Chapter 37: The Cold Buddhist Son vs. the Spoiled Princess (37)

Lechen paused and stopped on the stone steps in front of him.

Jiang Jingyu looked at him expectantly, waiting for his answer. Lechen was silent for a moment, then continued to walk forward.

Jiang Jingyu was waiting for his answer: "?"

"Master Liaochen, you haven't answered me yet."

Jiang Jingyu hugged Lechen's neck and jumped up, looking at him from a closer distance.

With a faint smile in his eyes, Lechen walked towards the attic step by step.

When did you become upset?

He doesn't know either.

Maybe she held his hand during a nightmare, maybe she fell into his arms while he was sleeping, maybe she covered his eyes with a ribbon on his twentieth birthday, maybe she treated his wounds with her own hands when he was attacked, maybe she came upstream to save him from drowning when he fell into the water...

If I had to explain it, Liaochen couldn't give a clear reason.

I don’t know where this love comes from, but it’s so deep.

Lechen wanted to find the answer, but all that flashed through his mind were the little things between the two of them. He felt confused and had nowhere to turn, yet it could be seen everywhere.

How could Jiang Jingyu give up without hearing the answer she wanted?

She pestered Luchen with questions, trying to figure out why he was confused.

Was it she who fell in love first, or was it he who lost his mind first?

"I've heard that the female Bodhisattva has amazing foresight. Why not get a fortune-teller for Chen Bu and find the answer?"

Lechen turned his head slightly to look at Jiang Jingyu beside him, his eyes and brows tender and affectionate.

Jiang Jingyu was furious and slapped Xia Chen's shoulder fiercely: "Okay, you actually eavesdropped on my conversation with Hui En!"

The young monk firmly believed that Jiang Jingyu was a female Bodhisattva. In order to continue to make up this lie, Jiang Jingyu tricked the young monk into believing that she could tell fortunes and that nothing in the world could be hidden from her by just counting on her fingers.

As she expected, the little monk admired her even more.

The fabricated story I told that day was just to fool the little monk, but I didn’t expect that Lechen would hear it!

Lechen carried Jiang Jingyu on his back as they walked on the stone steps leading to the pavilion, and their voices echoed throughout Luoxia Peak.

Boom——

After arriving at the pavilion, the sky suddenly changed. The original moon and stars were replaced by dark clouds.

"It looks like it's going to rain."

After arriving at the pavilion, Jiang Jingyu slid down from Lechen's back and looked up at the dark clouds above her head.

"Go back to your room and rest first. I'll make you a bowl of noodles."

After Lechen finished speaking, he walked towards the westernmost room on the first floor. Jiang Jingyu followed him to the room. This room had been closed before. It was the first time Jiang Jingyu came here and found out that there was a kitchen in the pavilion.

Although the kitchen is small, it is kept very tidy and has all the necessary pots, pans, and utensils.

Lechen went straight to the cupboard, rolled up his sleeves and took out flour from it. Under Jiang Jingyu's gaze, he took out a basin and poured the flour into it.

Seeing how skillfully Liaochen stirred the flour, Jiang Jingyu asked in surprise, "Master Liaochen can cook?"

Liaochen nodded slightly: "When I was in retreat at Luoxia Peak, I always cooked for myself."

"Then why didn't Master Lechen do it after I came?"

Jiang Jingyu asked in confusion, then walked into the kitchen.

"I'm afraid the food I prepare won't suit the princess's taste."

Liaochen answered truthfully.

The master told him that Princess Daye was spoiled and asked him to be more tolerant. Before they met, Lechen thought Jiang Jingyu was a spoiled princess who was picky about everything. He didn't want to waste time with her on food, so he never cooked for himself again.

Jiang Jingyu put his hands behind his back and walked towards Liaochen step by step: "Master Liaochen, I have a name."

Liaochen paused, then continued to stir the flour paste in his hand with his eyes lowered.

Jiang Jingyu came to the table and stood opposite Lechen. She leaned forward and supported her elbows on the table, supporting her chin with both hands and looking up at Lechen in front of her.

"Princess, that's too distant. I want to hear Master Chen call my name."

Her gaze was too scorching for Lechen to ignore. He opened his thin lips slightly, and two words came out of his hoarse and seductive voice.

"Jingyu."

Jiang Jingyu's eyes curved into crescents as she continued to press the issue, "But my father, mother, brother, and sister-in-law all call me Yu'er. This way, I feel more intimate. What do you think, Master Liaochen?"

How could Lechen not hear the hidden meaning in her words?

Under Jiang Jingyu's expectant gaze, Liaochen called out again, "Yu'er."

Jiang Jingyu straightened up contentedly and walked towards Le Chen. When she got to Le Chen, she bent down and came in front of him.

"Master Liaochen, look at me."

Lechen lowered his eyes and looked at Jiang Jingyu. He saw her almond-shaped eyes reflecting the candlelight and her Adam's apple moved slightly.

What he couldn't resist the most were her pair of expressive almond-shaped eyes. He didn't want to see any disappointment or sadness in them.

"Yu'er."

Lechen looked at Jiang Jingyu and met all her requirements.

Jiang Jingyu suddenly stood up and kissed Chen on the corner of his mouth, then lifted her skirt and walked out.

"It's going to rain soon. I'll go get an umbrella."

Lechen watched with his own eyes as Jiang Jingyu's figure disappeared from his sight. He raised his hand and touched the corner of her mouth, which still retained her sweet scent. He then recalled the scene in the carriage just now, and his eyes gradually darkened.

Jiang Jingyu returned to her room and took an umbrella from the shelf.

The moment she turned around, she caught a glimpse of the closed window. Jiang Jingyu pursed her lips and smiled, then walked forward and opened the closed window.

When the rain gets heavier later, the rain water should be able to flow in, right?

Not long after Jiang Jingyu returned to the kitchen with an umbrella, Chen had prepared the steaming hot noodle soup, and the aroma filled the entire kitchen.

He filled two bowls, blew on one of them until it was no longer hot, and then pushed it in front of Jiang Jingyu.
