Rong Xu laughed and placed a kiss on Lu Qingsi's head: "That's what I originally thought, but I can't bear to part with you, so I've decided to stay."
"Really?" Lu Qingsi looked at him in surprise, a hint of embarrassment flashing across her face: "If you want, I won't stop you."
"So you're going to kick me out?"
"No." Lu Qingsi hugged Rong Xu tightly: "I can't bear to see you go."
“I can’t bear to leave you alone either. Rise, Qing Si.” Rong Xu said emotionally, “Whether I go or not makes little difference to me. It’s quite chaotic outside right now, and I’m worried that if I leave, I don’t know how long it will be before I can come back. I can’t let you wait for me like this forever.”
The couple lived a harmonious and loving life here. Rong Xu, like an ordinary mortal, did everything himself. Except when Rong Xu was away teaching, Lu Qingsi would cook and he would wash the dishes, while Lu Qingsi would weave and sew while he brewed tea and read. The small courtyard was like a paradise, where only the two of them lived.

Rong Xu remained there, which made him seem somewhat foolish in the eyes of those people.

As Rong Xu was thinking, Aunt Wang slapped him across the face.
Aunt Wang used to do rough work at home, and she was very strong. When she slapped Rong Xu, he felt dizzy and a trickle of blood seeped from the corner of his mouth.
"Aunt Wang, what are you doing?" Lu Qingsi came out of the house carrying a basin of water and saw this scene. She was so frightened that she dropped the basin and ran over to protect Rong Xu behind her.
"You—!" Granny Wang was furious, but dared not lay a hand on Lu Qingsi.
"Ha, you've really got guts, letting your wife stand in front of you. If you're so capable, step forward and let's get this straight. Tell me how you harmed my son." Aunt Wang was furious. This time, she was none of her usual introverted self; instead, she spoke with an imposing aura.
Rong Xu was still unaware of what had happened and looked at her blankly: "Aunt Wang, what exactly happened to Xing'an?"
"How dare you ask this? Didn't you ruin him?" Granny Wang said, tears streaming down her face. "What bad luck did I have to run into someone like you? You're a teacher, yet you treat your children like servants? Now that your wife is pregnant, why should my son take care of her!"
Rong Xu still didn't understand. Lu Qingsi was diagnosed with pregnancy more than a month ago, which made him happy for a long time, and he took care of her without asking.
However, Lu Qingsi was unwilling to be the one being taken care of and instead focused on looking after him, so Rong Xu could only comply and try his best to help her with chores.
This is a family matter; what does it have to do with Wang Xing'an?
