The woman grinned, her face displaying a fawning expression that made her seem less like she was addressing her husband and more like she was currying favor with her boss.
Lieutenant He wiped his sweat, his eyes darting around, seemingly plotting something sinister.
Lieutenant He thought to himself, "So many years have passed since the Marshal first appeared. Apart from the one who left long ago, this is the first time in all these years that a woman has appeared and been snatched off in the street and brought back to the mansion. I wonder what kind of stunning beauty she is that could make the Marshal go to such lengths."
Fortunately, his wife came too. He told her to make good friends with the woman the general brought back, and he was sure to get some benefits.
