Lu Qingsi followed silently behind Lu Ming, too embarrassed to admit that she was a little scared. After all, she had never killed a living creature in her life, not even a fish or a pheasant.
The thought of killing a fox or snake that could transform into human form made Lu Qingsi shudder.
Let the older brother handle this situation; she can just help out from the sidelines.
The two entered an inn in town and, seeing the landlady's pitying gaze, chose a superior room.
Perhaps because there were so few people here, or because of the bloodshed, the inn didn't cost much money at all, much cheaper than what she had seen on the road. Lu Qingsi found it hard to believe for a moment.
Asking for a room wasn't because they wanted to save money; they just felt it would be safer to stay together. After all, with their current cultivation levels, not sleeping wouldn't have much of an impact. However, their long-standing habits made them prefer to move around during the day and rest at night, only now their rest had been replaced by meditation.
Looking at the setting sun outside, Lu Qingsi's eyelids twitched. Tonight they were going to face a monster, and she was not happy at all. She only hoped that her brother could successfully kill her.
Lu Qingsi had a beautiful idea, but reality and imagination are always different.
The two of them walked over there at night, looked at the high courtyard wall, and were discovered when they jumped down from it.
"Hehe, I didn't expect anyone to come to my place?" The black trees swayed in the night, and the dim light shone from not far away. Lu Qingsi saw someone walking over from that direction, wearing a bright red dress.
Lu Qingsi remembered what the young man had told her and immediately became wary. This person must be some kind of monster, hiding here to harm people.
After she came out, Lu Qingsi was able to see what the woman looked like by the moonlight.
Her skin was very fair, which wasn't noticeable in the dark, but when light shone on her, it seemed to reflect off her skin immediately. She had large, almond-shaped eyes, as pure as a newborn baby's, and her lips were much redder than blood.
She walked over and her eyes immediately fell on Lu Ming.
She licked her lips and looked at Lu Ming with a smile: "This young man doesn't seem to be from around here. He must be from out of town, right? I know a lot of people here, but I've never seen you before."
Lu Ming looked at her with disgust: "You've killed so many people, how dare you still stay here?"
The beautiful woman said dismissively, "What business is it of yours what I killed? In the beginning, they coveted my beauty and wanted to keep me in their hands, to make me a caged bird. Of course I wasn't happy about that, so I repaid them in a different way, and they were quite happy about it, weren't they? Who told you to meddle in my business?"
"You—" Lu Ming was completely taken aback when this beautiful woman said such a thing, and his face turned red instantly.
"What about those people later? Were they there voluntarily, or did you force them?" Lu Qingsi asked, frowning.
"Little sister, why ask so many questions?" Jiao Niang seemed to only notice Lu Qingsi now. She tossed a strand of hair and twirled it in her hand, her large almond eyes glancing at Lu Ming, completely ignoring Lu Qingsi.
