was always with her when she was practicing. The person beside her stood straight and maintained the same posture throughout.

"Master Liaochen, I have already..."

"Go copy the Heart Purification Mantra."

Before Jiang Jingyu could finish her words, she was interrupted by Lechen. After Lechen finished speaking, he did not go to the Sutra Repository on the side as before, but turned around and left the Buddhist hall.

Jiang Jingyu looked at his back suspiciously. How had she offended him again?

It is true that a man’s heart is as mysterious as the sea!

Jiang Jingyu curled her lips, stood up and went to the Sutra Library obediently.

After several days of training, Jiang Jingyu has mastered the art of copying the Heart Purification Mantra.

If she copied for several hours every day, she believed that she would be able to finish copying all these thick volumes of the Heart Purification Mantra in a year.

Copying the Heart Purification Mantra can indeed make people calm and peaceful. Jiang Jingyu calmed down after just copying a few lines.

On the other side, Liaochen left the Buddhist temple and went straight down the mountain to Fo'an Temple.

Master Jingkong told his disciples that Lechen would meditate in seclusion at Luoxia Peak for a year, and no one was allowed to disturb him without his permission.

The disciples all knew that their junior brother had a high level of comprehension and would surely make a difference in Buddhism in the future. They had already prepared themselves not to see their junior brother for a year and naturally would not go to disturb him.

The disciples were very surprised when they saw Chen's figure in the temple. They thought they were seeing things and rubbed their eyes quickly.

Seeing that tall figure approaching them step by step, everyone was surprised and delighted: "Junior brother? Didn't you plan to retreat for a year? Why did you suddenly come down the mountain?"

Liaochen glanced around the Buddhist hall and asked his senior brother in front of him, "Where is Master?"

"Master has been invited to give a lecture at another temple. What can I do for you, Junior Brother? I can pass on the message to Master when he returns!"

After hearing that Master Jingkong was no longer in the temple, Liaochen pursed his lips and said, "Nothing, brothers, please continue. I won't disturb you for now."

Just as Liaochen was about to leave, a disciple suddenly called out to him, "By the way, Junior Brother, Master left a message before he left, asking me to pass it on after you come down the mountain."

"What?"

"Master told you to complete the tasks he assigned you and follow your heart."

The disciple conveyed Master Jingkong's words to Chen word for word.

"Thank you, Senior Brother."

Liaochen bowed to his fellow brothers who were sitting cross-legged in meditation in the Buddhist hall, then turned around and left without looking back.

After watching Lechen come and go like a gust of wind, the disciples present looked at each other.

"What happened, Junior Brother?"

"I don't know, it looks like something is wrong."

"We can't figure out what Junior Brother is thinking. Alright, alright, let's continue chanting."

The Buddhist hall soon returned to normal. After leaving the hall, Lechen did not return to Luoxia Peak, but went to his own meditation room in the temple.

After arriving at the Zen room, he went straight to the bed, bent down, took out the fishing rod that had been covered in dust for a long time, and turned back to Luoxia Peak.

Luoxia Peak is nestled between the mountains and beside the water. After returning to Luoxia Peak, Liaochen came to the lake to meditate and fish.

The moment the fish hook hit the lake, a slight ripple appeared on the surface of the lake, and then it returned to calm.

Liaochen sat cross-legged in front of the lake and slowly closed his eyes.

Jiang Jingyu worked hard and wrote a few more Heart Cleansing Mantras than yesterday.

She stretched and turned her head to look outside the yard. The scenery in the yard was pleasant, but there was no sign of Chen.

An hour has passed, where has the person gone?

Jiang Jingyu got up with doubts and went to the second floor. She came to the door of Chen's room and knocked on it: "Master Liaochen, is Master Liaochen here?"

There was no response from inside the room.

"Strange, where did you go if you're not in your room?"

Jiang Jingyu withdrew her hand, turned around, walked to the railing and looked into the distance. Finally, she saw Lechen's figure, which was shrunk by the surrounding scenery, in front of the green lake in front of her.

Jiang Jingyu lifted her skirt and walked down the wooden stairs to the second floor, then ran directly to the lake where Lechen was.

Jiang Jingyu walked over on pebbles, and as soon as she approached Chen, she sensed her breath.

"Why did Master Liaochen come here to fish? I had such a hard time finding him!"

Jiang Jingyu came to Chen's side panting and sat down on the ground.
