Chapter 1019 Once Promised the Best Time 25.68

Rong Qing spoke very seriously, but this was not what Rong Xu wanted to know.

Rong Xu's expression suddenly turned even colder: "Uncle, don't joke around."

“Rong Xu, you know I never joke,” Rong Qing said. “Is it that hard to admit she’s like this? It’s fate that we met in this way.”

"Rong Qing, what exactly do you want!" Rong Xu said angrily. He was genuinely worried that Rong Qing was approaching Lu Qingyan with ulterior motives.

Rong Qing saw through his thoughts at a glance. He said lazily, "Don't use your filthy thoughts to judge me. Do you think I would have come here today if I knew she was your woman? You don't want to see me, but do you think I want to see you? Rong Xu, you think too highly of yourself."

Lu Qingyan stood silently to the side without saying a word. She held Rong Qing's hand tightly, not wanting anything to happen between them.

Rong Qing sensed her changing thoughts and tightened his grip, as if to tell Lu Qingyan that he was truly devoted to her and would not give up easily.

"Then why are you getting entangled with her?" Rong Xu asked. He didn't think Rong Qing was the kind of person who was used to scheming and manipulative; he knew how arrogant this person was. But he also didn't believe that the relationship between Rong Qing and Lu Qingyan was anything more than pure. Otherwise, why was the person standing by his side not someone else, but Lu Qingyan, whom he had raised?

“I remember you were the one who sent her to X University, Rong Xu. Have you forgotten that I was there too?” Rong Qing said, tilting his head as he watched her face gradually turn pale.

The teaching at X University is indeed excellent. He studied there back then, but every year he was still living alone. Suddenly, someone came to his door, claiming to be his grandparents.

Ha, he lost both his parents when he was young, so where did he get his grandparents? But looking at that face that was eight or nine parts similar to his own, he still had a little bit of faith in his heart.

How could people who are so similar not be related by blood at all? Yet, they had never appeared in his life before. If they had never existed in the first place, it wouldn't have mattered, but they clearly existed and had ignored him for so many years; it was impossible for him not to feel resentment. Especially when he looked at this uncle who was a few years younger than him and whose aura was even more imposing, Rong Xu's dark side was completely ignited.

That year, he did something audacious for the first time. Taking advantage of his age, strength, and the fact that he was related to them, he drugged Rong Qing, tied him up, and locked him in a cabinet in the storeroom of his house.

Few people went into that storage room, and if Rong Qing stayed there for too long, he might even die. Rong Xu knew the consequences of his actions, but he did it anyway.

The old man in the family and the young foreign woman were extremely anxious. They searched everywhere and even called the police, but they still couldn't find Rong Qing.

Everyone thought Rong Qing was definitely not going to survive. The woman even fell ill with a fever and became delirious.

But Rong Xu never expected that ten days later, Rong Qing would appear unharmed.

He was wearing the same clothes as before, which were a little wrinkled and had a slight odor because he hadn't changed them in a long time, but Rong Qing still acted arrogantly and didn't take him seriously.

When he lazily looked over, he felt like a unreasonable monkey.
