Chapter 116 The Void Queen, A Tale of Absurd and Bizarre Adventures 6.4

"Who is it? Who's knocking on the door?" came a cursing voice from inside, and a short male servant came to open the door.

"Oh, little girl. Now that you've arrived, I'll be going now." The big bird spread its wings and flew towards the sky, but was stopped by the little blue bird: "Dad, wait for us! Maybe the little girl still needs our help."

As it turned out, it was indeed a jinx.

The servant opened the door, saw that they were strangers, and tried to close it: "Go away! This is not a place for you."

"Is this Cinderella's house? I have something very important to tell her." Lu Qingyan reached out and pushed against the door, trying to squeeze in from the side.

"Oh, are you Miss's friends?"

Lu Qingyan shook her head: "No, we just need to talk to her about something."

The servant thought for a moment and then agreed: "Alright then, you two should sneak in without being discovered. The madam has a bad temper and doesn't like her very much. If she finds out, you'll be in trouble."

He led them toward the kitchen, where they saw very few people along the way. He explained, “Because the prince is hosting a banquet tonight, everyone is busy dressing up the lady and the two young ladies, so you won’t see many people for a while.”

"Doesn't Cinderella need to dress up?" the orange-red bird asked from the side.

“She…doesn’t need it.”

Both birds were very angry. They were clearly a family, so why couldn't Cinderella be included?

"Hey, little girl, shall we go help her?"

"This is no good either. I still want to take her glass slipper." Lu Qingyan retorted inwardly, not forgetting what that big tree wanted her to do.

Moreover, she noticed that it seemed to get dark very quickly after she arrived here. It was only a few steps away, and the sun was already setting before she even reached the kitchen.

She looked at all this unusual scene, but neither the birds nor the servant seemed surprised at all, as if they were already used to it.

A dazzling golden light flashed in the distance, as if something was pulling the carriage away at high speed.

"Oh my god, what happened?" The male servant abandoned Lu Qingyan and ran towards the kitchen, where Cinderella was nowhere to be seen.

"Hi, Heidi. Did you see Cinderella today?" he asked the maid beside him.

The maid stopped what she was doing and looked up at him: "How would I know where she is? Didn't Madam already assign her some work? Is she slacking off?"

"I don't know if she's been slacking off or not, but the fact is she's disappeared. You really haven't seen her?" the servant asked again, unwilling to give up.

The maid boldly guessed, "Good heavens, how could she do this? Did he steal the carriage to attend the banquet?"

The image of the legendary pumpkin carriage flashed through Lu Qingyan's mind instantly.

She searched for a long time behind the kitchen but couldn't find the unusual branch. A look of distress crossed her face: "Could she have taken that branch to the banquet?"

Does that mean I should go and take a look over there too?

In reality, every country in this world is quite small. Anyone with their own territory is a king, and their children are princes. The princes near Cinderella's house are of relatively low rank, so visiting them isn't particularly difficult.

The songs echoed through the castle at night, and the colorful lights twinkled brightly. On the dance floor, men and women looked at each other and danced hand in hand, like elves in the darkness.

Finally, a young girl walked up here and won all the attention.
