Chapter 1017 Once Promised the Best Time 25.66

"Qingyan, I'm so happy." Rong Qing made no attempt to hide his feelings. "I'm so glad to be able to meet your family. Would you like to come with me to meet my parents next month?"

Lu Qingyan has reached the required age, and they can get their marriage certificate at any time.

Rong Qing felt that now that they had confirmed their relationship, there was nothing wrong with resolving this matter sooner rather than later.

"Okay." Lu Qingyan readily agreed. She and Rong Qing had known each other for four years, and she believed that he could walk with her through life.

The two of them were discussing their future. Although Rong Qing liked Xia Country, he preferred to live in his birth country, where his parents were still. However, he worried that Lu Qingyan might not agree.

Unlike him, Lu Qingyan didn't have many concerns. Instead, she said, "If you like living there, I have no objection. Your parents watched you grow up, and it's only right that you want to stay with them. Although I've never met them, you've said that you're their youngest child. They're not young anymore, and we can't live too far away so they have to travel back and forth to visit us."

"Your family here..." This was Rong Qing's biggest worry. What if he didn't agree?

“He has his own life to live, so why would he object?” Lu Qingyan smiled. “Perhaps he wants me to stay away from him.”

This self-deprecating remark was blown away by the wind and barely audible.

Rong Qing didn't say anything more. The next day, the two of them got up early and went to the Rong family mansion.

That day, Rong Xu actually got up earlier than the two of them and had already gone out to discuss work. The housekeeper brought Lu Qingyan in and complained a little, "Miss is really something. The master is already quite busy with work, and he still has to worry about you. You've even lost weight recently."

The aunt knew her place and didn't interrupt after saying that.

However, Lu Qingyan still heard this sentence.

Has he lost weight? Lu Qingyan was a little worried about Rong Xu, but she didn't have any other feelings for him.

“Miss, who is this…” The aunt looked at Rong Qing and felt that he didn’t seem to be a Chinese from their Xia country.

“This is a friend I used to know. It would be best to bring her home so my uncle can meet her,” Lu Qingyan said, noticing a look of sudden realization on her aunt’s face.

Lu Qingyan asked again, "Did Uncle say what time he would be back today?"

"The gentleman said he would have to do his work early today, but he could come back a little earlier, around 3 p.m.."

Lu Qingyan nodded: "I understand, you can go ahead and get back to work."

The aunt responded and turned to mop the floor.

Rong Qing looked at the decorations in the house and muttered to himself, "Why does this place look so familiar?"

"What did you say?" Lu Qingyan didn't hear clearly and asked again.

"It's nothing, it just feels a bit familiar, like I've seen this place somewhere before," Rong Qing said. The more he looked around, the more familiar it seemed, but he couldn't quite put his finger on what place it resembled.

"Let's go to my room, I'll show you pictures of me when I was little." Lu Qingyan wanted to share her childhood with him. Although he wasn't there for her in the beginning, she hoped he could be there for her in the future.

Rong Qing followed Lu Qingyan upstairs, and as he looked at the photos she took out of the cabinet, his smile grew increasingly gentle.
