After hearing the monk's voice, Jiang Jingyu turned her head curiously. She knew that there were monks coming to deliver food, but she had never seen who that person was.
The moment he turned around, the first thing that caught Jiang Jingyu's eyes was a childish little face, and then the food box in his hands and around his waist.
"So it's you, little guy, who delivers meals every day."
Jiang Jingyu walked towards the monk. When she reached him, she took the food box from his hand. After feeling the weight of the food box, she touched the monk's shiny head.
"You have to carry such a heavy lunch box back and forth every day. Thank you for your hard work."
The young monk stared at her with wide eyes and asked in a childish tone, "Are you the female Bodhisattva from heaven?"
"Female Bodhisattva?"
Jiang Jingyu looked at herself in surprise. Today she was wearing a plain white dress, and her hair was only tied up with a jade hairpin, with the rest of her black hair hanging down to her waist. The dress and her black hair swayed in the wind, giving her a rather otherworldly look.
Looking at the innocent little monk in front of him, Jiang Jingyu coughed twice and said mysteriously, "Yes, I am the female Bodhisattva you mentioned. I came here to assist your senior brother Liaochen in his meditation. I hope you can keep this a secret."
The little monk nodded quickly upon hearing this and looked at Jiang Jingyu with admiration: "Don't worry, female Bodhisattva, I will keep it a secret!"
Looking at the cute little monk in front of him, Jiang Jingyu smiled and stroked his little head: "So good."
After she finished speaking, she turned around with the food box and walked towards the stone table in the yard.
The little monk followed his master's instructions and stood obediently at the door without stepping into the courtyard.
Jiang Jingyu took out the food from the lunch box one by one and placed it on the stone table. Seeing the little monk standing stupidly at the door, he waved at him.
"What are you doing standing outside the door? Come in and have a drink of water."
Jiang Jingyu said as she poured a cup of scented tea for the little monk.
This flower tea was bought for her by her royal brother. It tastes sweet, and Jiang Jingyu always makes a pot of it when she has nothing to do.
There is a distance from Fo'an Temple to Luoxia Peak. The little monk carried the heavy food box and walked all the way. He was so tired that his face turned red and some beads of sweat appeared on his forehead.
When the little monk standing at the door saw Jiang Jingyu waving at him, he grabbed his collar awkwardly.
The master told him not to step into the pavilion in the back mountain, but the female Bodhisattva now waved to him to go in. The female Bodhisattva is an immortal in heaven. The master should not be angry if he listened to the female Bodhisattva and stepped into the pavilion, right?
The little monk struggled with himself for a while, and then took a tentative step into the yard.
After the first step, there will be a second step. The little monk stepped into the courtyard, then turned his head to look at the door frame behind him. After making sure that his whole body was in, he ran towards Jiang Jingyu.
Jiang Jingyu was amused by the little monk. After the little monk came to her, she took out a handkerchief and wiped the sweat from his forehead.
“Thank you, Female Bodhisattva!”
The little monk bowed politely to Jiang Jingyu, his whole body filled with joy.
He saw the female Bodhisattva!
"Sit down and drink a glass of water. Wait until you cool down before going back."
Jiang Jingyu placed the teacup in front of the little monk and motioned him to sit on the stone bench.
The little monk nodded, lifted his little butt and sat on the stone bench. Due to his height, his feet could not touch the ground, so he swung his little feet after sitting on the bench.
He looked at the tea with flower petals floating in front of him in amazement, held the teacup with both hands, bent down and took a sip.
"How does it taste?"
Jiang Jingyu sat opposite him and looked at him. The little monk, who had tasted the scented tea, looked up at her in surprise: "It tastes good, and it's sweet!"
"If you like to drink, drink more. Next time you come to deliver food, you don't have to rush down the mountain. Have a cup of tea to cool down the sweat."
The little monk nodded, his big eyes twinkling in a very pleasing way.
It was his first time drinking floral tea and he was reluctant to finish it in one breath. He took small sips of it and put it into his mouth. Even though he drank his favorite floral tea, he did not forget about his senior brother.
After looking around the courtyard, she turned to Jiang Jingyu who was sitting opposite her and said, "Female Bodhisattva, where is Brother Liaochen? The food won't taste good if it gets cold."
Jiang Jingyu casually pointed to the Sutra Library nearby and said, "Look, someone is copying the Heart Purification Mantra in there."
The little monk looked in the direction of her finger and saw Lachen's figure through the window.
"Then I'll go call Senior Brother Chen out for dinner!"
"Go ahead."
Jiang Jingyu wasn't sure if her shouting would stir up dust, so she asked the little monk to do it for her.
The little monk finally lived up to her expectations and pulled Lachen up from the desk and walked towards the courtyard.
"Master said that no matter how important it is to worship Buddha, we must not forget to eat."
When the little monk pulled Lechen's hand out, he kept muttering, repeating what his master said over and over again.
Lechen let him pull him, lowered his eyes to look at the little one in front of him, the corners of his mouth slightly raised, and a hint of tenderness appeared between his eyebrows that Jiang Jingyu had never seen before.
"Master Liaochen... isn't it nice for you to smile? Don't always have a stern face."
Jiang Jingyu quickly took back the word "Master Lechen" that had come out of her mouth, and spoke to Lechen in the manner of a female Bodhisattva.
"Master often tells Brother Liaochen to smile more, but he doesn't listen. The female Bodhisattva must speak up for Master."
The little monk also agreed.
The smile on Liaochen's lips instantly disappeared, and he said in a deep voice: "Hui En, don't say too much."
"oh."
The little monk quickly shut his mouth and continued to pull Luochen all the way to the stone table.
Jiang Jingyu had placed the dishes on the stone table one by one. She picked up the kettle and filled the little monk's half-drunk flower tea.
"Huien, continue drinking tea."
“Thank you, Female Bodhisattva!”
When they arrived at the stone table, the little monk let go of Chen's hand and happily sat down in the seat he had just sat in, calling her "female Bodhisattva" all the time, which was so fluent.
Lechen didn't hear the conversation between the two and subconsciously looked at Jiang Jingyu. The latter raised her eyebrows at him with a teasing look in her eyes.
With the little monk around, Jiang Jingyu and Lechen sat at the same table to have their meal again.
Liaochen rarely spoke while eating, but the little monk kept chattering. He answered whatever Jiang Jingyu asked. It was obvious that he had complete faith in the identity of the female Bodhisattva and told her everything he knew.
"Brother Liaochen, do you want to practice meditation here for a year?"
The young monk turned his head to look at Liaochen who was standing beside him. Liaochen nodded slightly and asked, "How are your studies going lately?"
The little monk nodded like a chicken pecking at rice: "Although Master has gone down the mountain, I have Senior Brother Qingning by my side to assist me. I will complete the tasks Master assigns to me on time every day!"
The little monk's homework is nothing more than dealing with Buddhist scriptures. Even though he is only six years old and has only been in Fo'an Temple for three years, he has read most of the Buddhist scriptures in the temple, and he can talk about anything related to Buddhist scriptures.
"Where's Senior Brother? Have you completed the tasks assigned to you by the Bodhisattva every day?"
