Chapter 6: The Cold Buddhist Son vs. the Indulgent Princess (06)

Jiang Jingyu kept struggling, and the moment she opened the door, her sobbing and trembling voice clearly reached Chen's ears.

Liaochen came to the bedside under the moonlight and gently grabbed her shoulders.

"Princess, Princess, wake up quickly and don't let those scenes consume your nerves."

Liaochen knew that she was haunted by a nightmare, and hurriedly shook her body to wake her up.

Jiang Jingyu's sobbing became louder and louder. Although he couldn't see her expression clearly, Lechen could clearly feel that her whole body was shaking.

Lechen pursed his lips, and remembering what his master had said, that the blood of Buddhists could temporarily drive away evil spirits, he bit his finger without hesitation, and then pressed the blood bead on his finger onto Jiang Jingyu's brow.

Jiang Jingyu's crying became softer and her trembling body gradually calmed down.

Lechen only breathed a sigh of relief after she had fully recovered. Just as he was about to get up and leave, someone grabbed his finger.

Lechen paused and subconsciously turned his head to look at Jiang Jingyu on the bed: "I'm scared, don't leave."

Jiang Jingyu tightly grasped his two fingers, her voice still filled with fear and hoarseness from crying.

Lechen was silent for a moment, then uttered one word: "Okay."

Jiang Jingyu then let go of his hand, but Lechen did not sit down. He turned around and continued walking forward. Finally, he came to the table and lit the candlestick on it. The originally dark room suddenly became bright.

The moment he turned around, he found that Jiang Jingyu's eyes were misty and he was looking at him eagerly, afraid that he would leave the room.

"People in nightmares will feel less fearful in bright surroundings. Princess, continue to sleep. Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere."

Lechen walked straight to the bed and pulled down the bed curtain on one side to block most of the candlelight for Jiang Jingyu, keeping the room bright without disturbing her sleep.

After doing all this, he turned around and sat down at the table, but found that just sitting there was not a solution, so he stood up again.

As he stood up, Jiang Jingyu, who saw his figure through the bed curtain, also sat up. She grabbed the bed curtain with both hands, leaving only her small head exposed.

"Are you leaving?"

Lechen paused and explained, "Go get the scriptures."

"oh."

Jiang Jingyu agreed, and after watching Lechen walk out of the room, she quickly responded to Dongdong.

"Don't cry, I'm fine now."

[Wuwuwu, host, you really scared me to death just now! ]

Dongdong wiped his tears and stood up. As an all-purpose assistant, this was the first time for him to feel so helpless.

"Hurry up and give me another dream suppressant pill. I felt like I forgot something before going to bed. Turns out the effect of the medicine has worn off!"

Dongdongyao quickly took out a big pill. Jiang Jingyu's eyes widened when she saw the pill in Dongdongyao's hand, which was as big as half a fist.

"Is it, this big?"

[Hehe, Xiaodong, I just had a sudden inspiration and rolled twelve nightmare-suppressing pills into one. This way, the host won't have nightmares for a year after taking it!]

Dongdongyao, whose expression changed faster than turning the pages of a book, chuckled and presented the pill with a look of seeking credit.

Jiang Jingyu's mouth twitched: "... Is there any difference between rolling one and eating twelve at once?"

Dongdongyao gave a bitter smile: [There is, a little bit…]

Jiang Jingyu took the nightmare pill, which was half the size of a three-year-old child's fist, and began to chew it like a candy bean.

Lechen quickly brought the scriptures from the room. When he arrived at Jiang Jingyu's room, he found that she was still in the same posture.

Looking at the little head sticking out from the bed curtain, he felt helpless and turned around and closed the door to reassure her.

Lechen came to the table with the scriptures and sat down. He lowered his eyes and looked through the scriptures in his hand. His expression was meticulous and the candlelight softened his cold face.

Jiang Jingyu stared straight at his profile. Perhaps her gaze was too intense, Lechen, who was always focused, was a little distracted.

"Do you have anything else to do?"

Lechen asked without looking away.

Jiang Jingyu lowered her eyes, a trace of dejection appearing on her face: "Master Liaochen, is the curse on me incurable?"

Lechen pursed his lips and was about to speak when he heard Jiang Jingyu say, "As I get older, my dreams become more and more terrifying. Every night, I'm haunted by a mountain of corpses and evil spirits. If Master Chen hadn't been here today, I'm afraid I wouldn't have woken up."

"You'll be fine as long as I'm here."

There was no extra expression on Lechen's face, and his eyes were always on the scriptures in his hands.

"Then will you always be with me?" Jiang Jingyu looked at him expectantly: "With Master Chen here, I feel at ease."

"As long as the curse on you lasts one day, I will stay with you for one day. If it lasts one year, I will stay with you for one year."

To exorcise the curse from Princess Daye is the task assigned to him by his master, and he will obey his master's orders and complete the task.

"What if I never figure it out? Master Liaochen... will he stay by my side forever?"

Liaochen fell silent.

No one spoke for a long time.

Jiang Jingyu curled her lips, no longer wanting to embarrass herself, and retracted her head into the bed curtains and lay down obediently.

With the nightmare-suppressing pills, she was no longer troubled by nightmares this time and soon fell into a deep sleep.

Jiang Jingyu was not a very good sleeper, and since it was a bit hot, she tossed and turned in bed, making some noise.

Lechen, who was sitting and reading scriptures under candlelight, frowned when he heard the noise. Thinking that Jiang Jingyu had fallen into a nightmare again, he stood up and walked towards the bed.

He was about to lift the bed curtain to check the situation when half of a white and smooth arm suddenly stretched out from the bed curtain. The slender fingers brushed across his robe, and finally pinched a corner of the robe and clamped it between the fingers.

Liaochen lowered his eyes to look at the hand that was holding his robe, then took two steps back and pulled the robe out from between her fingers.

After making sure that Jiang Jingyu was not in a nightmare, he turned and walked to the window in front and opened the half-closed window. A cool breeze blew in through the window, and the noise of the tossing and turning on the bed finally subsided.

Liaochen stayed with Jiang Jingyu all night and did not leave until dawn.

Jiang Jingyu slept soundly. She stretched, took her toiletries and went to the yard.

The scenery of Luoxia Peak is beautiful, with green mountains and clear water. It is a good place to relax and recuperate.

Jiang Jingyu walked up the wooden steps to the yard. When she came to the water tank to scoop water, she found a red mark on her forehead.

"What's this?"

Jiang Jingyu went to the water tank and took a look, then subconsciously raised her hand to touch the mark on her forehead.

[This is the bloodstain left by the male protagonist biting his finger when the host fell into a nightmare last night. If it weren't for this drop of blood, the host would have abandoned me alone to go sailing!]

Jiang Jingyu's eyes flashed slightly, and he wiped the blood off his forehead in a few strokes.

She washed her face with clean water and ran to the side with a bamboo tube to rinse her mouth.

There was a pond in front of the pavilion, and several small goldfish were napping in the water. Jiang Jingyu put her finger in and touched the tail of the small goldfish. The small goldfish that were still napping were instantly awakened and scrambled to escape.

Jiang Jingyu burst out laughing, and the moment she turned around, she saw Chen Zheng standing in the yard looking at her.

"Come with me."
