After watching the sunrise, Jun Beichen did not have the boat turned around, but instead raised the sails and continued to sail forward.
Nan Qing ate something and then went back to sleep. When she woke up, she found that he had carried her off the boat.
Looking around at the greenery, Nan Qing glanced around and took in the sights.
What greets the eye is soft white sand, clear seawater, lush green vegetation, and a damp, salty sea breeze.
"Jun Beichen, where are we? Aren't we going back?"
Jun Beichen glanced down at Nan Qing, who had already woken up, and without stopping, smiled:
"Hmm, I'll show you something; you'll probably like it."
He walked along the coastline for a while, and after turning past a group of rocks, the view suddenly opened up before him.
Nanqing saw a small, suspended house made of bamboo and wood standing quietly in the shade of the greenery at the edge of the beach.
"You said you wanted to live by the sea for a while, going beachcombing in the morning and grilling fish at night, but this little house is so simple, I wonder if it's the same as the little house you envisioned."
Jun Beichen's voice came from beside Nan Qing's ear, and she then turned her gaze back to Jun Beichen's face, saying happily:
"Jun Beichen, when did you finish this? It's amazing! It's exactly what I wanted!"
Yes, how could it not be the kind she wanted: seashell wind chimes under the eaves, and several pots of purple, yellow, and red wildflowers by the window.
Nanqing had mentioned these things to him by chance during their exile. He took them to heart that day, and as soon as he arrived in Lingnan, he arranged for people to go out to sea, find this small island, and build a seaside cottage.
In front of the bamboo house, Jun Beichen put Nan Qing down, his right hand still resting on her waist.
"Shall we go in and take a look?"
Nan Qing nodded quickly and walked towards the small staircase next to her, but she didn't forget to pull Jun Beichen, who was beside her, along with her.
This bamboo house is built suspended in mid-air, with thick green bamboo pillars and its bottom suspended three feet above the ground. Inside the bamboo house, you can hear the soft sound of the waves, which is not noisy but rather makes people feel very comfortable.
The bamboo house wasn't large; besides the main hall, there was a tea room on the left and a bedroom on the right.
The bedroom has a particularly large window, which, when opened, offers a panoramic view of the entire beach and sea.
Nan Qing reached out and touched the seashell wind chimes hanging under the eaves. They were made of shark bones and various seashells. The wind chimes tinkled, like the whispers of mermaids, crisp and melodious, and very pleasant to hear.
Jun Beichen hugged her from behind, nuzzled her ear, and whispered in her ear:
"The tide is out, Qingqing, would you like to catch some crabs or collect seashells?"
Nanqing looked towards the coastline and, sure enough, the tide was gradually receding, revealing large areas of shimmering sand and reefs.
It was already late afternoon, a time Jun Beichen had specifically calculated. He had consulted with fishermen who frequently fished at sea and determined that the afternoon low tide had been occurring during this time period for the past few days.
Nanqing took off her shoes and socks, leaving her bare, tender little feet on the sand. She carried a small bamboo basket on her back and held a special little clip in her hand. She walked ahead, bending down to turn over small rocks to see if there was anything inside.
Jun Beichen walked behind her, looking helplessly at the series of small footprints on the beach.
Fortunately, he had sent all his guards to another part of the island beforehand; otherwise, if someone had seen such a beautiful view, he felt he would have gone crazy!
"Jun Beichen! Come here right now!!"
Hearing Nan Qing's excited voice, he quickly walked forward. As soon as he got closer, he saw a blue crab, as big as his palm, darting sideways across the sand.
The crab raised its two large pincers high, baring its teeth and brandishing its claws, looking just like a little tyrant.
Nanqing held the small clip in her hand, trying to grab it several times but failing each time, yet she dared not use her hands to grab it.
As if understanding that Nanqing couldn't catch it no matter what, the crab waved its two large pincers even more vigorously, and even circled in front of a reef, taunting it before hiding under the reef behind it.
Nan Qing stared at the crab, gritted her teeth, and cursed, "Damn crab!!!"
I absolutely have to steam it tonight!
She always remembered that if you're bullied, you should go to your family; being bullied by a crab is also considered bullying!
So Nan Qing turned around, pouted, and stared straight at Jun Beichen with her big eyes, her face saying, "You need to be more sensible, I'm very wronged!"
Actually, there was no sign of grievance on her face at all; only the fighting spirit aroused by the crab.
But Jun Beichen adored her vibrant appearance. He leaned down and kissed her slightly pouting lips, his eyes lifting slightly as he said:
"Wait, your husband will take care of it for you!"
He gripped the edge of the reef with one hand, his arm muscles slightly tense, and lifted the reef, which was about half a person tall. Nan Qing was stunned when she saw this from behind.
So... this guy's internal strength is actually no less than hers?
By the time Nan Qing came to her senses, Jun Beichen had already held up the large crab and presented it to her, its eight legs frantically flailing in the air.
But Jun Beichen, a prince from the capital, must have eaten plenty of crabs, but he certainly doesn't know how to catch them.
He grabbed the crab by one of its large pincers, while the other pincer was clamped in his palm, and the other eight legs kept scraping across his hand, leaving red marks.
But he seemed oblivious to the pain in his palm, still looking at Nan Qing with a look of utter delight.
Seeing how he was catching crabs, Nanqing quickly patted his wrist and said urgently:
"Jun Beichen, you...you let go right now! We don't want this crab anymore!!"
But he seemed not to hear her, chuckled softly, and steadily stuffed the crab into the small basket at her waist, then casually put the lid on.
The crab fell into the bamboo basket with a "thud," its pincers still stubbornly pounding against the basket's sides. Nan Qing, however, paid no heed to it. She grabbed Jun Beichen's wrist and turned his hand over to examine it closely.
That hand, which should have been as slender and fair as jade, was now covered with various red marks of varying depths.
The most glaring thing was the spot on the side of my palm where the crab claws had pinched me hard; a small bruise, turning from red to purple, was visibly forming there.
Fortunately, there were no open wounds. Nan Qing glared at him and said angrily:
"Jun Beichen, is this how you catch crabs? Don't do it like that again!"
"I don't even know if you're catching the crab, or the crab is catching you."
Jun Beichen raised his other hand and gently poked Nan Qing's pouting lips with his fingertips, which made Nan Qing glare at him several more times. This guy, how can he be so unserious!
Looking at Nan Qing, who kept fiddling with his palm and looking through his things, Jun Beichen's smile deepened, and even his voice became incredibly gentle.
"Yes, whatever Qingqing says goes."
You can see that Qingqing feels sorry for him and is worried about him. So what if he got pinched by a crab?
He grabbed Nan Qing's hand in return, his long fingers forcefully squeezing between hers, their ten fingers intertwined perfectly. He led her forward, saying lazily yet arrogantly:
"Come on, let's catch all the crabs on this beach together."
"How about we cook a crab feast for Qingqing tonight?"
This Nanqing is extremely, extremely, extremely interested in!!
Crab roe, crab meat, crab legs, crab fat...
Ahhh, it really looks so tempting!
The two continued forward, lifting up one reef after another, and catching many crabs of different colors and sizes.
As the sun was about to set, not only was the bamboo basket that Nan Qing had been carrying filled to the brim, but the several bamboo baskets that Jun Beichen had brought over were also filled to the brim.
Nanqing happily squatted on the beach in front of the bamboo house, counting her day's catch: orchid crabs, red flower crabs, blue crabs, swimming crabs, abalone, mussels, scallops, oysters, razor clams...
Great, the crab feast has turned into a seafood feast!
