Chapter 4: The Cold Buddhist Son vs. the Spoiled Princess (04)

When he was only one meter away from Jiang Jingyu, Jiang Jingzhan suddenly tripped and fell to the ground in a mess.

He gritted his teeth, protected the oil-paper bag in his arms and stood up again. He had just taken two steps when he was hit on the head by a falling branch, and several eye-catching red marks suddenly appeared on his forehead!

When the palace maid saw this, she wanted to take the pastry from Jiang Jingzhan's hand and pass it to Jiang Jingyu on his behalf, but was stopped by Jiang Jingzhan with a look.

This damn curse has prevented them from getting close to the imperial sister for ten years. He has had enough!

He just couldn't believe that he couldn't even do something as simple as passing pastries!

Jiang Jingzhan continued to walk towards Jiang Jingyu. All kinds of bad luck happened every two steps. Before he reached Jiang Jingyu, he had already had wounds of various sizes on his body.

Jiang Jingyu's eyes were hot, and she hurriedly yelled at Jiang Jingzhan: "Royal brother, enough!"

Hearing the long-lost name, Jiang Jingzhan's smile widened completely. Ignoring the pain all over his body and Jiang Jingyu's obstruction, he walked step by step to the front of the carriage and handed the oil-paper bag in his hand to her.

The moment he opened it, he realized that despite his best efforts to protect it, the pastry had crumbled into powder.

The smile on Jiang Jingzhan's lips froze, and he subconsciously wanted to take back the oil paper package, but Jiang Jingyu stretched out her hand with red eyes, pinched the crushed pastry and put it in her mouth.

"Royal brother, how sweet."

Just like when she was a child, when she ate her favorite cakes, she would smile and say to Jiang Jingzhan, "How sweet!"

Jiang Jingzhan looked at her in surprise and joy. Just when he was about to say something, the oil-paper bag in his hand was taken away, and then the curtain separating the two siblings was closed again.

"Yu'er, Yu'er, my royal brother knows that you care about me. Can you please say a few more words to me? Just one sentence will do!"

Jiang Jingzhan knew his own limitations very well and lowered his request silently.

The curtain between the two of them did not move. Jiang Jingzhan wanted to reach out and pull it open but was afraid that Jiang Jingyu would be angry. His outstretched hand froze in mid-air. The people in the carriage no longer paid any attention to him, as if everything that had just happened was just his illusion.

But the oil-paper bag that disappeared from his hand told him that everything that had just happened was true.

Jiang Jingzhan finally withdrew his hand: "Yu'er, tell me what you want to eat, and I'll buy it for you when we get to town!"

As expected, the pastries in the bag were all crushed by him, and Jiang Jingzhan wanted to buy new ones for Jiang Jingyu.

Jiang Jingzhan was about to turn around and go to the front to get the horse when the curtain suddenly opened and a plain white handkerchief was thrown towards him. Jiang Jingzhan subconsciously raised his hand to catch it, looking at the handkerchief in his hand in a daze.

"Wipe the blood off your face. It's so ugly. Don't come near me again."

Jiang Jingyu's merciless and venomous voice came from the carriage. Jiang Jingzhan smiled and knew that Yu'er cared about him!

However, Jiang Jingzhan did not use the handkerchief handed to him by Jiang Jingyu to wipe the blood off his head. Instead, he carefully put the handkerchief away, then walked towards one of the guards. Without saying a word, he put his hand into the guard's chest and took out a white handkerchief from it.

He wiped the blood off his forehead casually, and then stuffed the blood-stained handkerchief into the guard's arms.

Guard: “…”

Your Highness, are you polite?

The convoy heading to Fo'an Temple continued to move forward. Jiang Jingzhan sat on the horse again and followed the side of the carriage to escort the imperial sister.

In the carriage, Jiang Jingyu was nibbling at pastry crumbs. In order not to bring bad luck to Jiang Jingzhan, she didn't go downstairs to eat the grilled fish just now. Now she was really hungry.

Although the pastries were crushed, Jiang Jingyu ate them with gusto, and soon all the pastry crumbs in the oil paper bag were gone.

Dongdongyao's mouth twitched when he saw this. Look how hungry the child is!

Although Jiang Jingyu couldn't get close to Jiang Jingzhan because of the curse on her body and rarely spoke to him on the road, Jiang Jingzhan kept chattering, so she didn't feel bored on the road.

After a month of trekking through mountains and rivers, Jiang Jingyu was almost vomiting from riding in the carriage when he finally arrived at the destination, Fo'an Temple.

But Jiang Jingzhan felt that the journey was too short. On the way, he inquired about the emperor's sister's opinion, and the emperor's sister did not allow him to stay in the Fo'an Temple with her. This meant that they would have to part ways after arriving at the Fo'an Temple.

Jiang Jingzhan felt extremely upset when he thought that he might not see his sister for a whole year, and he cursed the vicious woman Concubine Zhu for the damn curse she had cast on him.

Master Jingkong calculated the date and estimated that when the carriage coming from the imperial city would arrive at Fo'an Temple, he would bring Lechen to the side gate of the back mountain of Fo'an Temple to greet them.

Although the Daye Dynasty is now peaceful and prosperous, for safety reasons, the princess's temporary residence in the Fo'an Temple must be kept secret.

"Master Jingkong."

After arriving at the back mountain of Fo'an Temple, Jiang Jingzhan first bowed to Master Jingkong in front of him, and then came to the carriage: "Yu'er, we have arrived at Fo'an Temple."

After hearing this, Jiang Jingyu lifted the curtain of the sedan chair and saw Jiang Jingzhan extending his hand in front of her. She had seen how powerful the curse was, and was afraid that if she touched Jiang Jingzhan, something would happen to him on his way back, so she jumped down from the other side of the sedan chair.

Jiang Jingzhan was not discouraged, he knew that the imperial sister was protecting him.

After Jiang Jingyu jumped off the carriage, he and Jiang Jingzhan walked towards Master Jingkong in front. The moment Jiang Jingyu looked up, his attention was attracted by the monk beside Master Jingkong.

The monk had broad shoulders and a narrow waist, an upright posture, and was dressed in a light blue robe. There was an innate nobility in his every move.

His thin lips were as red as blood, and a scarlet teardrop mole at the end of his eye added a bit of charm. His eyes were as dark as night, as calm as an ancient well, and his whole body exuded a faint sense of alienation, as if nothing in the world could stir up his calm mood.
