Chapter 18: The Cold Buddhist Son vs. the Spoiled Princess (18)

Mr. Gu and Mrs. Gu immediately arranged for a carriage to rush to Foyan Temple.

Taoist Qingshan stayed in the Gu Mansion, under the pretext of helping to look after Gu Yunchuan. After Mr. and Mrs. Gu brought him back from the Fo'an Temple, he immediately cast a spell to transfer the merits and Buddhist teachings to Gu Yunchuan.

Ever since Jiang Jingyu fell into his arms that night, Lechen no longer stayed by her bedside.

Sleeping on the floor is not a long-term solution. After enduring summer, autumn and winter, Lechen finally carried the couch from his room to Jiang Jingyu's room and placed it by the window.

Jiang Jingyu's bed is against the north wall, and the window is at the southernmost end of the room. It can be said that the area in front of the window is the farthest from Jiang Jingyu.

Jiang Jingyu lay on the bed with a depressed look on her face, her body in a wide posture, not looking like a princess at all.

She turned her head to look at Lechen who was sleeping on the couch in front of the window, puffed out her cheeks and blew away the hair scattered on her forehead.

Now, the big step that I took with great effort last night has become another big step tonight.

"Master Liaochen, is it too noisy to sleep by the window? Do you want to move over here?"

Every word Jiang Jingyu wrote showed her concern for Lechen.

“No need.”

Liaochen closed his eyes and his voice was calm.

"oh."

Jiang Jingyu withdrew her gaze with some frustration. Ever since Lu Chen brought the couch to the window, she had been trying to persuade him with all sorts of excuses, but she hadn't managed to change his mind even after talking so much that his lips were worn out.

Now that all the excuses were used, Jiang Jingyu really couldn't think of any other excuse that could make Lechen change his mind. She turned over and tried to sleep, and simply stopped thinking about it.

The candles in the room had gone out, and the moment Jiang Jingyu turned over, Lechen, who had kept his eyes closed, opened his eyes.

He looked at the moon in the sky through the window, and his ears were filled with the chirping of crickets.

But Lechen didn't feel annoyed at all. He was usually in a quiet environment and was very surprised by the current noise.

It is not so much that he is surprised by the current noise, but rather that when he is calm, he likes to be in a quiet environment, and when he is upset, he wants to cover up the chaos in his heart with the noise outside.

Lechen was completely unable to sleep that night. He felt a little irritated and uneasy, but he didn't even know what he was irritated about.

After a night, Jiang Jingyu slept very soundly, but Lechen got up and left the room at dawn.

There was a hint of coolness in the early morning air. Lechen, wearing a thin shirt, came to the top of a hill not far from the pavilion to meditate and concentrate.

A cool breeze brushed past Lechen's ears. Listening to the whistling sound of the wind, Lechen became more and more uneasy, and always felt that something was going to happen.

Liaochen slowly opened his eyes.

Did something happen to the master?

The first thing he thought of was his master who was leaving Fo'an Temple to give lectures elsewhere.

However, after thinking about his master's high moral character and prestige, Lechen gave up the idea.

It would be even less likely for anything to happen if the brothers and sisters stayed in Fo'an Temple.

Could it be her?

Lechen pursed his lips, stood up and walked towards the pavilion.

Jiang Jingyu has lost the habit of sleeping in since arriving at Luoxia Peak, and today he got up very early for the first time.

As she stretched lazily out of the room, she happened to run into Lechen who was going upstairs. Jiang Jingyu stopped and greeted Lechen: "Master Lechen, good morning."

After seeing that Jiang Jingyu was unharmed, Lechen paused on the stairs and then turned and walked downstairs: "Now that you're up, clean up and start meditating."

Jiang Jingyu looked at Lechen's back suspiciously and replied, "I'll be right there."

After Jiang Jingyu came to the yard, she quickly rinsed her mouth, washed her face with clean water, and went to the Buddhist hall. When she arrived at the Buddhist hall, Lechen was already sitting on the cushion. Although he still stood upright and beat the wooden fish again and again, Jiang Jingyu always felt that he was worried.

However, because Liaochen didn't want to be disturbed while he was worshiping Buddha, Jiang Jingyu kept the question to herself and didn't ask.

Time passed minute by minute. Jiang Jingyu kept her ears perked up to listen to the movements around her while beating the wooden fish. When the sound of the wooden fish stopped, she suddenly opened her eyes and turned to look at Chen.

"Master Liaochen is worried about something?"

Liaochen was about to stand up when he paused.

So obvious?

He was about to speak when he heard hurried footsteps outside the door.

"Brother, Brother Lechen is in trouble!"

The little monk's voice was heard from a long distance away. Lechen and Jiang Jingyu looked at each other, got up and walked into the yard.

The little monk ran up the mountain steps and stopped in front of the pavilion. He grabbed the door frame with his little hands, stepped into the courtyard, and pounced on Lechen who was walking towards him.

"Brother Lechen, something bad has happened! Two people have come to the temple, claiming to be your parents. They want to take you back home after you have returned to secular life!"

The little monk ran to Chen in one breath, grabbed his sleeve, looked up at him anxiously.

After hearing this, Liaochen's uneasy heart suddenly calmed down.

It turned out that the unrest in his heart was because of himself.

Jiang Jingyu was shocked. She had originally hypothesized whether Lechen would return to secular life if his parents came to visit him. She didn't expect that the joke would come true so soon!

"Brother Liaochen, what should we do now?"

The little monk raised his head and looked at Lachen eagerly.

Before Lechen said he wanted to return to secular life and leave Fo'an Temple, the young monk was already secretly sad.

"Let's go. I'll go down the mountain with you."

Lechen grabbed the little monk's hand and pulled him down the mountain.

Looking at the backs of Lechen and the little monk as they left, Jiang Jingyu gritted her teeth, turned back to her room, found a face mask to put on, and then quickly followed them.
